Unipsi, lovely entity
chapter 51: mutation
Returned to her senses Iris was mostly confused. She looked around trying to understand what happened to her.
“what… what kind of witchcraft did… you use on me?” Iris’s voice was serious, her rational self couldn’t understand what had happened. Scilla smiled back.
“it’s a long lost spell. It’s really powerful and it’s even more effective if there are certain conditions”
“I knew it! So how does it work? Is it really magic or is it like some secret technology?”
Some times I can’t but wonder if she is stupid or what. Magic doesn’t exist… wait… it exists but it’s rare, better this way.
“well you see. To make it work like what I used on you, there are a few things that you as the casting witch had to have accomplished.”
“tell me, tell me!”
“first, you must be old. Not too old, but old enough. Second you must find your victim. The younger and naiver the better…”
“So it wasn’t at full power cause I’m not naive”
Fighting hard to keep her cool Scilla went on speaking.
“exactly. It was just 1/3 of the power cause it works even better if the other is gullible. Third you make the other develop an attachment bond by being nice. Forth you cast the enchantment. To do so you get closer to your subject in a moment of emotional vulnerability and kiss her deeply”
“… … wait that doesn’t explain anything.”
“indeed, cause I’m not a witch. You just liked being kiss and your brain went kaput. Like mine when I see you smile.”
Turning burning red, Iris stared at her hands. She was just deceived and the embarrassment was coming on the surface at full force.
“t...that...that… you! Meanie!... Lustful being!… corrupting wench!… tricky witch!...”
“don’t forget deceitful beast”
“deceitful beast! How could you trick me like that?”
“it was easy, some time you overthink too much. I just go with the flow.”
“you still took advantage of me and my lack of social knowledge”
“indeed that exactly what I did. So?”
“S..S...So you have… have…. To take responsibility…. I… I… I won’t be able to… to marry a...a...After what you did….”
Scilla grabbed Iris that was still laying in bed. She pulled her close to herself. Lift her by her armpits and ended up with Iris sitting on her stretched legs at the edge of the bed. Iris’s legs were stretching inside toward the upper part of the bed while her body was sideways and pushed into Scilla’s torso. Iris head was forced to rest sideways on Scilla’s breasts.
“I wouldn’t mind taking up such responsibility. No I would love to take it”
Iris looked away. Her hearts pulsing with so much force that Scilla could feel their vibrations. Stuttering like never before Iris replied.
“it’s… it’s… it’s…. too… too soon… soon…. I… I…”
“don’t worry. I have all my life…. I love you Iris”
Scilla felt something warm on her chest. Her clothes were getting wet with a warm fluid. Tears of joy. Iris replied whispering.
“I… I… love you… too… Scilla”
“S… So… what do… what do…. We do now?” asked Iris.
“didn’t think that far. Kissing got to my mind as well. But I don’t think my brain recorded it properly so how about a second…”

“hey, don’t pull your luck. You are really lusty”
“can’t denied that. It’s even harder to keep my composure when you are so astonishingly beautiful”
“thanks”
“I see that your collar changed. Maybe now there is a way to remove it…”
“No!” iris jumped away keeping a hand on the collar to protect it.
“sorry. I didn’t mean it in a bad way. Just thought that you had it on you all your life and assumed you wanted to try to remove it”
“I don’t want to take it off. I’ll never take it off. Doesn’t matter if I can. I want it… it means us… it means my belonging to you. It connect us… I don’t want to loose is”
“oh, I get it. I guess that now you indeed belong to me, and I belong to you.”
Iris smiled warmly while rubbing the collar, a smile never seen before. So illogically beautiful to crack reality. So sublime that Scilla crashed again as she used too. The neat part was that she was growing resistant to it and recovered faster each time.
Once Scilla returned to reality a few things had changed. Their position was the same, yet this time Iris had a mug with a steamy liquid inside.
“how long was I out?” asked Scilla.
“not that long. Do you want a sip?”
“why not”
Scilla drunk a bit of the green liquid. It was mostly sour with a some bitter after taste.
“not my favourite, but it’s fine. Is it tea from Weeping Sky?”
“nope, something I bought at a store. I mean I didn’t really bought it, they gave it to me just because I walked inside their store”
“you went shopping without me?” said Scilla jokingly. Iris didn’t get it.
“was I not suppose to?”
“it’s was a joke. But I hope that some days you will bring me shopping around one of your settlements”
“of course. It would be way funnier with you.”
“is the crystal holograph projection also a gift?”
“oh no. That would be impossible…” Iris pulled out her phone from a pocket inside her sleeve. She showed some screenshot of a website that was about the crystals.
“I saw them in a shop and decided that I wanted you to have one. But they were not good enough so I looked up how they are made and built my own...”
Scilla however was mostly looking at what appeared to be prices. The one that had colours was being sold at 5000 of what was mostly likely an Esterian only currency.
“sorry if I interrupt you, but how do those prices translate in UC?”
“like 1 to 11. so the one you are looking at is 55 KUC. Why?”
“holy shit, they are super expensive. You didn’t have to…”
“they are not. I was telling you. I didn’t bought them cause they had a waiting list if you wanted one that could use any white light. So I built it and it was super cheap. Like at best 400 UC for the materials and current”
So it’s even more expensive. She gave me a fancy lamp that cost more than a car. I should stop her before things escalate.
“Iris. I really loved the gift…”
Iris ear twitched to maximum attention. She was already thinking about the next “cheap” gift.

“but I don’t want you to spend too much money on gifts for me…”
“but it was not expensive. I told you I built it…”
“ok, but it is expensive in general. How much would it cost to order one like mine?”
“I don’t know. About 150 KUC. It’s not much”
“Iris that’s more what what normal people gain in a whole year of work”
“nah. If you get home with just a working energy gun you get some millions. It’s not that hard to find a gun in a ruin”
“I said normal people. Scavengers are not. You and me neither. So… for the future could you just avoid to spend that much. I mean I loved the stone with our initials from my town as much as the crystal.”
Iris was confused but nodded.
“ok. I can do that.”
“thank you. Also… since… since you are here… would you mind if I ask a few things?”
“if it’s about the death Pridians…”
“I don’t care about those fuckers. I want to ask about you. Are you feeling good? I mean you were really emotional and I asked Natix while you were out about it. It said that you are mutating”
“yeah… turns out that killing about 1 million people with the Whispers made them stronger. It’s a pity I couldn’t feed on them all, but I run out of power” Said Iris smiling before continuing.
“but I’m fine. I mean they are improving my nervous system so for a few more days I will be emotional and a bit… moody. But it will be worth it. I mean I’m already able to connect to my ship without the cable. I don’t need the connective suit any more.”
“so you are feeling well”
“yeah”
“emotionally or mentally?”
Iris tilted her head in confusion.
“I don’t understand. What do you mean?”
“like mental health… you know that stuff…”
“you are asking if I have some kind of lingering and crippling anxiety disturb due to my massacres, torturing and various atrocities?”
“emh… I… I guess so”
“nah, I’m totally fine. I mean I like my brutal killing. Plus psychology is not a science. Psychiatry is one… sort of. But I don’t have issues as far as I am aware of”
“thanks. This relives me. If I can… I know that maybe it’s too much… but is there a way to… make me communicate with the Whispers. Like feeling their desires… cause some times I wonder if… well if I’m with you Iris or if I’m speaking with the Whispers…”
Iris moved away and stand up in front of the bed staring at Scilla.
“yeah I got it. You fear that I could lose myself. Fear not the only one who could lose themselves are the Whispers. My will is indestructible and incorruptible. Still I can and so I will show you both my mind and the Whispers consciousness. Follow me”
“could I also see them? I mean I never saw more than a grey dust”
“sure” replied Iris with a smile while walking to the middle of the ship connector.
Scilla followed her.
“so… I don’t know scream if it’s too much” said Iris smiling. Immediately after she closed her eyes and exhaled. Her shadow started twitching and distorting. Whispers floating around Iris body growing stronger and louder. Light started to bend around her as pockets of darkness materialised. Eyes started appearing, first all over the deformed shadow. Then they moved to all the corners with even the smallest dot of obscurity. They were everywhere staring at Scilla.
Iris clicked her tongue and light was no more. Scilla felt herself as if she was falling into something, a liquid that left no traces. In such material void she felt connected to a multitude of consciousness, all individually different yet all united. Weak alone yet indestructible and eternal together. An overwhelming peace overcome Scilla. The Whispers desired order and discovery. They wanted to know all, understand all to the deepest core. They wanted forbidden knowledge that no human, no organic nor synthetic creature should ever desire. They dreamt and desired the code of the Unipsi. They dream to discover the exact mathematical expressions that defined reality. They wanted the source that belonged only to one.
As Scilla was loosing herself in such desires a new one appeared. Home. The Whispers were thinking of their home. The one they found. The one that was like them. The one that felt just right. Iris. They adored her. She was their greatest discovery and they were ready to defend her. They didn’t concealed their hostility but soon it faded. They were pondering about the Intruder, Scilla herself. They didn’t like her at the beginning. They feared for their home. Yet now they see, light, greatness, strength. Scilla makes Iris stronger, she makes her happy. They like her now. They appreciate her presence. She had a calming effect.
Scilla had little time to wonder what they meant by calming effect that a new will came into play. This one redefined darkness. Scilla felt herself suffocating while her skin started corroding under such pressure. Her bones felt an ever deepening cold growing stronger every second. Thoughts of destruction, hate, pain, torture, massacres of innocent filled what was a peaceful space. It was Iris. But she was fighting it off. Such tremendous feeling was compensated by her desire to heal others, to fix nature by force.
Scilla could feel the end retreating, but it was only a feint. That darkness was back, so strong that she screamed in pain as the image of a deformed creature eating unborns flashed in her mind.
She was back to reality. Iris was keeping her up from falling on the ground and she was calling for her.
“Scilla! Scilla! Rispondimi! (answer me!)”
“I’m fine. I’m ok”
What the fuck was that. She is really a monster… just like me… we are really meant for each other.
What Scilla felt was different from her desire. She was not such a killing machine. Yet she felt just right. She was once consumed by such desire of destruction too and it ended the Droxi. It was only logical that she could understand Iris. Not only that but such experience made her love Iris even more as she reminder her of her past self.
“you don’t look good”
Still under shock and breathing heavily Scilla replied.
“of course not. I just came back from hell. Shish girl next time hold a bit back.”
“I’m sorry”
“it’s ok. Don’t worry too much”
