《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 914 Welcome to the Jungle Part 12

After Albion eats and then rests for an hour, he tells me that he is ready to try again. There isn't much chance of anything happening, but just in case I have everyone get ready. When everyone is in position and ready, I tell Albion to go ahead.
When his horn touches the symbol this time the flash of light is even brighter than last time. Luckily, I was ready for it and had my eyes closed so that I am not blinded. Even though my eyes are closed, I am watching through my mana, just in case.
More of the energy gets cleansed this time, around thirty percent or so from the looks of it. The current energy is about half of what it was in the beginning, but it is hard to be sure. That is because as energy is removed, the energy that remains moves around.
With the suppressing energy being removed, the life spark is showing signs of fighting back. It has already pushed the suppressing energy back a bit and is continuing to fight. There are no changes in the condition of the body, but it is only a matter of time.
Albion's horn has grown over an inch this time, but Albion is exhausted again. He looks worse this time, it will probably take longer for him to recover. That is alright though, since the alternative is me doing something dangerous.
I already had the idea of using absorb to take away some of the energy, but that's risky. Who knows what that energy might change me into, I don't want to risk it. I am actually perfectly content with the path I am currently on and I won't be absorbing things randomly anymore.
Of course, that does not apply to anything with fire or lightning properties. I will probably absorb something with wind if I happen to find it, but not earth or water. While it would be nice to have the other elements, I can't be sure that they won't change me.

I have gone through enough random changes, I don't want to do that again. What I want to do is evolve into an actual drake and then maybe even a dragon. Although I doubt I will have enough time to do that, it is still something I plan to try for.
I am hoping that if I can manage to evolve into a drake that I will be powerful enough to extend my life. I have never been happy with having a time limit in this world and I don't plan to give up without a fight. However, I don't blame the goddesses, in fact I am grateful that they brought me to this world.
Lin says "Since we have nothing else to do, how about we have lunch?"
"Sure, sounds good."
While we eat I talk to Lin about her progress and give her some more instruction. Despite not having very much free time she is making decent progress. She is already able to use a few small spells using pure mana, now she just needs practice.
Once she manages to convert all of her spells to my style of casting she will be better at it than I am. It looks like she really was born with a natural gift for magic, lucky girl. Without that, I doubt that she would be able to learn my style of using mana.
Given some more time to develop, I fully expect Lin to be teaching me better ways to use my mana. However, that won't happen for a while, probably after she spends some time in the tower. I am fairly confident that she will be able to become the owner of the tower.
At that point she will be able to open the rest of the tower and I can't wait to explore it. There are bound to be some interesting things up in the archmage's area. Not to mention, once there is an archmage again, I expect Yui to be more useful.

I always got the impression that Yui was being restricted by something. However, that is all for the future, it will still be a bit before we reach the peninsula. After three hours of recovery, Albion is ready to try to purify the body again.
I move up next to him, ready to protect him if something goes wrong, and give him a nod. Albion leans down and touches his horn to the symbol causing a bright flash. Another thirty percent of the energy is purified and Albion only looks a little tired.
When I check him I find that he has reached rank nine and that helped him recover. However, when I turn my attention back to the body I start to think he might not need to do anything more. With the weakening of the energy the spark of life has started fighting back.
The remaining suppression energy is no longer strong enough to contain the spark. It is flaring up and pushing the energy back slowly, it is also burning off the evil energy. It is a toss up whether or not Albion will recover before the energy is gone.
Either way, it looks like we will soon see if the body is going to be able to come back to life. Out of curiosity, I toss a healing spell onto the body to see what will happen. The spark of life absorbs the spell and obviously becomes stronger for it.
That means that I could just pump spells into the body and speed up the process. However, that would also mean that Albion can't get any stronger than he currently is. Out of the two options, I would rather have to wait longer and let Albion get stronger.
So, while I wait for Albion to recover, I go back to talking about magic with Lin. This time it only takes about thirty minutes for Albion to be ready for the final try. When I check the body only about ten percent of the energy is left, so I give Albion the nod.
After the flash of light, Albion quickly retreats to join the others, leaving me in front. The energy is now completely gone and the spark of life is trying to bring the body back to life. This time I go ahead and throw a dozen or so healing spells to help it recover.
Everyone watches as the body starts to recover, first the eyes grow back. The eyes have vertical pupils like a dragon and are a golden color, giving them a noble look. Next the skin recovers, going from the dead gray to a light purple in color.
It takes a few more minutes, but then the two hearts in the body start beating. After that the lungs start working and the limbs of the body start twitching. Finally, he blinks a few times and then I can see the eyes actually looking around.
The guy slowly sits up and looks around, it is hard to read the expression on his face. What surprises me is that even though I am a fearsome beast, he doesn't seem nervous. After looking around for a few minutes the eyes focus on me and he says something in a strange language.

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

Someone was obviously trying to dig their way somewhere. Hoping he would find a way to escape, Shoes continues chipping away at the wall. Shoes, slave of Miranda Alexia Dawngrove, finds a secret passage beneath his Mistress's mansion. There is a hole at the end of the corridor, which leads to a dark chamber. Brick walls, low ceiling, the room's only feature is a stone altar in the middle. It's not the escape route Shoes hoped for, but he is happy with his discovery nevertheless. The room could be a perfect hideout. Shoes, slave of Miranda Alexia Dawngrove, finds a secret chamber beneath his Mistress's mansion. At first glance it seems to be empty, but he notices a straw mattress in one corner. There is a slave uniform on the makeshift bed. As he picks up the clothes, a small wooden figurine falls to the ground. Rough shape, amateurish carving; it's the exact copy of the statuette Shoes has in his pocket.
