《Grandpa Sweet Fist》V3P53- Victoria

In a coffee shop next to the Glowing Fall Bus Terminal, Victor sat. He was by the window and drank from the cup in his hand. The coffee was thick, warm, and a little too sweet for him, but that was alright.

He wasn’t really there for the coffee.

From time to time, he would turn his head to look out at the bus terminal. Flying buses ferrying the residents of Glowing Falls back to town has been landing constantly since early morning, but Victor had gotten a hold of the transport list. He knew she would be returning today.

The weather was not ideal. It was raining, and the rain hitting on the glass windows was obstructing his view, but Victor did not care about that too much. He did not need much. Just a look. Just a look, and his system would do the rest. Then, he would be gone. She would never know he was ever here.

Victor sipped the coffee, observed the people coming off the buses across the road, and waited. Seconds turned into minutes, and the rain began letting up. Finally, he saw her.

A bunch of people came off the bus, but Victor only had eyes for a young woman in her early twenties. She was wearing a leather jacket over a pink T-shirt, and a pair of dark blue jeans. There was a smile on her face and her black hair was tied up in a tidy ponytail. The glowing red outline, and a message visible only to Victor, told him who she was.

Name: Vicky Yalung Evangelista

Relation: Daughter

Occupation: Barista

Power: Science (Low)

Attribute: None

Recommendation: Vicky’s has no remarkable talent in magic, science, or cultivation. However, she is an avid hunter and has decent shooting ability. It is the System’s advice that the best route for this descendant is to train and improve her abilities with firearms.

There was a man waiting for her. He waved, and Victor smiled as his daughter ran to him. They hugged. She looks happy. She seems normal. Victor had no wish to mess with any of that. Then, a thin mist appeared before him.

You have seen your daughter, now you must meet her. Meet your daughter, Vicky Yalung Evangelista, and acknowledge her. Let her know who her father is. Tell her whose seed she came from and make a connection. Please complete the task in five days or punishment will be issued.

Victor frowned. He finally met one of his children who is not in any trouble, and his system want him to drag her into his life. That’s just wonderful!

Victor drank his coffee and thought about it. He guessed he shouldn’t be surprised by the task. Reunion was all about reuniting him with his family, and his system was not about to let a chance like this go. Not when one of his children was right in front of him! The punishment mentioned was concerning, but it was still better than the threat of death. Victor was almost tempted to skip the task and see what the punishment was.

‘Almost’ being the operative word.

Victor watched as his daughter ran crossed the road. She was carrying a big umbrella to avoid the rain and the man was watching from the bus terminal. Victor guessed it wasn’t young love, maybe they just know each other. Victor sighed and waited.

The glass door of the coffee shop slide open and Victor looked from the corner of his eye as Vicky shook her umbrella dry before entering. She turned and yapped in surprised when she discovered him sitting there. Victor played it cool, but on the inside, he was delighted. To his ears, she sounded kind of cute.

“How…how did you get in here?”

His daughter was obviously very surprised, but finally asked after a few seconds of silence. Victor lifted his cup of coffee and tried to be as nonthreatening as possible.

“I let myself in. Nice coffee by the way, better than what I expected from a robot server.”

His daughter looked at the robot server at the coffee counter and saw that it was working.

“I turn that off before leaving. You can’t turned it on just because you want to. And I locked the door! You broke in!”

She was angry. There was some redness on Vicky’s face and Victor was glad to see it. It wasn’t a bad thing for a woman to have some feistiness.

“I did,” Victor admitted. “You may charge everything to the Fraternity.”

As the sound of the name of the supergroup, Vicky realized Victor was not just an ordinary thief. “Oh, you are one of the…wait, do I know you?”

“You may have seen me on the news a few times.” Victor cryptically said.

It took a few moments, then his daughter’s eyes widened. “Oh shit, you’re Sweet Fist! What are you doing here?”

“Well, there was an Emergency and a call for…” Victor had to stop when his daughter glared at him. Then she remembered who she was staring at, and quickly schooled her face blank. Victor chuckled as his daughter tried to pretend the glare never happened.

“I also wanted to know how Victoria’s daughter was doing.”

His daughter’s eyes widened. “You know mum? How?”

“Our paths crossed in the past. I am sorry to hear what happened to her.”

His daughter went still for a moment, as some memories came to her. Then, Vicky gave Victor a small nod. “Thank you. Was she a villain? She never said anything about her past but…well, when I was a kid, I imagined her being one.”

Victor had to chuckle. That wasn’t very surprising. Kids always imagined their parents being heroes or villains. Victor was that way as well.

“No, V was no villain. She was…someone who handle problems.”

“My mother was a mercenary? Don’t look so surprised I know the term. Everyone on the internet forums knows it.”

“She was a problem-solver.”
