Hello. I hope this message finds you well.

I'm Lire by the way.

So yeah. Some... stuff has happened, and a bunch of my acquaintances are either getting perma banned, temp-banned, or having warnings sent to them by Royalroad itself.

Over false accusations.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know. In case the story just up and disappeared or something. That's happened to me a couple of times as a reader. Horrible feeling.

If you like this story enough, but RR deletes it, you can look for it over on Scribblehub. I'll probably continue posting there.

This has all been very stressful, especially since I literally just underwent surgery. (Don't worry, it was just minor stuff. It's still a pain though overall though.)

And even if nothing happens... I dunno. I'm reluctant to continue posting on RR...

I mean, I've been here, grinding for a year, y'know? It would be a huge mental blow if my story was suddenly yeeted off the site.

What if, two or three or four years down the line, some asswipe chucks another false accusation at me from out of nowhere? Then Mods believe them?

What happens to everything I've built...? No appeals, no chance to defend my case...

Just... Just poof.

I love writing and I can see myself doing this forever. But I don't wanna have to constantly deal with the threat of deletion.

I just wanna write, man. That's all.

Maybe make a living from it so I can write some more. Maybe become popular enough to make my momma proud or something.

Maybe.

But this whole clown fiesta has made me feel somewhat lost. I'm also anxious about further action from the group that got RR's management to spam the ban hammer.

From what I know, all members of that group are big names in RR. What's a guy like me to do against people who have thousands of followers and a large network of connections on-site?

So yeah. We'll see how things play out.

I'll probably still leave the site. But — and I don't wanna do this — I might also just do a soft drop of this story.

A friend of mine suggested I clean up — story-wise and grammar-wise — my chapters and try my luck with Kindle Unlimited. Under a different pen name altogether.

I have no idea how to start on that path though.

Regardless, thank you for everyone's support so far. I'm glad my story, despite its faults, reached.

Know that I will continue to write, be it under this pen name or another one. If fate allows, perhaps you'll unknowingly stumble upon my story again.
