《The Forgotten Gods》Chapter 337

Once the eye was done, I moved on to my leg. The stump on my leg hadn’t changed at all since the rocks trapped me. I could still see the bone and blood. It was also more sensitive than any of the other wounds I had.
The first thing I did was pull out the dark smoky black stave that Ni’Bish had given me. I had used the Bloodwood for the Totem and the Purpleheart for the standard. This was the last of the magical wood I had been given as a prepayment for planting the seeds of Ni’Bish’s people. It was both the most challenging and only quest that I had been assigned. The things the Sisters had me do never got counted as quests.
I smiled as I looked at the chuck of wood. It would become my leg. I had gotten the bloodwood stave to shrink down to create the totem. So I figured that I would be able to get the smoky black stave to adjust to the shape of a leg.
My goal was complex with what I was doing. First, I planned on using the stave to make my leg bones and, if I could, my foot. I was hoping that I would be able to articulate the ankle by growing the wood into the right shape. Then once I had it moving in what, I was hoping would be a good fashion. I would apply armor on top of the whole thing. If it worked right, everything from my thigh down would always be armored.
Once I got that done, I would figure out my left pinkie and left foot. I wasn’t sure at this point what I would do for those two things since I only had one chunk of wood. Worse than that, if I sold it back to the dungeon, I couldn’t get the wood until we hit level 65, as it was magical and somehow still alive.
Forty days after my eye was finished, I had my leg done. From the tip of my right big toe to the stump of my thigh was now wooden. The smoky black wood looked almost metallic. Then I added the steel armor plates, which looked very robotic. To help with mana runs through the whole thing, as I grew the wood to the right shape, I also used gold wire to move power.
On the outside of the thigh plates, I created three compartments. Each space held a single throwing spike that I linked to the compartment. Each spike had the pause runes added along with the links to make it return to me. I was tired of losing weapons when I needed them.
On the inside of the calf plate, I secreted a punch knife that added poison damage. Then inside my knee, I added a little barb that I could command to pop out. It was only two inches, but like the punch knife, it was magically poisoned.
The leg itself, to me, was a work of art. It ended up with twenty-five cores and twelve gems that I turned into power stones. The cluster core I made was the most complex of any project I had taken on. While the eye took longer, it was only because of the iterations that I went through.

The leg was almost a culmination of everything I had learned until now. If I had a second stave, I might would have considered removing my other leg just so they would match. That said, I didn’t, and so I couldn’t move forward with that plan.

This custom leg and foot were grown out of mana-enriched Smoke wood gifted to the creator by a demigod as his final act. The creator used plant empathy to grow and shape the stave into a leg and foot with a full range of motion. As it was taking shape, ten power stones were embedded, providing mana for the use of the leg and foot along with the enchantments on it. Once the leg was formed and the runes of power grown directly on the bone-shaped wood, he added mana-imbued steel to reinforce and protect it.
This leg is stronger than the creator’s original level 0 leg and can better withstand the extreme damage others inflict upon him. However, even with the strengthening and the cores, it is unlikely the leg could survive what the creator did to his natural leg.
Knowing that he was prone to battle, and that he often found himself facing foes greater than he should, the creator gave the leg many runes meant to keep him alive. These include increased strength, shielding, a seismic attack, and tremor sense.

Once my leg and foot combo was done, I worked on building my left foot. It was nowhere near as flashy as the leg. I just didn’t have the parts to make something as great nor the room for everything I wanted to do with it. I still wished I could have created two legs, but perhaps I would eventually.
As it was, the foot only took me ten days to create. I built it out of mana steel, which turns out, was just imbued steel. From there, I etched the runes that I needed into it and used the heel as the location for a mana stone. Since it wasn’t that large of a creation, most of the room was needed to put in the runes to let me walk. I was only able to add into it a simple spell.

My left pinkie was the last thing I did. With all the work I had done with my feet and legs, the pinkie was quick and easy. What was kind of odd about it, though, was unlike the foot, which needed the space for the runes to keep it together. The pinkie didn’t. So I was able to slip two small spells into the finger.

Obligate of a Self-Ordained Sorcerer
Come join the Discord! It was a typical late-night friday for Mara, secluded in her apartment in front of a digital expanse, relentlessly mashing code into a keyboard. An introverted workaholic, but this was what she wanted - what she had strived so hard to achieve. So why did she feel so lost? Her life was productive, comfortable, satisfying. Plenty had it worse but she still felt... ungrateful? Stunted? The right word escaped her, but she could feel the general revelation settling upon her. With it came a choice that would set events in motion far beyond the meager scope of a 'New Game+'. So taking an intrusive portal to god-knows-where, Mara will come to find that her new world offers boons and banes with equal abandon. Magic, skills, and unforgiving difficulty. For a frail human shut-in, finding herself stranded in the middle of a sprawling dungeon was one of the least desirable outcomes. Food and water would be the least of her problems, why oh why couldn't she just get summoned by some pervy king to slay a demon army or something? This is a story of magic and adventure with skills and stats galore. A litrpg / isekai epic that I've been inspired to make after years of wonderful works like "So I'm a Spider," "Rimuru the Slime," "Azarinth Healer," "Negima!?," and plethora of other isekai and fantasy novels and animes. Special shout-out to Douglas Adams, a big influence on narative humor that's had a non-insignificant effect on my writing style. I hope you enjoy joining Mara on her journey as I attempt to scratch the itch they left behind.Chapters target 3-6k~ words. Though I'm personally aiming for a chapter every couple weeks, I think I can at least promise one a month with how busy work's been. I made a Patreon due to requests, if you'd like to support me there I'll be using it to fund artwork and RR ads for increased exposure.

Arduous New World
Alright, so I'm using this as a whetstone to practice my fiction writing. I have dyslexia, so bear with me if I have any mistakes, if you point them out I'll try and correct them. The story is LitRPG, I'll try and avoid some of the tropes, see FAQ. What happens is that the world turns out to be a simulation coming to an end, and beginning on its new simulation, in this process the system of the universe declares that the new simulation will be rpg-based. The protagonist however is thrust into an empty space before the simulation comes to an end, he escapes and finds that the world as he knew it is gone.Chapters will come sporadically as I'm quite busy IRL. FAQ1: There will be no Harem. 2: If any sexual content, it will be be below the screen, example sentence [they made love - or - they had sex]3: I'll try to keep character motivations steady instead of having characters who says and does one thing in one chapter, only to change their mind in the next one. 3: Villains or "bad guys" won't be charicatures. Of course, as in real life, you can meet these people, but as far as big bads or antagonists goes, they will have some modicum of intelligence. 4: The MC does not have an encyclopedia of random knowledge. 5: OP'ness won't happen overnight, and it is something that I'm wary of in terms of adding it, of course eventually the MC will grow more powerful, but there won't be any cheats, except hard work; and the luck factor will be more or less similar to the rest of the population. 6: He won't be opposing the universe, no matter how powerful he grows, he is too insignificant7: he won't become friends with god/the ghost in the shell etc, no matter how powerful he grows, he is too insignificant, and an ancient simulation ai has no interest anyway, why would it ? Okay that's that for now.

The Spark
Michael Locke was a normal student, who went through his normal day in a normal fashion, until the day became... unnatural. Shot into the country of Aldemar and thrust into a new world alongside his many classmates, he agrees to work for the king in exchange for shelter and to learn magic. Fate however, is indifferent to his wishes, as he quickly realizes that he may be a hero, but his purpose in this world is quite opposite. Suddenly surrounded on every side, Michael must work to survive, and if anyone finds his secret... He's as good as dead. The Spark is meant to be a murder mystery style isekai, focused on the existence of basically an anti-hero, with every one of the large amount of heroes attempting to discover who the traitor is. This isn't made to be a lovey dovey easy going isekai with an OP mc, it's made to stir around an emotional story, with many dark tones. Still, the goal is to stay fairly light hearted as well, and the perspective will pass around to several characters throughout the story.
