《The Legacy of Gilgamesh》Chapter 16 Sentient Life (2)

With a frenzied, ambitious fervor, Rico embarked on a grand experiment to craft a new form of humanity in the mysterious realm of Gaia. His vision was of a superior race, one that would tower above all others in terms of strength, intelligence, and capability. But for now, he began with a modest goal of creating 100 individuals, half male and half female, who bore a striking resemblance to the races of the Western world.
But these were no mere carbon copies of Earth's homo sapiens. For Rico had imbued them with a unique and striking characteristic that set them apart from all others - their eyes, deep pools of black, that seemed to gleam with an unearthly intelligence and otherworldly wisdom. And as he gazed upon them in all their splendor, Rico knew that his creations were just the beginning of something truly extraordinary.
He pushed himself to the brink of exhaustion as he delved into the complex and challenging task of alchemically crafting the human form. Using his extensive knowledge of the intricacies of the human body, he meticulously pieced together the various functions and organs. But even with his vast understanding, there were still gaps to fill, missing elements that would bring his creations to true life.
With a heavy heart, Rico turned to the powerful and unpredictable force of Origin to supplement and reinforce his creations. It was a draining and perilous process, one that required immense concentration and a steady hand. Every moment was filled with a sense of impending failure, as the roaring energy of Origin threatened to consume his creations and himself. But Rico pushed on, driven by a relentless desire to bring life into existence, no matter the cost.
As he toiled away, Rico couldn't shake the fear that he would fail to create truly sentient beings. The constant weight of disappointment and despair hung heavily on him as he poured all of his energy and focus into his creations.

He had the urge to give up countless times, the doubt creeping into his mind that all his efforts would be for naught. But he persevered, driven by a stubborn determination to see his creations come to life, despite the overwhelming odds stacked against him.
With each passing day, the sense of hopelessness grew stronger, as Rico watched his creations remain unresponsive and lifeless. He was plagued by self-doubt and the fear that he would never achieve his goal, that all his hard work would be for nothing. But even as he felt himself slipping further into despair, he pushed on, clinging to the faint hope that one day, his creations would finally come to life.
As he looked upon the first human he had brought to life, Rico felt a profound sense of love and responsibility. He knew that this was just the beginning of a long journey, one that would be filled with challenges and setbacks.
But he also knew that it was worth it, for the sake of these precious lives that he had created.
With a sense of stoicism, Rico began the next phase of his work, knowing that it would be hard and draining, but also knowing that it was necessary. He would nurture, guide, and teach these humans, helping them to grow and thrive in the world he had created for them.
He would be their father, their protector, and their god. And in that moment, Rico felt a sense of fulfillment and joy that he had never known before.
But as he looked upon the innocent, fragile beings he had brought into existence, Rico felt a newfound sense of responsibility and humility. He knew that his power came with great responsibility, and he vowed to use it wisely and protect his creations at all costs. He spent countless hours studying and observing them, marveling at the complexities and beauty of the life forms he had brought into being.

My House of Horrors
The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. “Landlord, is this what you meant by ‘the house can be a little crowded at night’‽”

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.

Mistbound: Eternity
The world is said to be formed out of duality of man. Good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. And with duality, comes conflict. A meaningless clash of ideals results in pointless wars. Azlan is wanderer who doesn't falls in either category. Tired and done with the redundant world, he lives his secluded life, hunting monstrosites for coin in the crumbling province of Mountaliya, situated in the land of Forsa. The premise follows Azlan as he explores the province, experiencing the culture and its people as they try to stand unshaken amidst a cold and unforgiving world. The story is a dark fantasy that is a balance of action and world building but most importantly, it follows the people going about their daily lives. The world has entered a state of stasis, there are no high stakes, no glory to be had, only a decaying realm of ice remains. Everyone awaits for Heaven's descent, an event prophesied to bring the world out of stasis, by granting the champion of the event a wish. Heaven Shall Descend. I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. (The cover picture is from the year 1818, "Wanderer Above the Mist" by Caspar David Friedrich). I also write Short stories set in the same shared universe. You can read them here: Dark Fantasy Short Stories.

Oublivant
Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis. "Dungons as a whole tend towards the lethal side when it comes to exploring them; however, an oublivant actively seeks out destruction on a grand scale. No greater example of their deep hatred for life exists than the very first discovery of an oublivant. It was a massive dungeon spanning miles in all directions. It continuously expanded along the surface, so fast you could see it, and left nothing but a scorched, withered wasteland in its wake. Wherever the oublivant resides, nothing but the undead exist, as all living life has been eradicated. Why it is, exactly, the oublivant seem so against life so as to break the passive rule dungeons have is unknown. What is known, however, is that they're a threat that, upon discovery, is to be immediately eliminated." - Archomagus Addiom Onero, Court of VascilNote: This is my first story on royal road. It'd be nice if you were nice... nicely.
