《Dungeon from the Void》B4 | Chapter 59.2 - The Fifteenth Floor Part II

Fenrir
After various bits of trial and error, I end up placing nearly half a dozen different types of monsters throughout the floor, almost every one of them being ones able to cloak themselves. Whether they be Void Fens, Void Serpents, some strange creature I found a year ago in the void that is called a Void Stalker – some sort of bipedal thing who doesn’t have a clear face but has a humanoid body and looks like it’s always wearing a cloak – or some of my newer creations, like my Void Lycanthians. Which are basically slightly smaller, but still humanish sized lycans infused with the void and given stealth abilities.
I design the floor itself to be in the form of a rather large maze with who knows how many dead ends and the crystals scattered throughout the maze at a distance between each other large enough to not be too much, but small enough for all of the maze to be covered enough by the void energy fog.
Overall I’m not too big a fan of doing another maze, but since this one is different with the fog and the choice of monsters, not to mention the fact that there aren’t any ‘rooms’ in it, just a pure maze, it’s fine. Besides. Intruders love a good maze.
I think back to all the times I saw intruders struggling to find their way through my mazes.
Yeah. They love them.
The maze itself is designed like the dungeons that I had seen up above the ground at some point. Which is apparently a place where they stick their criminals.
I still think they should just not bother and feed them to me instead, but that idea would probably be turned down. So I didn’t bother suggesting it.
The design was kind of interesting though, so I took it.

And I also made it so that each dead end has a little ‘jail cell’ in it filled with monsters and a treasure chest, which is set up to have a random drop in it, ranging from some random potion or a set of okay iron armor, all the way to a very miniscule chance of World Ore gear. Mostly to motivate the intruders to actually do these rooms and risk themselves.
After all, who doesn’t like loot? No one, judging by the number of intruders I’ve had die for it.
Speaking of intruders. I glance at Leon’s party to find them finishing up with the fourteenth floor mini moss before just sitting there in the mini boss room doing nothing but chatting.
For the moment, I return to my avatar before walking over to them and asking out loud, “What are you all doing?”
They all suddenly turn to me, not expecting my appearance since I was covering myself with my dungeon. But they calm down after finding that it’s me, and Leon just relaxes against the wall as he answers, “Waiting for the next floor.”
My eye twitches.
“You do realize that might take all the way up to a day, right?” I ask, slightly annoyed by their presence now. “You’re just going to sit here for that long?”
They all nod their heads once without a word.
Isn’t he supposed to be the City Lord? How can he just waste time like that?
As if anticipating my unasked question, the man says, “The Mercenaries Guild gives out a large bonus to the first party to enter a new floor and gather information on it. So we’re trying to get ahead on that.”
Oh. Not sure how I feel about that, to be honest.

I watch them for a few more seconds before sighing and returning my main consciousness to my core, refocusing on the new floor again.
Sometimes I don’t quite get these intruders. Why waste so much time just to help other intruders out? Even if it apparently gives a good monetary reward.
Then again, I don’t need any of their currency, so I don’t really sympathize with their desire for it.
I guess I can understand it a little if I consider their currency to be like my tradeable resources? Since I do get some very nice void element orbs from those.
The intruders and their greed aside, I look over my new dungeon floor once more to make sure everything is good. Then I go ahead and begin adding the mana infused monsters to the floor, soon getting to see the first mana infused void stalker that I’ve made. Mostly because the creature can naturally use mana, so I never needed to infuse it before.
But this floor is different. I’m genuinely curious as to how infusing it with mana would change its powers for the floor.
And I do end up seeing a rather interesting change.
Before being infused, the creature had the best cloaking ability out of all of my monsters, with blade-like limbs that it could use to cut apart an intruder after sneaking up on them. But this mana infusion seems to give it some sort of detection blocking ability. One that blocks more than just its appearance, but also magical detection and detection through aura.
Of course, it’s not infallible, and if someone is strong enough or has good enough senses, they can still find it. But it’s a great monster for this floor.
I scatter the mana infused monsters through the floor, with only a couple of them being stationed in rooms with slightly better chests as rewards. And the last three I leave for the boss and two little elite guards to be stationed with Fang when I move him.
The floor itself ends up being quite large, spanning nearly a hundred square kilometers through the void, with the boss room being located directly at the center of the maze. And it spans two floors in some locations, made that way to be able to accommodate crossing paths and complicate the maze a bit further.
Overall, I think the floor should take quite a while to clear. But at this point, I have enough instances and the intruders should be a high enough cultivation that the longer floor doesn’t matter anywhere near as much as it would’ve on an earlier floor.
After looking over the floor once more, I focus on the boss room.
Let’s make this interesting.

Abominable King
(Rebooted version Synopsis) I was just a man like any other, until I got sucked into a world that wants me dead. I can’t think of a reason why they want me dead, aside from the fact that I command a massive army of the unliving and have the reputation of being the embodiment of evil. Between a character I had created in my youth who wants nothing less than to conquer the world in my name, a force made up of unholy monstrosities and the Forces of Light constantly trying to kill me, how am I to live peacefully or find a way back home and will I even want to by the end of my journey? I will do what is needed and fight for survival, even if it means becoming what the slanderous rumors about me proclaim as truth. The reign of darkness has come again on this fantasy world, and all who try to fight me will face the wrath of the Abominable King. (I did not make the art.) (WARNING!
