Squaring his shoulder and facing the encroaching demon army, just in front of him and in bow range as he found out was the giant minotaur and the three other demons. Those three demons were charging forwards one of them arm held in the air as another Ice javelin formed just above its outstretched hand, then threw it. It arched slowly in the air until its zenith, then it pointed itself at straight at Kadin and shot forwards in a flash, he quickly moved to side step it and felt the air rent as it whipped past him to impact on the ground behind him. The other demons roared as the charged forwards the four in front of him were almost on them and the army still a little less than half an hour behind, but he could see the demon tide stretching left and right for as far as the eye could see ‘there must be millions of them’ he thought as he began to charge his blade with fire and swung it forwards sending out a fire blast in front of him aiming at the demon who had thrown the ice javelin. Just like Kadin had the demon just side stepped it, but it was only a distraction as Kadin was already charging forwards – the four demon party looked at him stupidly for a second before roaring drawing their weapons and charging forwards themselves. This must have distracted them as they seemed to forget there were traps around. The first one was close enough and passed all the traps but just behind it, there was a light chime of a trap triggering and a flash of frost causing the demons momentum to carry it forwards when its leg was stuck in place making it tumble forwards and crash to the ground. The one beside it having to swerve to miss tripping or stepping on its comrade, leaving Kadin a one on one fight with the forefront demon he swung his sword forwards aiming for its exposed neck but having drawn its own demon forged longsword the blades clashed. Kadin pushed off that using the force of the demons swing to pivot himself to the side and leaving his opponent open as it tried to turn to face him. But Kadin didn’t give him the chance he thrust his sword forwards aiming for the plates protecting its neck. The plates screeched as his blade forced them apart and pushed on into the demons neck. Kadin pulled his sword back spraying demon blood hot and sticky across his face. The demon was already falling forwards dead as Kadin charged to the next one that had picked itself of the ground and was charging forwards screaming in rage about its fallen comrade.

Having to engage two at once was bad – especially since one of his arms didn’t work, but using his footwork Kadin always tried to keep one demon in between himself and the other, they were already trying to split apart to both get at him, one of them lunging forwards trying to gab at him. Side stepping as Kadin swung his blade nocking his armoured hand aside as he took another step to keep one in the middle, this is where he noticed the flaw in his plan, taking another side step and spin Kadin caught a glimpse of the minotaur raising its bow looking for a clear shot at him. One of the demons lunged forwards at him at the same time the minotaur took his shot Kadin ducked and twisted as the arrow passed about him as he swung his sword forwards and up with all his might aiming to slash femoral artery at the demons upper leg again the armour squealed and parted before Kadin’s blade as it half buried itself at the target between the demons legs. It roared in absolute agony and swung a massive backhand the caught Kadin under his chin. Kadin saw stars and felt his feet leave the ground, he heard the rushing of air for a second before pain exploded everywhere. He had landed on his side – that still had an arrow in it. His head was swimming and he felt unconsciousness pully at him – it took all his effort and will to open his eyes and stumble to his knees. The demon in front of him was on the ground trying to pull itself away from him Kadins sword still stuck in its upper leg. Then a shadow passed over him. Kadin forced himself to look up into the eyes of the demon above him.

“At least I took two of you with me.” He said.

The demon in front of him grunted as it raised its sword for a decapitation swing.

Kadin forced himself to stare defiantly into those demon eyes above him as the beast swung.
