《Vintage Red [GL]》Chapter 68: Going Home Again

Having gawked at my super amazing girlfriend for almost two hours, sadly, the time had come for us to leave. Em grabbed me by my waist, making it so I could not get off the chair.
“Em, we need to leave, otherwise Ria’s parents will get angry.
“I know… but I want you to stay.” She looked up at me with a big pout.
“Awwh. You are making a convincing case, Em… but Ria really needs to get home. How about you stay over at my place again on Friday?”
“I accept your offer.” She slowly and reluctantly let go of my waist.
“Ria will come over too, right?” She looked over at Ria.
“If my parents don’t complain.” Ria nodded.
She looked a bit sad, so Em went over to her and gave her a big hug as well. In the meantime, I joined Karin at Em’s door.
“You don’t mind us claiming your best friend like this, Karin?” I asked.
Karin shook her head. “No, she’s happy like this. So I’m happy, too.”
“You are a good friend, Karin.”
“Thanks.” She nodded happily.
When Em and Ria had finished their hugging, we went downstairs so we could say goodbye to Em’s parents. They were waiting for us in the entry hall.
“Thank you for having us over.” I said, Helen was already waiting by the door as well.
“Nonsense.” Em’s mom smiled. “Thank you for coming to talk to us this soon. And don’t forget that you two are always welcome here!” She came over to Ria and me and gave us both a big hug.
“Please continue to take care of my daughter.” Em’s father said shortly and just gave us a brief smile.
“We will.” I nodded confidently.
Before we joined Helen, Em came over to us as well and gave us a quick kiss too. She did it on the cheek, probably to not embarrass her parents too much. Although her shy kiss did make her mom giggle behind her hand.
“See you at school tomorrow?” She asked.
“Eh, I was planning to stay home all day.” I shrugged while giving her a wink.
“Rora, you caaan’t.” Ria pulled my sleeve.
“I know, I know.” I gave Ria a pat on the head.

“See you tomorrow.” We said goodbye to our girlfriend and her sister and waved at her parents. Afterwards, we followed Helen outside.
“Who do you want me to drop off first?” Helen asked once she closed the door and sat behind her wheel.
I had taken the backseat together with Ria. She’d already nestled herself against my side.
“Would it be okay to drop Ria off first?” That way, Ria wouldn’t be lonely on the drive to her parents house, however short that drive would be.
Ria didn’t say anything, she just continued hugging me.
“Will do.” Helen nodded with a smile and started driving.
“I want to go home with you, Rora…” She whispered into my uniform.
“I know.” I put my arm around her.
“Why do my parents need to be like this…”
“We will figure something out, Ria. I promise.” I pulled her tightly against me. “We’ve been through tougher things, haven’t we?”
Ria slowly nodded and replied softly. “That’s true…”
“And we have Emma as well, together we will get through this.” I rubbed her arm.
When we arrived at Ria’s house, she’d almost fallen asleep.
“Ria, see you tomorrow?”
“Mhmm.” She rubbed her eyes and leaned in to give me a kiss.
“Good night princess.” I leaned in as well and kissed her.
“Nini, my knight.” She then embraced me for a couple of seconds before she got out of the car.
Helen helped her with her bag and not that soon after, Ria disappeared into her house.
Once Helen got back, she turned the car around and started driving the short distance back to where I lived. I noticed Helen was peaking back at me into her rearview mirror.
“Is something wrong?” I asked.
“It’s nothing… really…” Helen replied. “It’s just that I have a lot of sympathy for what you are going through, especially with Miss Corelia’s situation.”
“Yeah?”
She nodded. “A friend of mine was in a similar situation when we were younger. Ran away from home to be with the person she loved.”
“What happened to them?”
“Oh, right now they are doing fine.” She replied. “It’s just that, back then, it was very rough. But I think they made the right decision in the end.”

“Hmm…”
“I’m not saying you should elope, of course, but I’m confident it’ll all turn out fine in the end.”
“Thank you.”
“And, I’m sure, Miss and Mister Meier would assist you if you needed any help.”
“Mhmm.” I nodded. “They are good people.”
“They are.” Helen then pulled up next to my house. “Let me help you with your bag.”
Helen took off, presumably back to the Meier estate, leaving me by my front door. When I entered, Shima was waiting for me on the living room table.
“Oh, sitting on the table, Shima? Since when do you do this?” I smiled as I came closer to her, I gave her a good couple of scratches on her head as well.
She happily meowed and started purring.
“Yeah, I missed you too.” I then took her in my arms and gave her a gentle squeeze before putting her down on the floor. I inspected her auto feeder which still had plenty of food in it and then emptied out the machine’s water supply so I could give her some fresh water.
I’d read the manual and it said I should only refresh it once a week, but it couldn’t hurt doing it a bit more than usual.
After having restocked her water and giving Shima a couple of treats, I filled myself a glass of you-know-what and decided to hang back on my sofa for a while. I still couldn’t believe how much more comfortable this one was compared to the previous sofa I owned. Goddess, it feels soft enough to sink into, but still hard enough to give my back ample support. -Heaven.-
My comfy time on the sofa was being enlightened by Shima’s presence as well. She had seen me relax and decided that wanted that for herself as well. So now, with a cat on my lap, I was trapped on the sofa for the time being. Not that I disliked that, given the nature of my hostage taker. She spread out completely over my lap, so she was hanging off both sides of my legs. Purring all the way while I patted her on the side of her body, as to avoid the belly danger zone. She’d made herself comfortable, and it didn’t look like she was going to move for a while, so I decided to turn on the tv. However… thanks to the presence of Shima, the television remote was sadly out of reach.
“Fuck.” I chuckled softly to avoid startling my lovely kitten. “If only I knew how to do telekinesis.”
Shima just meowed happily while I continued patting her.
“You know what you are doing, Shima, I know you do.” I smiled and took out my phone, luckily I’d just put that one in my uniform jacket’s pocket.
I browsed to a couple of websites to look through some memes and art pieces, but apparently it was a slow day, as not much new content had been posted. So I looked at some videos instead. I wasn’t really looking for anything in particular, just some vids that had popped up in my recommendations that looked interesting. Today, most of them were about foodstuffs and how they were produced. I particularly liked the video that looked at the difference between fries intended for the air fryer and regular fries.
Sadly enough, shortly after that video my lap got just a bit too hot for Shima, or she just got bored of getting patted and decided to go rest somewhere else. This practically had signaled bedtime for me, as it had already gotten pretty late.
I drank the last bit of blood that was in my glass and deposited the glass into the kitchen sink with a bit of water in it and went to the bathroom to do my evening routine. After which, I just plonked myself down into bed. Tomorrow was going to be a relatively normal day, we did have P.E. but I’d heard that we would be doing gymnastics. Luckily for me, I wouldn’t have to tone down my efforts for that one as I was still equally shit at being flexible than I was before turning into a vampire.
“I do wonder what plan we’ll make for Claire after school… but I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.” I sighed and turned off the lamp on my bedside table. “Good night, Shima.” I called out into the hallway and turned back around to hug my pillow.

"Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what?
