"Hello, Class," said Professor Smith. "Welcome to Cybernetic Ethics 101.
The teacher proceeded with a one-hour lecture covering a timeline of the development and future of cybernetics.
A student raised their hand, "Professor, what happened to the androids?"
"Hmm." Professor Smith paced back and forth. "This class is about human augmentation, but there is a course I teach on 'The Rise and Fall of AI,' and, to put it briefly, humans are what happened."
"Humans?" the student raised their antennas behind their ears, looking perplexed.
"Yes, humans," the teacher nodded. "Around 275 years ago, there was a major fear of humans losing their role and value in society, so our One Earth government passed a long verbose law, but to put it simply, AI and intelligent automation may assist humans but never replace them. So began our cybernetic journey and augmented evolution."
"You mean back in those primitive days when people had AI assistants and robotic servants?"
"Correct, and …” Professor Smith pointed to their head, “now it's all up in here."

Ripped from his old life and even his body, Jack Hearth must now decide what needs to be done to protect those he has claimed as his own. Not all is as it seems though. Those in power do not approve of his quest and will seek to bring ruin to his efforts. This is my very first work, so I ask for understanding should I make a mistake. This story is not on of those stories where the MC gains power and immediately decides to use it for violence. While those types of stories are fun, this isn't one of those. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can.
