《The Alteras Games: World Jumper Book 2》Chapter 26

A young man sat upon a rock overlooking a crumbling world. His crystalline hair floated around his head as he moved back and forth, breathing heavily. When he opened his eyes, his irises looked as if they had snowy mountains in the background. If looked at long enough, people would say it was snowing. Two pieces of the world collided behind him, making no sound at all. A city floated around the place, and bodies could be seen everywhere. Even the Alteras Tower had crumbled to pieces.
"They sure are taking their sweet time." The man known as Ford complained as the world around him flickered. Now the world was back to being whole again. The city was bustling with life, and the Tower stood tall. A sigh of relief came from Ford's mouth when he saw Almark and Lily traveling through a gold gate. "You two screwed up bad," Ford stated while the world flickered again. Almark and Lily took a few steps back at the sight.
"What's going on?" Almark looked around, terrified.
"The past has been changed." Ford got to his feet, staggering. "We need to go back and change the past."
"If it has been changed this much. How can you two still be here?" Almark asked.
"I'm holding our timeline in place. I'm fairly certain we lost the war for our galaxy and a few others. Now that's why me and Lily haven't disappeared yet. We should really get going. It is not easy to hold this timeline in place. It's only a matter of time until he finds us." Ford walked over to them.
"But Ford, I can't take you through time anymore. You are too powerful for me to take leaps back." Almark reminded him.
"Shouldn't be too much of a problem. Most of my energy is holding this timeline in place. We got about a week before this time collapses. Unless he finds us, then I'll have to let go early." Ford looked around. "I see no sign of him."
"Almark, Ford's magic is greatly decreased. You should be able to take us back." Lily looked around as well.
"Did you both forget I need time before another time leap." Almark crossed his arms. He needed time to recharge his power like World Jumpers.
"It's fine. This timeline doesn't exist anymore. I'll help with the travel back." Ford grabbed Almark's arm.
Almark face went pale. "I hate it when we use your Mag-Liv energy to help travel through time." A large gold grandfather clock formed behind Almark. "Let's get this over with." The clock ticked backward, and they moved back in time. Then it spun rapidly, the world around them changing. He felt he was approaching the right time and slowed the clock.
"Keep going a bit further," Ford said.
"I can't go to a time I have already been. So are you want me to go back before we get here?" Almark asked.
"I'll tell you when to stop. Go slow." Ford waved Almark on.
"Why do you all think I can do this easily?" Almark slowed the time down as best he could.
"You're good. Stay here in the time bubble. I'll be back." Ford stepped out into the world and Jumped over to Earth. He found who he had felt out of time and smiled. "How's it going, Jefferson? Hey, Carion, how have you been? Man, you two look a little older than usual. So we have an issue we can discuss here in a bit. I got Almark waiting," Ford froze when he saw the young woman watching them. He took several steps back, hitting a wall. His heart would be going like a jackhammer if he had one. With the sight of Amanda, Ford almost lost hold of the timeline.

"Ford, you survived?" Jefferson walked over and hugged him.
"Eh, boss, that is a younger version of Ford." Carion looked Ford up and down.
Jefferson released Ford and took a closer look. "Only you could tell how old your grandfather is."
"Survived?" Ford asked.
"Grandfather?" Amanda asked at the same time.
Carion shook his head. "Nicely done there, boss." He turned to Amanda. "Yes, Ford is my grandfather. You're holding my mother." He then looks over at Ford. "You disappeared after a major battle to save Earth again. It's been four years since you have been seen. We, at this point, assume you're dead."
"Carion, that is too much information." Jefferson shook his head. "I know I said too much. But you are making sure to say too much."
Carion shrugged. "Yes, yes, I am. This pussy footing around is getting old. Ford, what are you doing here?"
"I Uh, time is," Ford said awkwardly.
"Did we screw the timeline?" Carion pointed at himself and Jefferson.
"I don't." Ford still could not take his eyes off Amanda.
Carion leaned over to Jefferson. "I think you lied a bit about how much Ford loved Grandma."
"Give him a break. Her death was hard on him. After what had happened to her." Jefferson whispered back.
Ford finally calmed down and walked over to Amanda. He reached out and cupped her chin. He then leaned in to kiss her. "Dude, grandma is cheating on Jet right now," Carion smirked.
Amanda blushed and stepped back. "Wait, you're not my Jetsford?"
"That's a yes and no question. Legally, no, I am not your Jetsford. I've lost three bodies already." Ford raised a hand, and it became translucent. "I'm nothing but energy now. As for her cheating on my old self, they aren't married yet."
"Ford, I was joking." Carion shook his head.
"You know what, Carion is right. Fuck the future." Ford got slapped right across the face.
"Don't curse in front of Sarah." Amanda glared at Ford.
"Wow, how did I not get slapped earlier? You know, for saying that word, I'm not about to repeat." Carion added.
"Pussy is not a curse word." Amanda pointed out.
"Right, like I was saying. Carion is right. The future is out of line with ours in a major way. No matter what, at this point, it won't be the same. So I'm going to start this timeline with this." Ford reached out his hands. "Please let me see our daughter."
Amanda didn't see any harm and handed Sarah over. The smile on Ford's face made her smile. "It isn't fair if in the future you get to see her first."
"We don't need to tell him either." Ford put a hand on Sarah's legs and closed his eyes.
"Wait, isn't this going too far." Jefferson looked at Ford worriedly.
"Shut it. We won't exist after this anyways." Carion patted Jefferson on the back.
Before anyone else could talk, the world seemed to shake. Light poured from Ford's hand and into Sarah's legs. It took Everything Amanda had not to run over and take her away. The windows in the house cracked from the air shaking. Jefferson's cape broke apart, creating a net around them before the glass exploded. Pictures fell off the walls. Even the kitchen wasn't safe as sounds of shattering came from the room. People could be heard outside screaming as the water mains broke. Power lines sparked from all the shaking. Then it all stopped suddenly. Ford hurriedly handed Sarah back to her mother.

"Wow, why did we have an earthquake?" Carion looked at Ford curiously.
"Sorry," Ford huffed out, leaning on the wall. "I'm holding another timeline and almost dropped it while fixing Sarah's legs. We also need to go now. I've lost a few days of leeway with that stunt."
"Right, but we have one problem. Carion and I will be pulled back to our future soon." Jefferson pointed out.
"Sorry, Ford, the boss is right. We won't be able to stay much longer. Especially if the timeline is broken." Carion said.
Ford pointed a finger at them, and a small light entered their heads. "There, now let's get moving." He turned to Amanda and walked over to her, hugging her. "It was nice to see you again. But, I must go make sure we all don't die."
"Carion said I die soon anyways." Amanda leaned into Ford.
Ford said nothing as he walked over to Carion. "We will talk later." He grabbed Carion and sent him over to where Almark was waiting. "Don't worry about that anymore. The future we come from is being torn to pieces. None of it will have happened. You won't even remember our conversation unless you want to?"
"Won't I think it's strange that Sarah got her legs fixed and did not remember?" Amanda looked at Ford quizzically.
"I miss how smart you used to be. Do you really want to remember all of this? Just because time is being changed dramatically doesn't mean I won't lose you still." Ford walked over to Jefferson. "Let's get going."
"I do want to remember. If I forget about you, then you won't have existed. When you disappear from our time." Amanda had a tear going down her face. "Don't you at least want to be remembered?"
Ford looked over at Amanda. "Sure," he smiled at her and pointed a finger at her. A small white light flew into her head. She didn't feel anything but rubbed the spot anyways. "Do me a favor. Help Jet make the future better this time around." Ford Jumped back to Almark before he could think. He wanted to stay with her so badly. "Almark, let's go."
Almark went forward in time and stopped. "This should be a few days after we left. I can try to go back a few days."
"No, I don't think I can handle much more. I've used too much energy as is." Ford collapsed on the ground and closed his eyes. "I need to rest."
Carion clapped his hands together. "So, what the hell is going on?"
Almark looked down at Ford and then at Carion. "You're not our Carion."
"No, I'm an older version. What are we doing here?" Carion asked.
"This is when Lily and I went back in time to grab Galaxy Eater." Almark helped Ford back up.
"If I remember right, that was a successful mission. So how did time get messed up here?" Jefferson questioned.
Almark sighed. "I don't know how time got out of whack."
"Out of whack. You have been hanging out with me too long to say that." Carion laughed.
"Glad to see you haven't grown up," Almark said.
"Alright, let's figure out what went wrong, guys." Lily changed the subject.
Ford pulled a coach out of nowhere and sat down. "Only one way the time got out of whack. There must be another Time Walker around."
"Agreed, or do you think it could be him?" Almark rubbed his chin in thought.
"Don't tell me, Fi," Jefferson started, but Almark and Lily grabbed his mouth.
"He is still alive in our time. Do not use his name." Lily uncovered Jefferson's mouth.
"Sorry, it's been a while." Jefferson apologized.
"Yeah, but to be safe, don't use the name here. That's all we need is for him to show up." Ford let out a long sigh. "Now, let us assume that another Time Walker is around. We need to take them out and make sure that Alteras's Tower does not fall."
"How much did you know about the Tower in your time?" Jefferson asked.
"Jefferson, are you getting senile on me? We are here for Galaxy Eater. So we have already met with Alteras and getting ready for the big fight. Which I'll assume we win in the end or did." Ford sounded out of breath.
"Yes, but it comes at a great cost." Jefferson pointed at Almark and Lily. "You both die after a few days of returning back to the future. As for where Carion and I are from. We are the only two left. Ford here has never come back from our last fight. I haven't seen him in over two years."
"Seriously, all that's left of the group is two in the end?" Ford shook his head. "I'm tired as it is, and you're telling me I'm still fighting in the future? Why do I attract so many problems?"
"How do Lily and I die?" Almark asked.
"Not sure. Ford didn't ever talk about your death. But, I know you two had fought him." Jefferson explained.
"Yeah, that would do us in taking him on." Lily looked over to Almark.
"Alright, we don't have a lot of time. I blew a ton of energy fixing Sarah's legs." Everyone looked at Ford like they couldn't believe what he had done. "I may have also almost dropped the cord to our timeline. So we only got three days until I'm out of energy. So you two go grab Jet." Ford pointed at Almark and Lily. "We need to start by not letting him destroy the Tower.
