《How I Became A Jarl》Slaves Arena pt. 4

Basnir was definitely a muscle head. He wasn’t as big as the guy I was fighting in the arena but he is still tall. Like ten centimeters more than me. He is bold, had a brown bear, and the only thing he was wearing were his pants, shoes, and leather pauldron. On his hips, he has two axes.
As for the Gezznir, he was about my height. Short dark hair, wearing black clothes. He didn’t have any weapons on him. He looked well-built and there was an ominous aura coming out of him. It wasn’t a killing intent but a warning.
[ Eric ]
“So are you two the only champions?”
[ Basnir ]
“There is one more. Probably still at the arena.”
[ Eric ]
“There are fights in the night?”
[ Basnir ]
“Mostly against animals or monsters but yes.”
[ Eric ]
“That’s good to hear.”
[ Gezznir ]
“And why is that?” Asked for the first time interested Gezznir.
[ Eric ]
“I know that in the future humans won’t be my biggest problem.”
[ Basnir ]
“Uhh… You’re an interesting person. Can’t wait to see you at the arena!”
I went to my bedroom, and Dian did the same after me. Fortunately, we had separate rooms. I can finally have some privacy and time to think things over.
[ Basnir ]
“This guy is truly special.”
[ Gezznir ]
“Did you feel that?”
[ Basnir ]
“Your aura. Yes. Always…”
[ Gezznir ]
“Yeah. The boy that was with him felt it and didn’t talk at all but he… He ignored it.”
[ Basnir ]
“Yeah. I’ve got used to that but for the first time. It proves that he is strong.”
[ Gezznir ]

“Not only that. It felt like his shadow was going to kill me…”
[ Basnir ]
“His shadow?”
Meanwhile in my room, while I was resting I remembered something.
[ Eric ]
“Skyge you can show yourself. You don’t need to hide anymore. At least in that room.”
Skyge jumped out of my shadow in his small form and started to lick my face. I placed him on the bed where he comfortably sat down.
[ Skyge ]
“Why do I have to hide in your shadow?”
[ Eric ]
“Because you’re my ace in a sleeve. It’s better if no one knows about you and in a critical moment you’ll help me and surprise them all.”
[ Skyge ]
“I’m that special?” Said Skyge as he wiggle his tail and stuck out his tongue.
[ Eric ]
“Yes. You always had been special. Now let’s go to sleep. We have a long day ahead of us.”
[ Skyge ]
“Okey!”
Hiding Skyge in my shadow was not only to have him as a last resort but this clan likes the black market. If they saw him, someone would definitely try to take him away and sell him. He is from rare species of monsters after all.
When I woke up I smelled food. There was food on the table in the dining room. Bread, meat, cheese, and warm milk. The only one by the table was Basnir. For some reason, he looked excited to see me.
[ Basnir ]
“Morning!” He said before stuffing his face with food.
[ Eric ]
“Emm… Good morning.” I sat in front of him. “You love food don’t you?”
[ Basnir ]
“Of course! I’m doing everything I like here! I fight! I eat! And I sleep!”

[ Eric ]
“Very interesting life.”
[ Basnir ]
“And what are you doing?”
[ Eric ]
“Fighting both people and monsters, helping villagers from my hometown. Maybe not only there… there was also this other clan I helped. Playing hero might sound better.”
[ Basnir ]
“Wow… That is interesting life…” Said amazed Basnir.
While we were talking the boy entered the room with a plate of meat placing it by Basnir. He looked at me waiting for some kind of response. While he was looking at me, Basnir was rethinking his whole life.
[ Servant ]
“When are we going to do it?”
[ Eric ]
“Huh? Do what?”
[ Servant ]
“Training! Something you’re supposed to do!”
[ Eric ]
“Oh, yeah. I told you that rest is important.”
[ Servant ]
“Doesn’t look like your pupil is following that rule.”
[ Eric ]
“What do you mean?”
[ Servant ]
“He’s been training for two hours already.”
[ Eric ]
“He is a hard-working type of guy. Very useful.”
[ Servant ]
“You’re just like him…” He said as he gave me a disgusted look.
[ Eric ]
“Okay! Enough with that. I’ll be on the training grounds in five minutes.”
