《Judah Judas Adventures》Chapter 173 - The errand at Marketplace

A few moments later, I get back to the room, after I've been discussing with my old friends at the cage. I told them almost everything about the story of how I've got here. But I didn't told them about Fiona because it was a bit too much for them when they realized I met the King and got put on two warfare campaigns (technically speaking, it was only the one against Turkish Empire, the one against Moldovia was not even a campaign, more like a small battle, then a combining force moment).
"Oh, Judah." says Fiona worried. "Where have you been?"
"Um... I was outside." I lie to her. "I-I looked at the sky."
"Judah. I know when you lie you look left-right-left-right and bite your lips."
"What? No. I do not do that." (I did that.)
"Judah. You can tell me. You are my squire for almost three years. Soon you will become a fully fledged knight."
"Partially?"
"Right... Partially." (I become half official knight because of the king deciding to build an Academy for us warriors where we will learn three years of basic fighting).
I sigh, and then I tell her about the situation of my two childhood friends being captured, looked in a cage and probably about to be killed and transformed into dishes for this family of demons disguised in human skins.
"I see. In that case, we will try and start a possible attack tomorrow."
"Huh?" I say surprised. "That soon?!"
"We did not get the information. But we got something much more important. The Big Father will send us tomorrow to a mission to gather the poison he ordered from someone at the marketplace. And, if the memory of the slave woman I possess tells me right, the poison won't belong to us or nay human, rather to someone on his level."
"How?" I asked feeling a bit sceptical about all of this.
"The woman slave was once... used (raped) by the Big Father Thornosian. And he said something about poisoning someone the same as him a few days later." she looks at the small window on this room. "If he will poison the other member of the Demons, we might be able to hit two rabbits with one arrow."
"Tomorrow it will be the day."
"I hope so. You can summon an animal of yours to send a message to the king."
"You men Vulture?"
"He can do that? I remember he can only tell us the surroundings and the terrain."
"He can also send things to a location. But he can only send it. So writing on a parchment it will be great."
"The only problem is that we do not have any piece of parchment." says Fiona.
"We will have to "borrow it" from the people here." I say to her, and she nodded her head in agreement.

I was about to head outside, but Fiona, told me to stay here, and sit here. She told me she has to do it because I am a valuable asset to this small mission. And I agree with her because if I get caught, who will summon the "Vulture" with the small wand hidden under the clothes of mine?
It didn't took long for Fiona to come back with a piece of parchment and with a small feather in ink used to write. Fiona quickly used all of the ink on that feather to write a short message to the King. The message written was: "Dinner tomorrow. Prepare the elite forces and strongest knights.". And after this, she looks at me and told me to summon the eagle to deliver this message to the King Julius.
I summoned the bird by suing the spell "Vulture". I told the bird to fly to the Kingdom of Romania, Palace and deliver this message to King Julius. The bird nodded in agreement, took the parchment by using his beak, and fled out of this room fast.
When the bird left, Fiona and I are going to our beds. We stay up for a few more moments until our eyes closes, and we are fading into the dream's world. I don't know if Fiona was dreaming, but I sure as hell I was not dreaming, I just slept without dreaming about anything.
***
Tomorrow morning, we are wakened up by the sounds of an explosion outside this house and our basement. We quickly get on our feet, we put our boots and leave the basement in a hurry. Thankfully, we have slept in our slaves clothes from the days we have come here. As we got outside, we see there the source of the explosion.
Outside, there is a man, dressed in noble clothes, huge, fat and with orange long hair, having a big cigar on his mouth. He has a cane that radiates fire and his shoes are literally on fire. Outside it was not only us, it was also the demon family, who were not surprised as us. They looked happy at the huge man with fire.
"What are you two doing here?" asks the Big Father Thornosian angry at us. "You two have to go to the marketplace!"
"Y-Yes, sir." says Fiona acting scared.
Fiona and I are walking inside the house, we go into the storage room, and we take from there the basket with a parchment list put by the Big Mother Thornosian. On the list it says we have to take more than what we thought we have to take. And there is also a small bag with gold coins which it is going to be used to buy the things.
"Before we leave." says Fiona to me. "I want you to inform you, that man is the third demon. He is dangerous as these. So we have to be careful how we will act tonight, okay?"

"What is going on tonight? We will attack, then?" I ask her.
"Maybe... If things go well."
"If it is. We will save the people from the cells?"
"We will, Judah."
We both then look at the door from the hallway, that it leads to the cells where the unlucky people are trapped, locked and await for their death. On this night, it might be their day of freedom.
***
After we left the huge house, we are walking on foot to the nearest market zone where we have to take the poison Thornosian Father will need it to use on tonight dinner. But on whom exactly? This is a question I and Fiona we are asking. A poison can be either used for one or one more people. I remember in one novel I read at the Orphanage, a man made a big quantity of poison to more than six people rather than putting small equal parts of a small poison bottle on all six people. And this caused only a stomach ache, not death.
Anyway, we left the big house, and head to the marketplace by walking rather than taking anything else. Thankfully, that said marketplace it is not very far, at approximately of almost half a clock of walking. We did get there safely and not attracting much attention after us.
At the marketplace, we see lots of merchants, all selling weapons, goods, potions, clothes, food and much more things. We did not got overwhelmed by this because this might be a big marketplace, but not as big as the ones in the kingdom I live in and I with Diana use as a source to get income by selling meat, fur and weapons.
Fiona goes to the stalls where merchants are selling vegetables and fruits, while I stay behind her, playing the role of the slave child even outside the house of Thornosian family because the marketplace it's familiar with Thornosian family slaves. Fiona buys a few carrots, potatoes, onions and any other vegetables, enough to almost fill the basket.
After she bought the vegetables and some fruits, she looks at me.
"Can you go to a stall and buy a knife." she says on a tone as she speaks on the same tone on the Thornosian family house.
"Sure thing." I say to Fiona and I walk to a stall that sells knives and weapons.
I look at the stall, I observe their very many types of weapons. From small daggers to swords, and appliances such as a wooden fork, a wooden spoon, knife made out of cooper and many other types of weapons. But I was only interested in a small knife. So I ask the merchant about a knife, and the man sold me a common knife used for cutting and peeling. I bought that knife by using three gold coins Fiona gave me before I was going to the stall to buy the instrument she desired.
I take the knife, and I was about to hand to Fiona, but she tells me.
"Keep it hidden under clothes."
"Oh. Alright." I do as she say, I hid the knife under my clothes and I walk with her to the next stall that sells potions.
After a few moments, we arrive at the stall that sells potions, we take a bottle from the seller that was specially made a few days ago by the Thornosian family. The seller only handed the bottle, not wanting a gold coin back.
"Enjoy tonight dinner." he says after has a look at the vegetables on Fiona basket.
Fiona only nods her head in agreement, and we left the marketplace. Ready to go at the house by taking the same road we took to get here.
After we left the marketplace, a few soldiers got in our way, Romanian special knights have stopped us from moving, and they look at Fiona.
"We have got the message."
"The attack will begin tonight. Has the King sent one of the ten powerful knights?" asks Fiona in her normal voice.
"He sends five." says the knight who is believed to lead the group of nineteen knights.
"Good."
"We will be hidden at a distance from two hundred steps from the big house. When the time will come, we will attack the house and seize the targets."
"Not seize. Eliminate them." says Fiona to that man. "The third target is also there. If we manage to kill all two of them, we will be able to stop the event."
"What event?" I ask Fiona, but she did not listen to me. Nor any knight from the special category.
"The Majesty ordered us to either seize or kill the creatures."
"So, we will kill them." says Fiona feeling a bit irritated. "Now. we have to go. Tonight I will signal you by burning the roof of the big house. When the burning will happen, this will be the signal to go all out."
"Got it." says the knight, and the band of knights is going in the marketplace.
After the squad of knight left, Fiona and I continued to walk to the house. None of us wanted to talk about the event. After we arrived at the house, Big Father saw us coming with the grocers, and yelled at us to go at the kitchen and prepare the breakfast for them. He ordered us to make scrambled eggs with sheep meat. We obey the orders and head to the kitchen zone, preparing the breakfast.

Blightbane
Miscellaneous Notes: - I want to see about making a crude map of Shroud to help readers. - I also want to get back to writing Coalescence updates. Schedule Notes: - None for now, updates when I can. [ Thank you for your patience and support as I improve my writing and storytelling abilities. I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground. A young man named Caim has been uprooted from his former life and transported to The Shrouded Theocracy, an isolationist nation with fanatical policies. He must struggle to survive with only an unfamiliar strain of magic to aid him. There is a secret to this magic. One he knows very little about. He intends to explore just what makes this magic special. On the far border of the theocracy, a mage scientist named Inis discovers a revolutionary new way to infuse strength from defeated blightbeasts. Using herself as a test subject, this process allows her to grasp magical concepts previously thought beyond her reach. Though she tries to document any side effects that arise, something escapes her awareness. She is playing with a dangerous force that will claim her most treasured asset if she isn't careful. Everyone and everything on the planet is a part of the experiment. The experiment is a lie.

Wet world wonderland.
A young girl of 16 years dies by drowning, and is reincarnated as a living Puddle of Water.Through many fantastical fun filled and wacky adventures our Protagonist will lead a better life than her last.Thank you for your time. Something I want to add, is that this story is written in first person, and I plan to carry on with it for a LONG time.-(Maybe thousands of chapters in size, until the story literally runs out of any potential to keep going.) So yes, there's still a lot of mystery and build up I have planned for future adventures. Wet World Wonderland is a story primarily concerned with the depth and complexity of its world and characters. So forgive me if something seems off, or isn't made immediately clear. I would love to talk, but try and consider that I might have something planned.(Not that you can't still criticize, of course. If you've got an opinion on something, I'd love to hear it.) If you plan on rating WWW, please read until chapter 20. WWW isn't the kind of story you can start judging from the first five chapters. Although, I admit I'm not so sure if 20 chapters in is good enough to judge it either, but I would still advise reading to at least that point. Also, if you have a problem with something in the story, please PM me, and I would love to talk about it. As of 1/19/2021 I have just added WWW's (Wet World Wonderland's) New Cover-Art. I know it's a bit weird, and probably sudden. And with all things considered, it may never make sense. But canonically with lore and info that has, or will be revealed in coming chapters, you might be able to put something together. Anyways, I hope you like it. Also, new symbol, at the top left of the image, hope you all like that too.As of 5/16/2022 the revised cover art for WWW has been uploaded, same as before with the first cover art. I hope you like it. Cover Art Credit goes to Itreallyisyaboi. They're on Instragram.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
