《Divine Creatures》Re write is up!

The rewrite has launched! I'm queuing up all the chapters for book 1 to post on the daily. In the meantime, they're up on Patreon. While I did add two new chapters (because the Sortalheim arc really was too short for all that happened, and will happen in book 2), most of the reworking has been to change the setting enough that I convinced myself the fanfic tag is no longer deserved. While that's going on, I'll be continuity checking what I've written for book 2 and adding those chapters to the release queue as they get edited. Patreon patrons will get chapters early.
Go here for the rewritten story:

Oh, and I'll be pulling down the chapters here. That will happen no sooner than the day after this posts. I won't delete the story because I've been that reader who took time off from RoyalRoad reading (because of life and physical books my friends sent my way) only to come back and discover stories missing off my Follow List with no idea what happened to them.
Additionally, I'm posting the story I was writing when I first discovered Chatfield's "Two Week Curse", book 1 of his Ten Realms series. I haven't managed to come up with a better title than the main character's name - if you read it and like it, feel free to drop title suggestions in the comments. It's set in the world Kestra comes from and is posting here on RoyalRoad as Cerise.

On the day Cerise and her best friend Mykhal return from getting their classes, miners from their village rebel. Fearing the reaction of their liege lord, Cerise's family flee. Having no better destination in mind, they turn their steps toward the newly discovered Sea Crest Dungeon.
This story is intended to be mostly light hearted and low conflict: a feel-good, no-stress read.
Book 1 tells the story of Cerise, Mykhal, and Cerise's parents as they travel across the width of Druerjan.
I've got chapters queued up for Tuesday releases.

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.
