《Rubik’s Man: I’m Rich & You’re Dead》Chapter 47 - The Night Of The Full Moon

“Wow! That was a lot of fun! I can’t wait for us to do it again.” Razi came out of a bar staggering with her heels in her hands. She was lucky that the sidewalk was clean enough for her to walk barefoot.
Smoke Pac came out after her seconds later, looking tipsy, but he was more in control of his bodily functions. While he was busy sparking a cigar, he looked across the street and saw Razi climbing atop the car bonnet to twerk in public.
“Alright, hot sauce, cool it before you give these people the wrong impression.” Smoke Pac went over there and dragged her from the bonnet. “Get your ass down from there and get in the car.”
“Ok, daddy. Don’t be such a buzzkill.” She dropped her head roughly onto Smoke Pac’s shoulder then burped up a bit of liquor that stained his shirt. Afterwards, she said, “This was your idea for us to celebrate, remember?”
“Don’t remind me. I’m regretting it already.” Smoke Pac assisted Razi into the back seat of the car. He made her lie down before he climbed around the steering wheel.
“Hey, man wait up!”
“Hmm?” About to drive away, Smoke Pac looked outside the window and saw a rotund man coming towards him. He was rushing with a cup of liquor in his hand, so he was careful not to spill it. “What do you want?”
Reaching the vehicle, the man responded to Smoke Pac’s question. “Your girl forgot her phone on the counter. Here it is.” He pushed the phone through the window.
“Pass it to the back.”
The man shifted his sight to Razi who had her hand outstretched. He placed the phone in her palm.
Razi smiled. “Thanks for bringing me my phone. You are a sweet man. Have a good night.”
“Same to you, miss.” The Good Samaritan went back across the street into the bar. Afterwards, Smoke Pac pulled away from the curb onto the main road.
“My precious phone and I have been reunited at last!” Still in her drunken state, Razi gave her phone a kiss which stained the screen with her lipstick.
Smoke Pac looked at her disgusted appearance through the mirror. Her mascara was dripping beneath her eyes. “You’re lucky to get your phone back. Most people wouldn’t even give a shit. I know I wouldn’t.”
“That's because you are a heartless man. How do you even live with yourself?”
Smoke Pac asserted, “I live just fine.”

“Oh really?” Razi flung her right hand forward to rub his face. “Smushy-Smushy.”
“Hey, I’m driving here.” He used his head to push her hand away.
“Only a gigantic pussy can’t drive without looking at the road.” She mocked him. “Are you a gigantic pussy? Let’s find out.” Razi struggled to sit upright then tossed both her arms around the driver’s seat to cover Smoke Pac’s eyes.
“What the fuck!” Smoke Pac almost swerved off the road due to his impaired vision. He was lucky that no cops were present in the vicinity, otherwise, blood would have spilt all over the asphalt.
“Hehehehe…” Razi kept laughing like a deranged person.
Smoke Pac removed her hands from his face then pushed her back into her seat. “Sit the hell back and behave yourself!” The livid intonation in his voice was recognized by the Enslavement Rubik’s Cube. It issued a compelling force that made Razi’s chest inflamed.
“Cough! Cough!” Razi spat out black smoke. The brief pain she experienced made her pass out.
“Finally, some damn peace and quiet.” Smoke Pac was relieved that she was sleeping. In that state, she wouldn’t be able to cause any more trouble. He enjoyed the peaceful drive back to the Valley.

The mansion’s main gate automatically opened as the cherry-flavoured Chevrolet Corvette approaches. Smoke Pac arrived almost at the stroke of midnight. He parked the car in the paved driveway then got out to assist Razi.
“Hey, sleepy head, wake up.” He pulled the rear door; slapped Razi’s face a couple of times but she was still out cold. He had to drag her out of the vehicle and tossed her over his shoulder to carry her inside.
“Dammit, you’re making me do extra work.” He spanked her buttocks lightly as he brought her up the steps where he set her down against the door. “Where is the key?”
While Smoke Pac was searching Razi for the important item needed to unlock the door, he was unaware that he was being watched by a pair of sinister eyes. The full moon was concealed behind thick layers of clouds, so it provided a shade best suited for beastly creatures to roam.
“There we go.” Smoke Pac jimmied the lock open. Just as he was about to set foot inside the mansion, he heard the engines of several vehicle approaching and gave his attention to the main gate.
Boom!
The vehicle leading the group broke through the gate. It cleared a path for the others to follow.

“What the hell?” Smoke Pac identified over 6 vehicles invading the property. Their bright lights made him slightly cover his eyes to block their glare, even Razi was woken up by it.
Smoke Pac lowered his hand to get a clear view of the intruder after the vehicles were parked and their engines shut off. “I wasn’t expecting any guests. Were you?” He looked at Razi for an answer.
“No.” Razi denied inviting anyone to the mansion as she struggled to her feet.
“Then who could they be?” Thought, Smoke Pac.
Very soon, they both got to find out the identity of the uninvited guests. The vehicle doors began to open one by one, pouring out legions of men dressed in dark suits. They were obvious gangsters by the look of it. Some of them had scary-looking tattoos across their bodies and others had long scars running along their faces.
Thus far, Smoke Pac didn’t recognise any of those men who were lining off in the driveway below him. They formed a gap in their formation to welcome the reveal of their employer. An old man stepped to the forefront of the fray, holding his cane for support.
“I’m so glad you showed up. I was beginning to think that I had to burn this place to the ground before you got here.”
“Huh…?” After hearing this crusty voice, Smoke Pac and Razi recognized who was causing trouble at their doorstep.
The moonlight showed itself at the right moment to illuminate Bensen’s furious face. An air of vengeance permeated him as he thirst to get even with the culprit responsible for the death of his son.
Razi came forward and asked in a hurry, “Uncle, what are you doing here? A day hasn’t gone by, yet you’ve come to ruin my inheritance.”
“Silence, you dumb wench!” Bensen aimed his cane at Razi then retorted, “You murdered my boy in cold blood. Did you think I was just going sit back and do nothing while you ride off into the sunset with that man?”
“What, Charlie is dead?” Razi was surprised to hear this. She glanced over at Smoke Pac with her eyes peeled. Before the situation got out of hand, she thought it best to make Bensen aware of what went down back at Prime Head.
“We didn’t mean for any of this to happen. Charlie out rightly attacked me in the parking lot, demanding that I give him the document. He even bruised my face, see.” She showed off the livid markings. “My man only did what he thought necessary to protect me. I never thought that Charlie would lose his life.”
Bensen was displeased with Razi’s explanation. “So you are going to stand there, look me in the face and tell me that my son deserved to die so horrendously. How dare you justify his death?”
Razi broke down in tears while saying, “No, you got it wrong, uncle. I wasn’t trying to justify anything…”
“Shut up! SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!” Bensen lashed his loud voice at her which made her stumbled backwards.
“I’ll deal with you later. First, this bastard will have to answer for his crimes.” He looked at the menacing character beside Razi. “I’m talking to you, Pink Diamond or should I say… Smoke Pac?”
“Oh?” Smoke Pac acted surprised that his identity was known. “So you’ve figured me out, old man. Since when?”
“I had my suspicions since I laid my eyes on you. The death of my son confirmed it. Only a ruthless bastard like you would murder him in such a deplorable way.”
Smoke Pac raised his hands and said. “That’s right. I am Smoke Pac and I killed that stupid son of yours. You’ve should have taught him some manners before you unleash him in the streets.”
“How dare you lecture me about my son?” Bensen was so upset that he gritted his teeth until a tooth popped out.
“Careful what you say, geezer. Your dentures cannot handle the pressure.” Smoke Pac mocked Bensen. “I’m curious. If you know I am the one who murdered your son, why aren’t the cops here?”
“Why would I alert those incompetent pigs to put you behind bars?” Bensen shouted, “Screw that! I’m not giving you the privilege to rot in jail while eating 3 meals a day. I rather kill you myself. It is only right for a father to avenge his son.”
“I can agree with that.” Smoke Pac’s eyes drifted onto the legion of men. “If you’ve come here to kill me yourself, why did you bring along so many goons?”
“They are here to wear you down. Sadly, I’m not in my prime anymore so I have to take precautions.” Bensen directed his sight to his army. “Men, go and bring me that bastard's head! I’ll toss in a bonus of a million Crowns to whoever brings him to his knees!”
“Piece of cake.”
“He’s as good as dead.”

Note: This is a story I wrote when I was in high school, and have only recently moved it here to Royal Road. It was my first stab at writing an original fiction of my own, and though I had many things planned for it, I don't think I'll be continuing this now or in the forseeable future.
