《How I Became A Jarl》War For Freedom pt. 5

Since we weren’t well equipped for the battle, the jarl gave us swords and a leather chest plate. As I expected, Civilians were in different formations from bandits but were all put in the front. The archers began shooting at the enemy. Some people wanted to run away because of no shields but bandits blocked them. They were used as meat shields. I watched them die, the people I promised to help. After the rain of arrows, soldiers began their assault.
[ Eric ]
“Change of plans! Dian, we’re going to the frontline. Skyge. You go with Stella to the general. He needs to stick to the plan.”
[ Skyge ]
“Understood.”
The general was watching the battle from the hill with a mug of beer in his hand. He was surprised by Stella riding Skyge who jumped in front of him. There was pure disgust on his face after seeing her. This face disappeared once he looked at the wolf. The general only saw Skyge in his small form.
[ Stella ]
“You’re making a mistake mister.”
[ General ]
“Mistake? I’m doing nothing wrong. That’s how battles look like kid.”
[ Stella ]
“I didn’t say you’re doing something wrong. But you promised something different to Uncle Eric.”
[ General ]
“I’m in command around here. Not him.”
[ Stella ]
“You misunderstood me, mister. I’m not asking you. I command you.” Said Stella as she raised a spear from the ground and she put the spear to his neck.
At first, he wanted to laugh at her but the longer he looked at her face with a big smile the more scared he felt. He looked at one of his guards who were also surprised. He understood his signal and got on a horse to inform soldiers to change the strategy.

[ Skyge ]
“Looks like the general agreed to stick with your idea.”
When I looked at the hill where the general is, I saw a horseman going toward the soldiers. He blew a horn to get everyone's attention and relayed the orders. As I instructed they blocked the path of all civilians and began pushing them behind. We were separating them from the bandits. Since the people were scared they were resisting. The ones that were thrown behind were confused and did nothing.
[ Eric ]
“Lay down your weapons we’re here to save you!”
They did just as I said. Hope was finally in front of them. A chance to come back to their normal lives. We were able to help so many people but things never could go this smoothly. There was a loud inhuman scream that made everyone go silent. Then there were screams of men dying. One of the soldiers was sent flying behind the lines. I went to check on him but he was dead. His entire chest was dented.
The soldiers looked worried some even wanted to run away. Someone strong is out there and is killing them in horrible ways. When I looked into the sky I saw a few birds flying around. Fortunately one of them was a bird that I “tamed”. When I looked through its eyes, I saw a couple of monsters on the battlefield. They were a little bit taller than most of the soldiers. Very muscular and human-like if not for their one massive hand and weirdly shaped body.
Civilians were backing away from the monsters since they were attacking everyone. Two monsters were fighting each other for a brief moment but they suddenly stopped. Soldiers were able to put them down but it wasn’t easy. The monsters didn’t react to attacks. Like they felt nothing.

[ Eric ]
“Dian. Wait here and help the civilians. There is something out there that you shouldn’t fight yet.” I said as I began running toward the battle.
[ Dian ]
“What do you mean?!”
Thanks to my “Expert Proprioception” I smoothly passed the soldiers and didn’t lose much speed. When I saw one of the monsters without much thinking I jumped to it and with my sword I decapitated it. Seeing that the other monsters began moving toward me. Killing everyone on their path. I grabbed the first ax that I saw and threw it at the closest monster. Ax in his head wasn’t enough to kill it. I dodged its first attack and stabbed it in the heart. Fortunately, other monsters were killed by the soldiers. Some civilians in pure chaos attacked the soldiers which meant they wouldn’t help them anymore. Those who were pulled to the other side lived but the rest were killed by the monster or soldiers.
[ Eric ]
“Dian! Dian! Where are you?!” I shouted to find Dian, since all that was left, were the bandits.
[ Dian ]
“I’m here!” Shouted Dian as he ran toward me.
[ Eric ]
“Take the civilians to general. He will take care of them.”
[ Dian ]
“What about the battle? I can fight!”
[ Eric ]
“Thousand against two hundred and you want to join in? There is no need.”
[ Dian ]
“Then what are you going to do?”
[ Eric ]
“I’m going after Meka.”
I don’t know how the monsters got here but I don’t think they were always like that. This Meka has dangerous power. I need to take care of him before he does something surprising again. As I asked, Dian took all the people to general.
[ General ]
“Traitors are coming…”
[ Stella ]
“Ekhm… Civilians.” Said Stella as she showed a spear before the general’s eyes.
[ General ]
“Right… Civilians…”

Shieldmaiden: Unbroken
An instant is all that's needed to change a persons life. A single encounter. A single desire can bring together many people to change the world. One thought. From the moment humanity began its course of self-destruction, there were those who desired to change the world for the better. To stop the harm to their planet, and themselves, a group of people came together and formed a world from their imaginations. They decided that humanity could not be a part of the world they would destroy, and would allow the world to recoup. They would pull the people from their world in groups, and until everyone was gone, every month more people would be brought to this new world. An unfamiliar world. An unfamiliar people. An unfamiliar system. I never expected to write a LITRPG, or an Isekai, and I'm not confident I can do it well, but I liked writing the first chapters, so I'm gonna try my best! Also, I don't recommend reading it on mobile.
