《Spike Hellsing Autobiography: The Chosen》Chapter Seven - Preparation

The Chosen Home-World, or just Home-World for short. Boom that was easy (it only took 1,000 years).
My V.R. universe had become the largest part of the growing kingdom. My perfect Synthetic Multi-verse, gathering souls and providing them with a safe environment to thrive, but it was still entirely dependent on magi-tech.
To avoid losing myself in my dream again, I connected my lucid dream pendant to my soul-trap. My dream was integrated into my growing V.R. universe, populated by citizens of the chosen kingdom. But there were people from my past, and souls that could not be reacquired with simple magi-tech exploitation.
Time travel was no longer possible. I assumed it had something to do with Infinity reconnecting with the multi-verse; Like some kind of paradox prevention system had recently been put in place.
I remembered Quin, and the space station that we had been transported to, 1,000 years in the future… Which was actually present day. Soon our self imposed non-contact policy would soon be coming to an end.
As we prepared for deep space travel Emalts' living wood-like spaceship attached itself to The Boss, and integrated itself like equipping the massive organic vessel with plant armour. It sprouted new drives and new modules, and even seemed to create hybrid systems. The interior of the resulting conglomerate space vessel was constantly shifting over the next few weeks. It would not have taken that long to reach the space station we intended to revisit, however we had to wait until the specific stardate that we had previously visited; As to avoid making contact with our past selves.
Upon arriving at the space station we quickly detected a familiar presence. We docked our newly developed vessel with the space station and made our way toward the same gathering area we had 1,000 years prior, or maybe a few days depending on your perspective.
Once there we came across Murgil and Quin already deep in conversation. I was able to gather that Quin had been stranded in a pocket of his universe severed from the multi-verse many eons ago. Quin was able to use the last dwindling sections of his home-universe to travel in time. But once his universe had completely receded, he no longer had any method of moving through time.
Furthermore he explained that he brought us to this time and place because it was imperative that this specific timeline not be disturbed. He thanked us for preserving this specific timeline explaining that he likely would have been erased completely had we altered the path of events that he had anchored his final temporal incarnation to.

Next I informed Murgil of my plan to re-establish Chaos within’ Infinity. He assisted me in the development of many systems to improve the moderation of the soul-trap integration with Lucid and the kingdom’s V.R. universe. But no matter how hard we searched we could not find Chaos within the system. We searched the logs and even had Halina assist, and it seemed I had not captured his soul.
There was one explanation that Murgil seemed rather fond of. He believed that the time pathways I attempted to use did not travel in one direction. He believed that my foolish attempts to gather souls from the past could have caused souls to be diverted into alternate timeways. Combined with the aforementioned decay of magi-tech; which Murgil confirmed. Also revealing that [time Magi-tech] was not the only weakening pillar of reality.
It seemed the universe’s connection to the multi-verse was causing far more havoc then anyone had expected, it seemed forces from beyond had been waiting for an opportunity to feast on the newly exposed realm now available to them. It seemed time was running short.
Our first step was to locate Dash, as the ambassador for the dragonflight on our homeworld of Denisea, she would likely have information that could assist us in our search across the splintered timelines. Murgil and Quin joined us aboard our newly improved vessel and we warped to Denisea. Before long we were disembarking at the dragon capital. It was more like a single fortified palace, but as most people know, the real dwellings lay deep underground. We were met by a shabby looking guard who sent another to send word of our arrival, and began to escort us into the main structure.
We were led into a grand hall and asked to wait there for our meeting. It was not long before a beautiful woman entered the great hall, adorned in pearl white plate mail including a full naked helmet. As she approached she waved her hand and the helmet dissipated into a cloud of sparkling dust. As her face was revealed our eyes met, it was Dash. She leapt from the elevated doorway directly into my arms. Considering I was standing 20 feet away from her, she struck me with a pretty remarkable force. At first I flinched and reached for the hilt of my blade, but realising who this was I extended my arms and caught her. I grabbed her by the waist and twirled her around to bleed off the momentum, only stumbling slightly. I braced for impact but she wrapped around me as if falling into bed. It seemed like an eternity since the last time I had felt the loving embrace of another. I sunk my arms into her and buried my face into her hair breathing her in. My heart melted and I’m pretty sure she may have started to cry, but I couldn;t say for sure…. Once we had regained our composure we began to talk business.

Dash seemed to have a very in depth understanding of the situation, and even had a lead on the location of Chaos. She believed that the universe had been split back into its original pieces, and that entities with ancient souls were returned to their home realms. Murgil seemed to have a greater grasp on the mechanics of it all so I sort of left it to the others to work out the details.
I was daydreaming about Lady Darkrose as I often did and began combing through my data banks for any information regarding her people. To my surprise, the data I had gathered from the derelict spaceship we found; the one containing storage magi-tech orbiting the centre of the universe. It was them, and the system logs seemed to indicate that they had been attacked by someone they referred to as the forsaken one… Ironic, if this was who I thought it was…. That the forsaken by the forsaken is actually the redeemed….
So it was time to prepare to venture into the multiverse, it was time to recover my royal ring: It had spent the last few hundred years sitting in the tomb of my ancestors… We gathered the best engineers from every kingdom and began sending Halina’s nanobots into the multiverse. Well it was explained to me that we only needed to probe the local multiverse. Halina almost immediately made several hits on interesting entities. Of course the first priority was to establish contact with Chaos. So we boarded the newly upgraded transdimensional spaceship and completed preparations for a reality jump.
We found ourselves in a strangely familiar space, our sensors detected the presence of a miraculously small dimension. It didn’t take long for this place’s single denazin to contact us. “Now you know of the multiverse, but you still know nothing.” The voice of Chaos ripped through the bridge of our remarkable vessel.
“Well why don’t you fill us in? Respectfully.” I sternly declared. I mentally instructed Halina to use her nanobots to confine Chaos and… Encourage him to be civil.
“How dare you!” Chaos’s diminishing voice stated. “Fine fine, stop this, I’ll cooperate!” Just then we saw the shadow of a dragon pass over the command deck. There was a thud on the deck and so we excited the cabin. Outside we could just see the final stages of a dragonic transformation. Chaos’s humanoid form retained many dragonic features, including horns, wings, and a tail. He had long back hair with red streaks running through it. “Welcome to my prison.” he cracked his knuckles and continued. “Is there somewhere we can sit down and have a drink? This could be a long story.” I queried Halina whether or not his cooperation was her doing, but she claimed he was acting voluntarily. So we lead our previous nemesis into the underbelly of our ship to share a few cold ones.
Chaos revealed the true nature of Infinity, as well as Destiny’s previous doings. Destiny was not a nobel god, she was not a creator. According to Chaos, she was a thief. He claimed that she stole the very space her universe was made up of. At first it was hard to believe, but the pieces fit. Infinity was not a single universe separate from the multiverse, it was a section of the multiverse, separated from the multiverse. The plane of reality we had spent the vast majority of our lives in, was in fact only a small section of a single universe. One of many that had been isolated at the point of Infinity’s creation. The dwindling universe Lilith and my symbiote had come from, Quin and his temporal pathways, GuiltyC0de, and Chaos all came from other universes. Even Lady Darkrose’s ancestors.
Chaos knew why we were there, and assured us that Infinity could be saved. We were to free him from this prison and unleash him into infinity. He could maintain chaos, and prevent the death of the universe.
