《How I Became A Jarl》Wanna Be Hero pt. 2

I was going to reach for my ax but then I remembered that I didn’t take any weapon with me. This whole time we were repairing the village I forgot how often I would need a weapon in this world. The first game came at me with his sword. He waved it around but it was pretty easy to dodge. Probably because he was drunk a bit. I twisted his wrist to make him drop his weapon and slapped him with an open hand in the throat.
While he tried to catch breath his friend grabbed him and wanted to move him away to attack me but I moved around with him and pushed them both to the ground. The guy that I punched in the face approached me from the back and choked me with his arms. I couldn’t free myself. He was much stronger than me.
I’m sorry for what I’m about to do but you left me no other choice. I tried to fall with him to the ground by doing that I got a little space between him and me. Right and that moment I raised my left leg and kicked him in the nuts. When he realized me I grabbed his hand and threw him over me to the ground.
[ Eric ]
“It’s really nice technique. Hope it’ll work for you three or do you want me to try again?”
They got up as fast as they could and ran away. Luckily I didn’t have to beat them more in front of the kid. I apologized to the owner for the fight. As expected he asked me to leave. I left the tip of one silver coin for the trouble. I wanted to ask them about this special person but they wanted me out as fast as possible. When I left the tavern there were five guards standing.

[ Guard’s Captain ]
“Surrender yourself peacefully criminal.”
[ Eric ]
“Criminal? I only defended this kid from those bastards.”
[ Guard’s Captain ]
“You’re under arrest for attacking the city guards! Raise your hands and surrender!” Captain raised his right hand and two guards aimed their bows at me.
[ Eric ]
“Hey! Hey! Calm down there is a kid with me!”
As I was arguing with the guards a fog appeared out of nowhere. It was so thick that I couldn’t see anything. I barely could see my own hands. I could hear the guards talking to each other. Then I heard footsteps that were coming toward me but at the last moment, it was like it turned almost in front of me.
[ Eric ]
“Stella. Where are you?” I whispered to not so guards wouldn’t catch me.
There was no response. I slowly walked toward the tavern that was right behind me but after ten, twenty, and fifty steps I didn’t reach it. Almost like I was walking in one place. Out of nowhere someone grabbed me and pulled out. I was on the ground by the tavern entrance. I raised my fists to get ready to fight but in front of me didn’t stand guard but a boy. He wears simply grey clothing with his left sleeve pulled up. On his belt, he has a short sword. He has long dark hair wrapped in a braid. He looked like he was sixteen years old or something like that.
[ Boy ]
“I’m here to help. So you can put your fists away.”
[ Eric ]
“Are you the one who made this fog?”
[ Boy ]
“Yes! This spell of mine makes a mist that makes people lose their sense of direction so it’s impossible to leave the mist without my help!” Said the boy with excitement.

[ Eric ]
“Have you seen a small girl with a wolf?! She was right behind me!”
[ Boy ]
“But there was no one beside you.”
[ Eric ]
“What do you mean? She was behind my back this whole time. Where is she?”
[ Stella ]
“I’m right here.” Standing right by my side with Skyge in her hands.
[ Eric ]
“Were you behind me all this time?”
[ Stella ]
“No. You began to wonder somewhere and I couldn’t see anything in that fog so I left it.”
[ Boy ]
“You left my fog?! But it shouldn’t be possible! Should it?”
[ Stella ]
“I just walked toward the tavern…”
[ Boy ]
“But… Eh… It shouldn’t… You just got lucky…” Said the annoyed boy.
While we were just standing there we heard someone blowing the horns. While I was confused the boy was panicking looking for something. He wanted to run one way but he saw more guards coming our way.
[ Boy ]
“Come with me!”
[ Eric ]
“Why would I?”
[ Boy ]
“You’re practically a criminal here! And I want to help you.”
There was no point in arguing. Skyge turned into his big form. I placed Stella on his back so we wouldn’t lose her in all that commotion. When we got a few meters away from the tavern the fog began to vanish. The guards noticed us running away and the captain gave the order to shoot. We got to the gate of the city. The guards that noticed us began to close it.
The boy tore off the bit of grass and blew on it. The grass moved as fast as an arrow and hit the guard’s hand and cut it. Thanks to that the guard stopped closing the gate and we got away. We stopped after running for a while in the forest.
[ Boy ]
“Luckily we got away…” He said as he tried to catch his breath.
[ Eric ]
“Your hand!” I said as I grabbed his left hand.
He had an arrow stuck in it. They somehow hit him on the way here. I thought he would cry about it but his reaction was much different.
[ Boy ]
“Yes! I’ll have a manly scar!”
