《How I Became A Jarl》Wanna Be Hero pt. 1

We arrived at the Noreka’s clan land. It’s placed on a giant island that is so wide that it takes two days to get from one end to another. There are three villages and two bigger towns. We arrived at Selem a trading town of the Noreka Clan. The capital covers land from one to another shore because the island is only wide.
While Sehus looked like a developed city this town was much different. There weren’t any brick paths. There was mud everywhere. In the middle of the town, there were houses with gardens and pigs caged behind fences. At least there wasn’t any special interest in religion because I didn’t see any special symbols or anything like that. There was one small shrine but it was by someone’s house.
Now I had to find a place to sleep and look for that special person. I wanted to ask a few people if they heard anything about that special blessed person with changing tattoos. Unfortunately, something came up and changed my plans for the moment. Stella's stomach rumbled. She tried to hide it from me but kids are not the best actors.
[ Eric ]
“Are you hungry?”
[ Stella ]
“... No. I’m not…”
[ Eric ]
“Liar…” I said as I raised her in front of me and clearly heard her stomach growling.
It was the middle of the day so I didn’t have to worry about any drunks in the taverns. I don’t know why but Vikings really like to fight with each other after drinking a few bears and I don’t want to join them especially when I’m looking after a kid.
We found a small tavern that interested Stella. Mainly because there was a smell of sweet pies. Even Skyge was asking me to buy one for him. The place was almost empty. Besides us, there were only two other clients. Stella begged me for the pie. Skyge joined her and also begged me to buy the pie.

“Fine, but first eat something normal. Like meat with some potatoes or something.”
While Stella was a bit disappointed Skyge was still excited because I said meat. He is a wild animal after all. I was thinking this whole time about what to do with her. There probably aren’t any orphanages in this world because child adoption is unknown to them. I wouldn’t give her to random parents. She and Skyge got very close so probably the best thing to do is to take her with us to Dalir Village and shelter her with other orphans.
[ Stella ]
“Can I get the pie now?” She asked as she showed me her empty plate.
[ Eric ]
“Of course. As I promised. Two apple pies please!”
After eating the meat Skyge took a nap but the smell of the hot pie woke him up. When the waitress gave us the pie Skyge dug into it while Stella was waiting for it to cool down a bit. Skyge was eating it very fast.
[ Skyge ]
“It’s tasty! But hot!”
I think I deserve some time to rest but I can’t do that till I save Tae. I didn’t forget why I’m looking for that special person. But it’s nice to spend my time so calmly with the two of them. I couldn’t stop smiling. I even started laughing a bit when Stella finished her pie she had some scraps on her face and Skyge was licking that off.
[ Stella ]
“Stop Skyge! It’s tickling me. Hahaha.” Said the girl as she giggled.
I would really like for it to be like that for a bit longer but my life isn’t that quiet. Something always must happen like now. Three guys walked into the tavern. It wouldn't be anything bad if they weren't wearing armor and had that strong scent of blood. When they entered two other people that were eating, immediately left. They had to sit at the table right beside us.

[ Stella ]
“What’s that bad smell?”
[ Eric ]
“Shh… We don’t want to annoy them…” I whispered.
[ Man ]
“Got a problem?!” Said the grumpy man.
[ Eric ]
“No. No problems.”
[ Stella ]
“But he does smell…”
[ Eric ]
“Don’t make it worse… haha…”
[ Man ]
“Now she has done it! Teach that stupid brat a lesson, you oaf!”
[ Eric ]
“You heard him. It’s wrong.”
[ Man ]
“Are you stupid too?! Not like that! With your hand! Or do you want me to do it for you?!” Said the man as he stood up and approached Stella.
I saw the glips of fear in her eyes. Before the man could do anything I grabbed his hand and immediately punched him in the face. I pushed Stella away from me and Skyge stood in her defense. The other two that were with him reacted accordingly. By that I mean they stood up took their weapons out and screamed at me “You fucker!”
[ Eric ]
“Sorry. Never tried beating a lesson into someone. Please let me try that on you fuckers!”

Searcher
I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
