《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 790 The Voyage Part 10

It doesn't matter now, nothing from that world means anything anymore. This world is my home now, I wouldn't go back to my old world for any reason. That is one option that the goddesses gave me that I will never even consider.
Although, I can just imagine what would happen if I went back as I am now. I am fairly confident that bullets wouldn't be able to hurt me, but I'm not so sure about missiles. Of course, nukes would straight up obliterate me no matter what I tried to do to defend myself.
While it is fun to imagine, I wouldn't actually play monster, too many innocents would die. On the other hand, if I could somehow take magic to my old world, that might be worth it. Watching the world go insane as mages and monsters suddenly appeared would be hilarious.
However, that isn't really an option so thinking about it is just a waste of time. In fact, any thoughts about my old world or my old life are a waste of time. Instead, I turn and focus my mind on the future and plans that I need to consider.
The next city is the last one before we reach the kingdom that we are already at war with. I plan to skip both port cities of that kingdom, but even going past it will be dangerous. They have a decent navy and by now they have probably replaced the ships I sank.
Once we pass the kingdom's territory there are only two more port cities before we reach the northern coast. Unfortunately, the charts I managed to get end there, the northern coast is blank. So, I either need to find some better charts, or we will have to sail blind.
Sailing blind is definitely the worst option, the ocean is really dangerous. The main point of charts is to be able to avoid the worst of the dangerous areas. Hopefully, the last port city on this side of the continent should have charts showing the northern side.

Or at least part of it, enough to get to a port city on the northern side should be enough. In the end, I may need to collect charts multiple times, but that is better than sailing blind. If the worst comes to the worst I can always fly ahead as a scout, but that would be a lot of work.
If this was earth I wouldn't be as worried, but when you add monsters and magic things change. A normal ocean has enough dangers, but I have no way to know what else might crop up. Monsters I am fairly prepared for, or at least as prepared as I can be right now.
The charts I have show several areas where magical anomalies crop up often. Everything from whirlpools and tornadoes that suddenly appear to reefs that move around. What's worse is that those are what people have survived to report about, there are other areas.
Those areas are just marked as death because no ship has ever returned. Those types of places are why sailing blind is such a bad idea and why I am worried. So, getting more charts has to be the top priority, even if it means attacking other ships.
Although there are always ships in port, we could always rob one of them during a raid. There are probably stores in the port that sell charts, but I have no idea how to find them. My mana scan is pretty good, but not good enough to scan for charts specifically.
Objects are much harder to locate through mana scanning than living beings. I suppose I could try sneaking in as a human and asking around, but that would be dangerous. Mainly because I don't know much about human culture in this area and I would stand out.

Maybe when we reach the northern area I can find a human city to infiltrate. For now, I have plenty of time to think of other options, no need to do anything desperate, yet. However, I can't afford to waste too much time, so I need to get back to the peninsula.
Before I can think any further, the cabin door opens and Nala and Albion come in. They both look exhausted, they probably had a lot of fun and wore themselves out. Since it is already really late I decide to lay down with them and get some sleep.
It is almost noon when we wake up and have some breakfast, but that is fine. Considering the night raid and party, most of the elves are probably still asleep. What does concern me is that I can tell from the feel that the ship isn't moving.
So, after we are done eating, I head up on deck to see what is going on. The shift of sailors is awake, but apparently no one issued any orders to set sail. So, I take charge, start issuing orders, and soon get the ship underway.
Other than the sailors, who look exhausted, the entire ship is completely silent. It looks like the welcome party for the freed elves probably lasted until dawn. However, I can't afford to leave the ship sitting still for a full day while everyone recovers.
Once the ship is moving I let the sailors go wake up the next shift to replace them. It is almost dinnertime when the rest of the elves finally start waking up and moving around. They look tired, but happy for the most part, almost like happy zombies.
It makes me wonder why the reaction to this group was so much stronger than for the last group. Sure, there was a party last time as well, but it wasn't this extensive. Just as I am wondering about the difference, Stillwater comes on deck and heads straight for me.
Stillwater says "Ash! I'm so sorry I missed my shift! Things got a little carried away last night!"
"Yeah, I noticed. I was actually curious about the reason behind it."
Stillwater says "While it is good that we recovered more people, it is mainly due to Silverleaf. Even though you saved Silverstream first, she hasn't been the same since. It was only last night that we finally saw traces of the Silverstream we knew in the past."
"Oh, is it really that big of a deal?"
Stillwater says "Very much so! In the past, Silverstream was the leader of the scouts and Silverleaf was the leader of the warriors. Even though back then they weren't counted as elders, they still had a lot of influence."
"So, that's why everyone went a little crazy?"
Stillwater says "Mostly. As you saw for yourself, Silverleaf has a rather strong personality. Everything always ends up a little crazier when she is involved."
"Speaking of, what's this about you marrying Silverstream?"
Stillwater says "Ahem. Nothing! That is just a crazy idea Silverleaf came up with, there is no truth to it!"
"That's too bad. I think the two of you would make a decent couple."
Stillwater says "Oh, not you too!"
