《World Of Swords》253 : Evil

Under the utterly horrified eyes of the two cultivators, the middle-aged man who they had been fighting began rapidly morphing, as large veins appeared on the hand that he was using to hold the spear.
A moment after realising what was happening, both cultivators suddenly began running away in two different directions.
As both of them had reached the Soul Condensation Realm, they were able to move extremely fast, disappearing from the scene in only a fraction of a moment.
Sadly though, this was not nearly enough for them to manage to escape, as a spear suddenly flew through the stomach of one of them at rapid speed, shattering his body into two.
After that, the now bloody spear returned to the hands of Dai Jie, who was currently chasing after the other cultivator.
With every single step he took, Dai Jie became more and more used to his new body, causing him to become faster and faster.
Although he was a realm higher than Dai Jie, the fleeing cultivator did not dare to stop and try to fight that maniac in the slightest, especially after feeling the latter's fighting intent.
Rather unfortunately, though, this decision was not in the hands of the cultivator, who could currently feel Dai Jie catching up with him.
Every single moment, Dai Jie came closer and closer to the cultivator, who did not seem to have any intent to turn around.
Eventually, the two of them were only a dozen or so meters away from each other, causing Dai Jie to prepare to strike the cultivator.
Suddenly, a sword appeared in front of Dai Jie's face, stabbing towards his head at an extremely fast speed.
Stimulated by a life and death battle, the cultivator took action in the blink of an eye, as he turned around and stabbed his sword at Dai Jie, sending as much power into it as he could muster.

At the same time, the cultivator stretched his other hand into his storage bag, wanting to take something out.
As the cultivator was halfway through taking out a talisman from his storage bag, his sword, alongside the entirety of his right arm, shattered.
In only a fraction of a moment, Dai Jie's spear split the body of the cultivator into many tiny pieces, alongside the surrounding terrain
The defensive treasure, which the cultivator had been using, proved to be of no help, as it instantly shattered upon touching the spear.
A moment later, after grabbing the storage bag of the cultivator, Dai Jie began running away.
'It's best if I don't stay here any longer, otherwise I might encounter someone,' thought Dai Jie as he entered a forest and began flashing from tree to tree, moving at an unbelievable speed.
...
Staring at that scene, Xu Yue couldn't help but touch her chin, feeling quite surprised.
'He managed to surpass his original fate and reach the Soul Control Stage? That's quite unexpected,' thought Xu Yue as she looked at Dai Jie.
Although Xu Yue had given Dai Jie three treasures, in truth, they weren't very expensive or rare, not only that, Dai Jie was just a normal mortal, one with an awful talent for cultivation.
Even though he had reached the Soul Control stage just as his lifespan was running out, the fact that he had managed to do so in the first place was beyond Xu Yue's expectations.
In Dai Jie's original fate, which Xu Yue had seen back then, the latter did not manage to reach the Soul Enlightenment Realm, even with her three treasures.
"As expected, in the countless living being living in the Three Thousand Regions, there's bound to be some that can escape their fate," mumbled Xu Yue, causing Xu Huan to appear somewhat confused.

After saying this, Xu Yue took another look at Dai Jie's fate, causing her to shake her head.
"If you manage to surprise me once again, maybe I will help you," mumbled Xu Yue as she took her attention away from Dai Jie.
At this moment, Dai Jie was looking through the spatial bag of the cultivator he had killed not long ago, and did not know about the being that had just watched him.
...
At the same time, in another location.
Staring at Qin Song, who was standing with his axe next to an enormous tree, Xue Lanying couldn't help but shake her head.
"So old yet still so foolish," mumbled Xue Lanying as she stared at the several Li tall tree in front of her.
Although Qin Song was enormously strong, this tree was not to be reckoned with either, as Xue Lanying herself could barely damage it with her full strength.
Even though Qin Song was much stronger than her, brute strength wise, especially whilst using his axe, Xue Lanying didn't think that he could do much against that tree.
But even so, Xue Lanying still watched Qin Song as he prepared his axe, with a faint smile on her face.
Suddenly, Qin Song slashed his axe at the enormous tree, completely sinking it into the tree, causing a rather shocked look to appear on Xue Lanying's face.
"It looks like he has the brute force required, but the tree is just too big for him," mumbled Xue Lanying, when suddenly, something changed.
"Three strikes should be enough," mumbled Qin Song as he ripped his axe out of the tree, causing a rather confused look to appear on Xue Lanying's face.
A moment later, Qin Song touched the bark of the tree with his hand before nodding.
"It's definitely enough," mumbled Qin Song before slashing his axe against the tree in another location, once again sinking it into the tree.
This time, though, something with the tree seemed different from before.
"He couldn't possibly..." mumbled Xue Lanying as she stared at Qin Song as well as at the tree.
Suddenly, tens of thousands of roots emerged from the ground, trying to attack Qin Song to no avail, as all of them were cut off the moment they approached him.
But even so, the tree did not give up, as it desperately tried to attack Qin Song.
Without any hesitation, Qin Song once again sunk his axe into the tree.
As soon as Qin Song's axe touched the bark of the tree, every single one of the roots stopped, as the enormous Evil Tree that had devoured countless cultivators suddenly began withering.
