Evangeline POV:

“Damn. We need a flippen miracle to survive this one.” Evan said as the kingdom’s east wall was completely surrounded by the goblins, their green grotesque forms looming over the walls like a horde of hungry beasts. It was impossible to imagine a way out of this situation, and the soldiers looked defeated as they huddled together, weapons at the ready. The situation was dire, with no escape and no hope of reinforcements. The kingdom was doomed. Unless…

“...There's a way.” I said as everyone looked at me.

“And that is?” Evan asked me as I steeled my mind and asked him to talk to me in private.

Technically, If I can absorb enough mana then my dragon blood just might wake up and I'll be able to turn into a dragon and wreak havoc. But I need a huge amount of mana for that which isn’t possible… But just maybe, I would be able to do that with how pure mana Evan has… But he might not survive the aftermath.

He agreed for me to suck his Blood for mana even though I warned him that he won't Survive… But there was no room for hesitation. I bit onto his neck and started sucking his blood for Raw Mana Essence.

!!!

What the Hell Is This!! IT'S TOO GOOD!!

I kept sucking his mana until like a thirsty vampire until my head started hurting everything blacked out.

The acrid smell of burned wood filled my nostrils as I regained consciousness. I was lying on the ground in a desolate, charred forest, with Queen Daisy, Queen Elizabeth and a stranger dressed in a white uniform standing over me. The woman's expression remained a stoic blank as she wore a cap with a red plus sign, suggesting that she might be a medical professional.

“Thank Goodness!” Daisy screamed as she hugged me.

“Um, what happened?” I suddenly noticed that it was a bit chilly and looked down to see my bare body in full view. I embarrassingly covered up my private parts with my hands but Daisy quickly took off her cape and gave it to me which I used to cover myself.

She explained a bit about what happened, that I turned into a dragon and killed all the goblins before turning feral and attacking everyone else. It was shocking to hear I did all that but Daisy didn’t give me enough time to think and helped me get up to my feet. After that, I saw the stranger in white uniform talking to Evan.

Then, Daisy went up to talk to him but I kept getting distracted by the damage I did. “D-Did I really do this?” I couldn’t help but ask myself again.

“Yep, you also almost chomped me up too, twice as a matter of fact.”

So I did turn into a Dragon… But… Evan’s not dead.

Which is a good thing, but not even the Elven queen could survive getting so much of her mana taken away at an instant. At the very least she would be in a coma for a couple of days.

My mind was a whirlwind of questions, each demanding an answer. But for now, all I could do was apologize for everything I had done even if I was unconscious through it all.

“I am so, So Sorry about it, I didn’t mean to-” I was going to explain everything that happened and maybe get some answers from Evan, but he cut my explanation short.

“Yea, Yea, I know. I forgive you but let’s talk about this later, Daisy you fill her up on what’s happening and try to extinguish the fire burning everything away before it starts affecting the ecosystem… though I guess it has already affected it greatly…”

They all started talking to each other and what they would do about the mess I created. I could only keep my head down and follow Daisy until I got a new set of clothes.

A whole day went by in a flash. As soon as I wore some clothes, we all had to do damage recovery. I thought that the burnt forest was going to be a huge problem for many years to come because reforestation is not an easy feat even with magic but Evan just nonchalantly lent us the only Dryad in the whole world. Dryads were an extinct mythical race whose powers rival a dragon in the right situation, so knowing that there was one alive and in such close proximity, shocked me to my very core. Even knowing about dryad is a piece of highly classified information, especially in the Human Kingdom. So I didn’t know what I was supposed to do about knowing that Evan is, not only keeping a dryad, but the Dryad also follows his command.

In the end, I decided to turn a blind eye to it to save him, and myself the trouble. Dryad told me that she’ll get the forest back up in the next 24 hours, which I don’t doubt, but I do not know what I should report to our Parent Kingdom about the things that happened along with their solutions. It was a huge headache because a lie would easily be found and cause even more problems that none of us were suited to deal with… Actually, I’m pretty sure Evan can deal with anything thrown at him, but this kingdom will get caught in the crossfire and we’re severely under-prepared.

The next problem I had to deal with was all the paperwork that comes with issuing an evacuation, Every single business in the kingdom needs to be checked, and all contracts, inventory, and even all petty funds needs to be checked again which was a huge pain in the neck, but that pain doesn’t even come close how we were going to get rid of the corpses of 10,000 goblins that were covering up the west gate, Strange enough though, they were all stripped of their gear. Evan did say he would collect some of his spoils, but it’s ridiculous how efficient he is whenever he wants to do something.

All in all, I didn’t sleep at all yesterday and worked until just a few minutes ago. While I would normally be tired by now, but wasn’t and it was thanks to Evan’s doctor for that. Even though I went on a rampage and spent every single ounce of energy from my body, I felt good as new after Evan’s doctor helped me up.

I looked at my new small pocket watch and it was already mid-day. Most of the things that needed my attention were done, I rest would be done by all my assistants, so I had some free time before the next wave of paperwork that I needed to attend to.

In the end, I decided to leave the Kingdom for a while and head towards Evan’s house. I have to apologize and thank him for everything he had done yesterday. Hopefully I will also get some answers to this seemingly endless power that Evan has.

“I’m really sorry about everything I did yesterday!” I basically screamed out as I bowed down to Evan.

The guest room was warm and inviting, with the gentle glow of the fireplace casting flickering shadows on the walls. Evan sat across from me on a plush sofa, his little sister Luna nestled close by, and two adorable fox girls who scampered around him, giggling and playing. Faith, with her sleek black hair, darted around like a playful shadow, while Hope, with her golden locks, bounced and leaped like a ball of sunshine. Despite the gravity of the situation we faced, I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope as I watched the playful scene unfold.

“Okay, you don’t need to bow down,” Evan said as he was distracted by the playing kids. “I already said it’s okay, I forgive you, you didn't have to come all the way here to apologize”

I grimaced, unable to meet Evan's gaze as I spoke. “But Daisy told me about what happened and how I almost ate you up too.”

“Wait.” Evan’s sister Luna interrupted us as she looked a bit upset, “Evan, What does she mean about eating you up huh?”

With a heavy heart, I could feel Luna's anger radiating from her like a searing heat, her eyes burning into me with an intensity that made me want to shrink away.

“Exactly what she means.” The little ones stopped their scampering and listened intently as Evan began recounting what happened. “When she became a dragon, she tried eating me up a couple times, but no worries, I dodged her all the times she tried eating me… not so much that last time though. But instead of swallowing me down to her belly, she threw me up in the sky.”

Evan’s talking about how he might’ve died but it doesn’t even feel like he’s talking about himself. He’s either fearless or too strong to even care.

“Belly?” The little one with golden hair, Hope, asked Evan curiously.

The little one with golden hair, Hope, looked at him in confusion. Her eyes widened with curiosity as she tilted her head and asked Evan, "Belly?" Her golden locks bounced as she spoke, her innocent gaze fixed on him, waiting for an answer.

“Did the papa taste good?” The one with the black hair, Faith, asked me as she put a finger in her mouth, trying to taste herself.

“I, Uh, I don’t know, I wasn’t feeling well that time.” I tried to come up with an answer quickly to the kid’s curiosity but they just turned back to their father.

They both looked up at Evan with shining eyes, their small teeth bared in excitement. “What does Papa taste like?” Faith asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

Evan raised an eyebrow at the question, then grinned. “I don't know, why don't you try eating me to find out?” he teased. The girls squealed and pounced on his hands, nibbling and licking like hungry squirrels.

… That is… Really Cute… but, Papa, huh. I didn't know Evan was Married.

After a few seconds, they pulled back with wrinkled noses. “No, Papa doesn't taste good.” they exclaimed in unison.

“Well, That's expected right?” Evan just shrugged his shoulders but his sister finally showed her hostility and slammed the table which scared the two little girls to hide beside Evan.

“Hold on! I'm not gonna let this slide! Even if Evan forgave you, that doesn't mean I would forgive you!”

That's to be expected. And I came here expecting to get punished in my mind, so it was okay.

“Evan!” Luna turned towards Evan in a state of anger, “You should also not leave this be! You’re only like that because it all went okay, but what if it didn’t huh!? What if you did get eaten up when she was a dragon huh!?”

“I mean, technically, I was also the reason she became a dragon, sooooo…”

“Evan!”

“Fine! Fine! I’ll just give her some punishment, then you’ll be happy right?” I made a resolute face while Evan looked like he didn’t want to deal with any of this. At the very least, I should be able to deal with my guilt this way.

Evan stared at me for a couple of seconds before he snapped his fingers as if he figured out what to do. “How about you visit my room?”

… Pardon?

A mischievous glint sparked in his eyes as he smirked, “At night!”

Before I had the luxury of thought, He immediately got smacked to the back of his head by Luna.

It was only moments later that I realized what he asked of me and my face got red without my intention. My mind started thinking of many wild and naughty thoughts and I couldn’t stop them. In the end I had to hide my face with my hands and hope that he didn’t notice my bashfulness.

So Indecent!

“Ugh, I was just joking obviously. Just help Mia with chores around the house, that’s your punishment.”

Luna's voice cracked as she screamed out, "That's such a small punishment for what she did!" Her fists clenched tightly at her sides, and I could see the rage boiling beneath her surface.

“What? Do you prefer the ‘visit my room’ one?” It’s obvious that Evan was joking this time, but what was more obvious was that he got smacked for it again.

“Jeez! Just do whatever you want I’m leaving!” With a huff and a stomp, Luna spun on her heel and stormed out of the room, As Luna's footsteps receded into the distance, the room fell silent except for the crackling of the fireplace. It was clear that her frustration and anger were still simmering beneath the surface, and it was uncertain when or if she would be able to fully let it go.

Evan massaged the back of his head as the little girls scurried around him full of worry. “I’m fine don’t worry you two.” They stared at him for a second, unconvinced. “Really! I’m fine, you think Aunt Luna can hurt me?” They both looked at each other before looking towards their father and shaking their heads and running around the room to play again.

"Don't worry about her," Evan said dismissively, waving a hand as if shooing away a fly.

“No. She had a good point so I can’t refute her.” Surprisingly, he shook his head at my statement.

“Thing is, she gets terrified when she sees or hears if anyone of us is in any kind of danger.” He had a helpless smile on his face. “Getting crowned a Queen was all she ever dreamed of, the thought of helping her people who had all helped her rise. She wanted to repay them all with her kindness and generosity… but…”

“The Cultists…” I said as I knew that they had wiped out the rest of the Silver daemons.

Evan nodded, “As far as I’m told, it all happened on the day she was going to be crowned a princess and accept the responsibilities of one while train to be a Queen. But she overslept that day and by the time she woke up. Everyone was…” He looked at the playing Hope and Faith and decided not to continue that part. “She blames herself for them because she slept away that day.” He paused for a moment, finding his next words. “I also guess that she’s traumatized by what happened since she’s only like 15, 16 years old right now, and that thing happened a couple of days ago. A week tops.”

I looked down and nodded understandingly. I’m guessing that he’s just asking me to forgive her for her erratic behavior.

While I was thinking this. Luna barged into the guest room again and it scared the fox girls to hide behind Evan again. “You!” She pointed at me. “Evan might’ve forgiven you for whatever you did, but I won’t! And You!” She then pointed at Evan, “How can you be so shameless to i-invite a w-woman to your room in front of your daughters!?”

She has a point.

The terrified little girls took a stand and decided to protect their father's dignity.

“Aunt Luna! Please don't bully Papa!” Said Hope, the one with golden hair.

Luna looks shocked by the girls taking a stance against her. “N-No, I’m not bullying your papa. I’m scolding him because he said a bad thing.” She desperately tried to defend herself.

“Oh, come on. I was only gonna invite her to read bedtime stories for when Hope and Faith go to sleep… What do you think I was going to do?”

It always surprises me how Evan can think of literally anything at any time to save himself.

“W-What, I t-thought-” Luna started blushing. She’d been had, and Evan wasn’t gonna let off this chance.

“Oh, were you thinking of something else?… something very naughty~?” Evan had a Huge Smirk on his mouth and anyone could tell that he was playing around.

Luna finally had it and stomped the ground, “Idiot! Evan!” She yelled before running away.

How cruel…

“Papa.” Faith, the one with the black hair tugged on Evan’s clothes as she called him out, “Why is Aunt Luna always angry?”

“Well…” Evan looked up, thinking about his next words carefully. “It’s because I always bug her that's why. But it’s a form of brotherly love so It's not a bad thing because I love her so much, you two got that?”

“Yep!” They said in unison.

… I hadn’t really thought about it before… But now… I'm actually afraid of what Evan will turn his daughters into.

Oh god, please don’t become mini Evans. Just one is such a big problem to deal with. I can't imagine what the three of them will do.
