《The subtle World of Terraria》4-46. A green situation.

*Evan POV*
After Landing Trish a potential girlfriend, which was all me, I take full credit for that. I had to waste time until the next day so I just started lazing around.
Night had fallen, and a bonfire roared in the center of the castle's courtyard, casting flickering shadows on its tough grey brick walls. The sky was painted in shades of red and gold, with the moon peeking shyly through the clouds like a curious child. It was a common yet beautiful scene.
I started wasting time by talking to Tifa, which was more of a tactical move than I originally thought, because I’m a hero in the Elves eyes, but they don’t like Tifa, so having Tifa with me just makes sure I don’t get overrun with all the Elves who keep peeking towards me, looking for an opportunity to talk. I doubt that their biased hatred over Demi-humans is gonna go away so soon, but at least it’s a step in the right destination.
Sarah, Lucy, Oswald and even the Queens joins us later and we had a fun time just talking about what everyone had been doing until sky grew dark and it was finally time to sleep.
The soldiers were ordered to retire to the barracks, while the Queen's private army and the Queens themselves remained in the safety of the castle. I, on the other hand, wanted to go back home, but Sarah convinced me to stay until the treaty was finalized, just incase we get attacked by the Cultists in the dead of night.
I was pissed but agreed anyway because I did give them my promise.
I think there was a grandfather clock somewhere in the Barracks, because the words ‘8:50 P.M’ popped up below my health bar when I went there. That's like in the game too. If you're near a grandfather clock then it would tell you the time.
I had to sleep in the soldier’s barracks too. It wasn't as cozy as my home but it will do for now. The barracks were a number of large tents spread out separated by gender but not by race so all the humans and elves had to get along here too, the human soldiers made up their beds with discipline but the elves were having trouble so they helped them up whenever needed, but they all started talking to each other as soon as they were done, human to elf, human to human, elf to elf, it was apparent no one was thinking of sleeping, I didn’t knew any way to make a bed like them ,so I was thinking of sneaking into the castle, and finding a room for myself, but I was quickly my plans were foiled by the large number of elves who wanted to talk to me. One of them even gave me their bed so I couldn’t leave either.
I couldn’t help but sigh at the situation.
…
I couldn’t sleep, it was 4’o clock when everyone else slept, nearly half an hour has passed and there was no point in sleeping anymore so I just stood up and started stretching before I went outside the barracks and used the grappling hook to climb my way to the top of the castle. It was just so I could survey the whole field and make sure the Cultists weren’t attacking some random part of this kingdom.
I scanned the horizon, I half-expected to see some signs of the cultists and their shenanigans, but to my surprise, the only thing that caught my eye was the breath-taking sunrise unfolding before me. Golden rays spilled across the forest, rousing the creatures of the wild as they went about their morning routines. Even the breeze that gently ruffled my hair seemed to carry a sense of peace and tranquillity.

I couldn’t help but take in a long deep breath as I closed my eyes to feel the wind brushing past me.
… Mom, Dad, my little brother and sister, I really hope you’re okay… I’ll come to you all soon. Hope dad isn’t giving you all too much trouble, he does get drunk often.
Just as I was reminiscing about my life with my family, I received an Ominous notification.
*A Goblin army is Approaching Balathien from the East!*
…Balathien? That's the name of this kingdom, right? Wait, this means that they won't attack my house right? Where Luna and the others are at? That is nice and I'm not complaining. But, I should've expected the Goblin Army to come by now, I was too busy with the world affairs that I really forgot about them.
The goblin army was one of the common pre-hardmode events even in Terraria, you don’t normally see any goblins, besides Goblin scouts which are an uncommon/rare enemy, but generally A goblin army will spawn after you get around 200 hp and only during the day time.
Also, there’s a variety of goblins you fight during a goblin army, such as the Goblin Sorcerer, Goblin Warrior, Goblin Archer, etc. The total number of goblins you fight will scale off of your health, so, if you have 200 hp, you’ll have to fight around 100-120 total goblins, but if you have 220 hp then you’ll have to fight 140-160 goblins. This health scaling feature also works in multiplayer and scale off of all the present players but since I’m the only player here, I shouldn’t worry about it.
Well, I shouldn’t even worry about the Goblin army since even if this is an Expert world. Not only do I have 2 Army with me but a giant wall surrounding the Kingdom that can easily stop them. And this isn’t like a game where all the enemy will spawn inside your walls.
My max HP is 240 points right now which means that the Goblin army I’ll be fighting would be about 180 to 200 Goblins. The army we have here is about 500+ soldiers and me alone can take care of a hundred of goblins with ease. All in all, we’re going to pave this Peace treaty’s road with the blood of a hundred Goblins.
The Goblin army would come only after I received the message three times, which means that we enough time to prepare. I had to warn the soldiers of the threat. But before I could do that, a loud bell ringing noise interrupted me.
What was that? It sounded near the Army Barracks.
I used my Grappling Hook and quickly Went there. When I did reach there, Both the Armies of Humans and the Elves were standing in order with their respective captains in the forefront...... Except for the Queen's Private Army which I assume is near the Castle.
The captains were giving orders to small units of soldiers, each consisting of twenty soldiers. I needed information so I hurried over to Sarah. She and Cerene's army seemed to be idle, so I approached her for details.
“Hey Sarah. What’s going on?” I asked her but she looked annoyed, probably because of the lack of sleep.
“The bell rang, did it not? An invasion is upon us.” She was sassy for no reason but I was used to it, “The scouts are scouring the terrain for clues, and we shall act accordingly. Though, I must ask you, did you not give your word that you’d do what you promised.”

I shrugged my shoulders, “Yea, yea, no need to be stingy about it, I already know what happening, An army of about 200 goblins are going to attack from the east, I’m guessing we only have about a couple minutes before the goblin sorcerer start teleporting inside the walls and cause chaos.”
Sarah look at me surprised, “So you did keep your promise… But, even a small Goblin army consists of about a thousand goblins, are you sure you only saw about 200 of them?”
“I, uh, I think so?” I only guessed all that with the game knowledge I had, but I have to remember that this world isn’t completely Terraria, only similar to it.
Just then, a few soldiers came running towards each of the Captains and obviously one of the elven soldiers came towards us.
The Soldier was tired and also out of Breath. I guess he ran all the way here.
“Report.” Sarah voice was strong and cold.
“Really bad!” The scout panted for air as he gave his report, “It’s a goblin army! From east! Numbers are around ten thousand!”
Sarah eyes narrowed while I was left speechless.
“There's no flippen way that there's around 10,000 goblins!” I shouted before ignoring the others making a beeline for the east wall with the help of my grappling hook. A couple of jittery soldiers were standing there, clinging to their bows, but I paid them no attention and looked out at the horizon. All I could see were the lush green trees of the forest.
I was convinced that the info we got was wrong but, at the same time I couldn’t ignore it, until I realized that the Goblins were using the lush green trees as camouflage and were charging over to us under its shade.
From this distance, I can see that some are wearing iron armor which glinted under the sunlight and how I found out that the goblins were hiding, some of them were wearing normal clothes and some were wearing purple magicians’ robes.
WHAT THE HELL! DID THE SYSTEM COUNT THE HEALTH POOLS OF THE PEOPLE LIVING HERE TOO!?!
You know What? I have to find out right now! Because if the system is working like this, then half of my theories are wrong and I have no idea what the other bosses or events will be like
Now, how in the hell am I going to see the total Hp of everyone present here? The "Peek" passive does allow me to see the Health bar along with buffs and debuffs of everyone but not the exact health points. Though, I'm betting that it will do that if I can level it up. But how can I do that?
Maybe if I guess the actual number of Hp someone has?
I stared at one of the Goblin Sorcerer and started guessing his Max HP.
Okay… Umm… The goblin mage has …50 Hp? Maybe 60? …70? …80?
*Skill "Peek" has levelled up*
Peek (lvl 3): You can now see the Total number of Hp of a Target.
WOOHOO! First Try!
Alright, now to check the Hp of every Soldier. From the top of the wall, I started checking the Hp of the soldiers near me, annnd…
Life: 270, 220, 150, 270…
…
*Sniff* *Sniff* Oh, what's that smell? *Sniffffffff* It smells like a passive skill that can increase my total Hp!
Okay, jokes aside, It looks like the number of goblins scaled off of the health of people living here as well.
Now, I have to figure out a way on how to kill these nearly ten thousand goblins while keeping the others safe… I can get help from the army and I can use the Kingdom’s wall to my advantage and rain arrows down at the goblins, I could also get them near the wall and use the ‘Spiky balls’ weapons, which the Goblins drop, and use their weapon on top of them, but that will take ages…
Hmm… Wait. I’m not alone this time, I got the Queens and their army with me as well. Might as well listen to their opinions and see what happens.
I looked back from where I came from and the Queens were present there with their armies. I used my grapple a couple of times like Spider-man and landed near them. They were both startled for a moment but calmed down when they realized it was me.
“Evan.” Said Elizabeth as she looked a bit relieved.
“So, What’s the plan?” I asked and both the Queens look at each other.
“50,000 is too much no matter how I think about it.” Said Daisy with worry in her eyes. “We have to evacuate Everyone here, The refugees can all go towards my parent Kingdom but it’s too far and we risk getting them all attacked by half of the Goblin Army.”
Wait, you said something about parent kingdom, what’s that? Your parent’s kingdom or a branch of your kingdom? You know what? Never mind I don’t care right now.
Elizabeth nodded, “My Kingdom is closer but it’s east , exactly where the goblins are attacking from, and it’s also not in tip-top condition so I can’t risk them attacking there either so that place is off limits.”
So, the people can’t evacuate either huh? That’s going to be a huge problem, I can take care of the goblins alone no problem, but now I have to keep my own stamina in mind and no matter how strong I am, 10,000 against 1 is impossible, Even more so if half of them attacked this place, This is where the Peace treaty is happening and the first time the Elves are contacting other races so I can’t let it go up in flames.
…Wait a minute.
“What if we evacuate all citizens near my place? Its towards west of here, opposite of the goblin army and I have a Dryad protecting my place and I heard their pretty strong.
Daisy’s eyes lit up with hope, “Really!? Are you Really Sure!? A dryad alone can absolutely protect them all!”
“Cool and yea, sure, they can all evacuate near my place since my house isn’t big enough to accommodate your whole kingdom.”
“It’s good enough! Now we just need to warn everyone as quickly as possible.” Daisy turned to look towards Trish and he nodded before sprinting off.
“You better be quick cuz I’m guessing the goblin army will attack the wall in about 2 minutes.”
Daisy looked at me horrified “What!? That’s not enough time to warn everyone of the evacuation!”
Hmmm, I wonder if I can use my all new purpose mana ball to help?
“I won't idle around either. Cerene!” Elizabeth said impatiently and Cerene popped out of nowhere like a ninja which was weird because we’re in the open castle’s courtyard with allied soldiers on one side. She kneeled down with a hand pressed to her heart
“Yes, Your Highness” She said as she looked towards the ground.
“Get your fastest soldiers and warn the citizens of the threat, tell them to evacuate towards the west gate.”
“Yes!” Said Cerene as she quickly ran back to her platoon with insane speed
I cracked my knuckles and then my neck to show I meant business, a sinister smile crept up on my face. “Okay then, My turn.”
The Queens turned towards me but I ignored them and decided to climb up the castle with my trusty grappling hook as it was the tallest thing nearby.
Once I was at the top, I conjured up 3 Mana Ball and Shape-shifted two of them into giant speaker, which were much taller than me, and the last Mana Ball into a mike
The Queens turned towards me, their eyes curious, but I paid them no mind, and with the help of my trusty grappling hook, I scaled the towering castle as it was the largest and closest thing. At the summit, I produced three shimmering orbs of mana and manipulated two of them into massive speakers, bigger than myself. I shaped the third mana ball into a microphone, ready to address the masses below.
The shape shift is already my favourite function of the Mana ball but the only downside is that if I use the mike like a weapon and try to hit something with it, then the mike will immediately disintegrate after one hit, but I can still use the mike like a microphone as long as I need to.
I cleared my throat and decided to test if my magical contraption was working, “Testing?” I said quietly into the mike in my hand and the giant speakers repeated my words with a loud boom, I almost went deaf but I don’t feel anything thanks to Pain Immunity. Also, I’m pretty sure the whole Kingdom heard me.
I was thinking how I should be doing the rest but I was pressed for time and in the end I decided to tank the deafening noise coming from the speakers beside me.
“Hello citizens of Balathien! In about one or two minutes, A giant goblin army of ten thousand is going to come here from the east gate to kill everyone. I’m going to advice all of you to stop what you’re doing and evacuate towards the west gate and wait for further instructions! I’ll repeat. DROP YOUR LOAD AND HIT THE ROAD!!! WEST GATE OR YOU'RE DEAD!!!!”
I screamed at the end and the noise from the speakers made me feel dizzy, I removed the speakers and mike before jumping down from the castle’s top.
As I was falling down, I got another notification.
*A Goblin Army is Approaching Balathien from the East*
That's the second notification, which means that the goblin army is close and will attack on the third notification.
I nodded and grappled next to the castle wall to break my fall and land like a superhero.
“Gentleman and gentlewoman”, I said to the Queens who were massaging their ears from the loud announcement I made, once they were okay enough to look at me, I continued. “It’s time to go Goblin slaying.”
