The process of Attunement becomes exponentially more complex for each added Attunement beyond the first, for they must all be balanced. Two arcana becomes three (or four in rare cases in which the magi wants to use both conflict and unification). Three becomes five (or six in the same case). So on and so forth.

Attunement follows mathematical structure, or more simply and succinctly, geometry. The points or vertices are the arcana and the lines are the gestalts created between the interaction of said arcana. Stable structures such as pyramids and cubes are the most commonly used schema for Attunement.

Even Aeder are geometrically or mathematically inclined, their forms like fractals. Ever-repeating shapes that draw upon universal constants and primordial rules.

Arcana is simple when viewed by just the nomen of “arcana,” for it is the seamless whole. Like a fractal, it infinitely spirals into patterns of complex design. As such, arcanists are wont to study arcana in varying degrees of relation and strength with the Arcana of Chaos as the highest form of Power. Creation and Destruction come in second, and others follow them further. The more primal the arcana and the less “pure” it is, the higher it is in the Kabbalah, in the Tree of Existence.
