This tome shall describe all of the gods and devils of Kedwen (Western Europa).

Each has its own reliquary or symbol wrought from metal. Their spheres are their celestial bodies, physical bindings for their Heavenly spirits. From then on, their domains shall be described, that which is their telos upon the earth. Then, a piece of their history shall be recorded.

The Seven, the Gods of King's Kedwen also known as Aardwen.

Oriath (The All-Father) - Iron. His sphere is that of Mars. War. He who taught Man how to wage war. The churning of blood and bone shall strengthen humanity.

Elaria (The Heavenly Bride) - Copper. Her sphere is that of Venus. Lust. She who taught Man how to desire pleasure. The seeking of carnality shall bring humanity to strive for more.

Dyeus (The Sky-Father) - Tin. His sphere is that of Jupiter. Sky. He who taught Man how to swear Oaths. The forbeance to Word and Law shall keep humanity to the narrow.

Lumenari, Alba & Erebus (The Lunar God) - Silver. Their sphere is that of Lunat. Moons. Those who gave Man both light and dark. They who bring to heel and spur on shall be beacons to humanity.

Maia, Gaeya & Mana (The Heavenly Crone) - Quicksilver. Their Sphere is that of Mercury. Nature. Those that gave Man of both knowledge and instinct. They who gift the Fruit of Life and Knowledge shall give rise to humanity.

Solaria (The Heavenly Mother) - Gold. Her sphere is that of Sol. Sun. She who gave Man sight and warmth. The White shall give way to the Black. And from them, humanity shall cultivate of the earth.

Mortus (The Ashen God) - Lead. His sphere is that of Saturn. Harvest. He who gave Man blindness and cold. The Black shall give way to the White. And from them, humanity shall harvest of the earth.

There be the Seven, yet more godlings lurk behind them. These are aspects, fragments of the Great Divine.

Alba - Aspect of Solaria and Lumenari. She is the light that guides amidst the black, and She who breathes waves unto sea so that the sail may have its wind.

Erebus - Aspect of Mortus and Lumenari. He is who brings ash to the flame so that all things may have their rightful end. He who commands the specters of fury to bring the dead back to the Pale.

Azrael - Aspect of Mortus and Lumenari. She who tends to the remains of the flame so that no dying embers may start another fire. A fury that brings revenants back to their rightful end.

Gaeya - Aspect of Maia, corrupted by Terra. She is who from which springs root and stem so that all things may begin.

Mana - Aspect of Maia, corrupted by Ch'thon. She is who from which magic comes so that Man may be arbiter of the world in truth. Yet, in power comes the Taint of He Who Devours. As such, magi of any kind unbound to any deity in particular must be bound to the King. Lest they invoke upon the Void.

These be the Unholy Three.

Terra (The Dragon) - Antimonium. Her sphere is that of Antimony (The Core of the Earth). Unholy. She who tempts Man. The Dragon Below shall be humanity's greatest foe. Upon Her corpse, Man walks as an ant.

Ch'thon (The Void) - Vorus. His sphere is that of Eclipse. He who seeks to devour all. The Void shall never be truly destroyed. One cannot destroy that which does not exist. Upon His firmament of chaos, Terra rests.

Berronath (The Beast) - Arsenic. His sphere is that of Cruel Moon (Monstrum: Cruor = blood). Calamity. He who spreads. From His blood, monsters shall come and spread upon His mother Terra.

Days of a Wheelen Week.

There be seven days in a week, each corresponding to a Majora Deity. A full-blooded manifestation of the Divine Seven.

Dominidas - The Lord's Day. A time of rest from hard labor such as working fields and any sort of smithing and fabrication. Only clerical duties, be they Divine, mundane, or administrative are allowed.

Lumenidas - The Lunat's Day. Marked by Alba as the beggining of the Wheelen Week. Crops are planted on this day to follow a full lunar cycle or

"month."

Solaridas - The Sol-Mother's Day. As the Whitemoon falls into the Black, the Sola crests the horizon, bringing upon Man the White.

Jupidas - The Sky-Father's Day. Also known as the Middle-Week or Middas. Considered the middle of the "work week" as Saturdas and Dominidas are non-working days especially for serfs. Overworked citizens of the Realm do not usher prosperity upon the Holy Kingdom of Aardenwen. Upon the decree issued by Helikar Maligant III, Seventh of his line, issued on Lumendas, Fifth of First Seed and Year 1068 A.E., no serfs shall work the fields on the Lord's Day or the Harvest Day.

Maiaridas - The Crones' Day. As a day patroned by the Heavenly Crones, most academical entree tests are done on Maiaridas. Most seeds are sown in either Lumenidas, Solaridas or Maiaridas as they correspond to the correct lunar cycle. Months follow the Lunat closely and most calendars are charmed with some sort of divination to the Lunar Succesion.

Elaridas - The Bride's Day. Also known as Wineday. Most weddings are done either on Elaridas or Lumenidas. As a day given to the Heavenly Bride, it is the most racuous and festive day. Many inns and taverns and brothels are filled to the brim with serfs tired from a week's work.

Saturdas - The Leaden Day. Also known as the Harvest's Day, Saturdas is a time of rest and recuperation. Only certain jobs and occupations such as cookeries, bakeries, and scriberies are allowed to be open. And only on special occasions do serfs work the fields, such as when there is a chance for crop to wither. Called the Leaden Day for the amount of overdrunk peoples of Kedwen that stumble their way after a night of festivity.

Seasons of the Solarian Cycle.

Spring - The time when Gaeya takes reign upon the Cycle. Her Demense of Natura makes it so that seeds gives way to sprout and sprout to leaf so that all things may have their rightful beggining.

Monsoon - When Dyeus takes upon the Wheel and lets loose the Gates of Heaven. The clouds weep their sacred tears, watering the Earth so that the seed may take root and have its drink.

Summer - When Solaria is at Her zenith in the Heavens, closest to Terra. Her Grace makes it so that the leaf may have its light. Gaeya is said to be happiest and most joyful this time of year, for Her beasts and plants are thriving.

Fall - When the leaf has sprouted upon stalk and branch and drank its fill of Dyeus and Solaria, Mortus approaches on the horizon. Yet this is not His season but instead of the Twins, for when no leaf sways upon the trees can Man gaze upon Them in their entirety. The Watcher becomes the Watched. Lumenari is said to be twice as watchful of Man when the Fall comes, for there is no dense shrubbery to hide prowling beast.

Winter - Mortus has come. He has come so that no creature that draws living breath may stagnate. He is the Ashen God, He Who Brings All Things to Their Rightful End. The Doom God. Winter comes so that no forest is suffocated by weak plant nor weak beast, so that all become stronger under His Cold.

The winter is also shared with Mana for many a scholar studies fervously when the time of the First Frost comes. Though, perhaps it is the lack of physical labor that contributes to this. Schools are opened in the coldest months of winter for all, no matter they be serf or commoner, so that they may learn some higher art or even their letters should they have a scribe with good will.

Months of the Solarian Cycle.

A month is measured by the time it takes the Twins, the physical embodiments of Lumenari, to make a full Turn or lunar cycle. A month is, on average, twenty one and a half days. But it does vary with, for example, Rain’s Hand being anywhere from twenty one days to twenty seven. A month generally follows the Twins, but also does follow the movement of the Celestial Bodies of other Gods.

A full year or Cycle of Solaria is composed of seventeen months.

The year starts when the Light of Oriath the All-Father appears upon the night sky as the Morning Star of Mars. And ends when the Mars appears again in the night as the Evening Star.

Spring:

Morning Star - The month of Morning Star is still quite cold from the leftover passage of Winter. Serfs do not work field or til soil for Morning Star is alike Dominidas and is the Lord’s month. It is a time of rest where the peasantry is expected to scavenge for mushroom and leftover winterberries and roots. Mead and candies are handed out by the churches of the Sevenfold Faith.

Sun’s Rise - The month of Sun’s Rise is when the days start becoming longer, banishing the Black and giving way to the White. This is when serfs start preparing field and when merchant caravans prepare for travel before the Monsoon.

First Seed - Serfs plant the first seed on this month for quickly growing crops. They mustn’t dally for longer than Rain’s Hand last day for Storm’s Breath comes.

Monsoon:

Rain’s Hand - Gentle rain falls from the Heavens, a blessing and warning from Dyeus for the Storm’s fury cometh on the morrow. If a spring crop does not yield by the last day of Rain’s Hand, it is doomed. That is, if it is not in a Gaeyan garden of some sort. Their priestly order is one devoted to growing the verdant of Gaeya regardless of Solarian season.

Storm’s Breath - When the gentle rain turns to furious storm. Lightning may come from Oriath as his Forked Trident and Spear of Tribulation and Punishment, yet the storm cloud is the domain of Dyeus, He Who Guards the Gates of Heaven. Storm’s Breath lasts only two Wheelen weeks plus two or three days, being the shortest month of the year.

Second Seed - When the Priests of Just Dyeus proclaim that the Last Rain hath fallen is the Second Seed planted. Slow growing crops are planted in this time of year and harvest anywhere from Last Seed to the latest of First Frost.

Summer:

Sun’s Height - The hotest month of the Solarian Cycle where the days are also the longest. Serfs toil on the fields hardest this month to make irrigation canals. Rain is rare in this month, and thus it is also called the Drought in more southern provinces. Watering by bucket-fulls is impractical, so instead rivers are partially diverted to Dyeus channels.

Last Seed - The last chance to plant crop to harvest by the latest of First Frost. Rains start picking up again with regularity and mists start to form on the riverbanks of the Northern Highlands.

Midyear - Work comes to a lull at Midyear with most serfs taking up secondary jobs to pay off their lordly debts. The Midyear Festival is a celebration common throughout the Four Corners, be it north, south, west or east.

Fall:

Hearthfire - The cold approaches, the nip in the air draining any and all heat in the black of night. Hearthfires are stocked with wood for the night should the nights turn from cool to cold proper. This habit of prestocking ample amounts of firewood before Moon’s Sight is Northron in nature. Families emigrating from the North-eastern province due to the Blood Plague of 9882 A.St. brought this custom with them as they filled in the newly “vacated” land. The custom has stuck eversince as no one likes sleeping without a warm fire to make hot teh or kahveh.

Leaf’s Fall - By the last day of Leaf’s Fall is when the branches and limbs of trees are left naked. The cold becomes stronger as the seremonths progress. Firewood collecting proper starts around this time with villagers and townsfolk fervously chopping dead dendrite to make their hearths.

Moon’s Sight - The Twins are closest to Terra at this time and are the easiest to spot as no leaf enshrouds the sky. The Lumen Festival is celebrated on this month when Alba is full in Her Grace. Common gifts are usually shiny things of either metal or glasswork. Poorer families gift cups of clay filled with alcohol of some sort, drinking it under the moonlight. Hence the word “moonshine”, for it is a strong spirit distilled by the Grace of Alba. Nobles have taken to this custom in recent times, just exchanging clay cups for silver and golden goblets.

Winter:

First Frost - The First Frost is when water begins to chill over and icicles start to form. The days begin to shorten at a discernable rate and the last crop is harvested before the snow comes. Some more Sothron settlements do not experience heavy snowfall and plant certain “winter” crops. But these are few and far between, mostly being Sunforst and Sodden.

Sun’s Fall - The days are even shorter with serfs taking to skilled work or simply resting as the cold has become too much to work outside without furs and the earth has become too hard and brittle.

Mead’s Tap - The first meads and many wines are tapped on this month. The price of alcohol in general decreases, becoming an easy spending habit for the poorer classes.

Last Frost - The last falling of snow happens on the last day of Last Frost. The Gifting Night is celebrated on Last Frost with gifts being exchanged between all and any. Similar to the Midyear and Lumen Festivals, but without any appropiate or settled upon gift.

Evening Star - The last month when the days are the shortest. The Mars can be seen as either the Morning or Evening Star. It’s passage marks the last day of a Solarian Cycle or year after twenty seven days have passed. The month of Evening Star is always twenty seven days.
