But I am interrupted by Deirdre, who holds my arm and pulls me down, forcing me to sit back up, after which she whispers, "That's the wolf, Charity's husband."

But the explanation is unnecessary, as Charity throws herself into the wolf's arms, who hugs her tightly, and they begin to spin around while embracing.

Surprised, I see how, as they spin, they begin to levitate slightly.

'So the wolf can fly... and he doesn't seem to need wings to do so. It must be magic, but how will that spell work?'

After a few seconds, the two stop levitating, and Charity pulls a little away from her husband's arms to introduce him.

"This is Gell, my husband. He is an Archmage and is level 67, but in the resistance we know him by the title 'The Wolf'" she says, looking at Lilian and me.

'It seems that they also know the concept of levels... today is a day of surprises…'

Lilian makes no comment at the mention of Gell being a level 67 Archmage, though I suppose that's because she thought it was a different title, like the 'the wolf' nonsense.

But just as Charity said, his class is 'Archmage', so I am probably looking at another carrier of a singularity. And although I can't see his level with my skill, he's most likely level 67. This confirms that, certainly, they know about the existence of classes and levels on this continent.

"Hello, nice to meet you. According to what Angnir told me through the communication artifact, you guys came with Charity from the land beyond the sea, and you are going to help us free the slaves in Krag-an, right? Thank you very much," says Gell in a calm, slow voice that inspires confidence, and he bows to us. As he bows, I see that he carries a magic wand, which by color looks like steel, at his side on his belt. While still bowing, he looks at Deirdre with a smile and says, "It's good to see you again, Miss Snoopy."

"Y-yes, mister wolf. Same here," stammers Deirdre, blushing slightly.

Lilian gets up from the ground to happily say hello back to him, and Sebastian and the three soldiers do the same. But I still feel uncomfortable discovering in this way all the things Deirdre has been keeping from me, so when Gell looks at me, I only bow my head slightly in acknowledgment.

Annoyed with my gloomy thoughts about Deirdre, Azur flies off my shoulders and onto the therian's lap.

After a few minutes of conversation, Charity, Gell, Lilian, and Sebastian leave the tent.

I didn't pay much attention to Lilian's conversation with the two orcs, but I assume they are going somewhere to plan the attack on the city.

And seeing that Deirdre and the three soldiers begin to make preparations to sleep in the tent, pulling sleeping bags out of their enchanted bags and arranging them on the tent floor, I proceeded to do the same.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier that you knew about the classes? You could have mentioned it when I told you about my abilities..." I mutter to Deirdre in a reproachful tone as I arrange my sleeping bag on the floor, feeling a bit betrayed. Since, while I revealed my secret to her, she didn't tell me something as important as the fact that she knew she had a special class, and that levels existed as an indicator of people's power.

"Huh? Ahh. I thought you knew that, master. It's common knowledge. Only the government can measure people's class and levels. But, once it's done, they grant you a token similar to that of the Liones's adventurer's guild. The token specifies the data of that person. You know, classes, levels, stats, a..." Deirdre says absentmindedly as she looks towards the entrance of the store, where Charity and Gell have just left, apparently not understanding my feelings.

"Aha. And do you know what class you have?" I ask abruptly, interrupting her mid-sentence, seeing that she is partially ignoring me.

"Ehm, no. I was a slave, master," she says, as if explaining something obvious, but still not looking at me.

"And wasn't Angnir a slave too?" I ask, a little irritated at how little attention she seems to be paying me.

"Yes," she says, turning around to face me with a slight frown, "and that's why he doesn't know his class either. But surely he has a unique class. It's the only thing that could explain his appearance and... Is there something bothering you, master?"

"No, it's just that the trip through the jungle and this humidity are getting to me a bit.... I'm going to sleep," I say, and settle down inside the sleeping bag while trying to organize my thoughts.

"Yeah... I guess this climate is quite different from the human kingdom," Deirdre says, yawning, as she looks me straight in the face, "good night, master. Have a good rest."

"Likewise," I say, turning away to avoid her gaze as I start to feel a little bad for doubting her.

'All in all, looking at it from her perspective, it makes sense that she didn't mention anything about the classes....'

It seems that the new continent is plagued by monsters in the uninhabited areas. Since, unlike our continent, monsters reproduce much faster here. Lilian told me this while, the next morning after we arrived at Agnir's people place, we were walking back through the jungle to where our army is, guided by Charity.

I thought we would stay a little longer at the resistance camp, but as time is short because we don't know when the orcs will discover our ships anchored offshore, we set off back to camp first thing in the morning, urged on by an anxious Lilian.

I don't need her guidance, as I have the map from my interface showing me the path we took to get to the resistance base. But I don't think Lilian would agree to me guiding them without me giving her an explanation as to why I am confident that I know my way through a jungle that we only went through once, and during the night. So I better not say anything.

Azur is still mad at me for thinking badly of Deirdre, so instead of being perched on my shoulders, he's perched on hers.

Apparently, the resistance is going to need only one day to make preparations to siege the city. When I heard this, at first it seemed strange to me that they would organize the attack on something as big as a city in such a short time, but Lilian told me that the resistance has been planning the matter for years and is ready to attack as soon as the situation would be advantageous for them.

Since, even though they couldn't take the city without help from outside, they could try to free groups of slaves from the orc empire's control by rescuing them from the suburbs. And that is why they have carefully studied the routes to reach the city, its most vulnerable access points, and the safe places within it.

It seems that, although the orc empire enslaves Therians and Reptilians, there are many orc families who do not agree with the treatment of the slaves. Charity's family is one of them, and it is the one that has helped the resistance the most over the years. Providing Angnir and his companions with food, equipment, and useful information.

When we arrive at the improvised camp that our army has set up while we were away, Lilian and Sebastian leave the group to organize everything necessary for when the resistance group comes looking for us. At that time we will start the march to the city of Krag-an.

While I follow the group towards the tents that were prepared for us, I see Joaquin outside a tent arguing with a group of three young soldiers who seem very upset with the sermon that is falling on them.

So, taking advantage of the fact that now we have nothing else to do apart from wait for the resistance to come looking for us, I explain to Deirdre my intentions, and I move away from the group to talk to the old soldier and tell him what happened in the resistance camp.
