Chapter 7. Gyre

1889 Kalgoorlie Goldfields, Australia

Before he closed the front doors, Pastor Fields made sure all

the windows of the Chapel were firmly shut. He stood outside

on the alcove stairs and watched the towering wall of the

oncoming dust storm as it moved towards the town.

He sighed in admiration - there was no denying how menacing

it looked, but there was an elegant primal inevitability to its

seemingly slow approach.

The dust storms of last year had blanketed the town and

surrounding goldfields for days, nearly blinding or choking anyone

who was unfortunate enough to have to be out in it. As he walked

along the nearly deserted streets the sky overhead began to

darken and there was an almost constant rumble of thunder.

Authors' Note.

After a year or so of thinking about it, the end of Covids reign of

terror, and a new job after more than twenty years in the same one,

It became apparent to me that I had to insert another chapter into this

books story line to make it flow better. This, is the chapter, and obviously

it isn't complete. I will finish it and upload the rest of the re-edited chapters

of the completed book in the next few weeks

Thank you for reading what I have written so far.
