The face of the leader turned. Blood drained from his face. He knew he was going to die. He wanted to say something, but all that came out of his lips was an inexplicable sound. He fell to the ground and died.
There was a stunned silence.
Victor had punched through the chest of the young villain, and that horrified everyone. No one could believe Victor had just kill someone, one of their own, just like that. Victor looked away from the body and stared at the remaining two young villain. The remaining two villains were terrified. They just seen their friend killed, but they were young. They were villains. And they had volunteered to fight in an Emergency.
Victor hoped they were not cowards.
Victor waited and his patience was soon rewarded when the two villains’ faces turned from fear to anger.
“D…Die!”
One of the young villains shouted as he raised his arm towards Victor. A stream of fire shot towards Victor, who immediately called upon his Bark Armour. The fire washed over him, but Victor was unharmed. In fact, the fire made things easier for him. Victor pointed two fingers at the young villain who fired at him and called on his core to gather the Fire Qi around him. Victor’s laser hit the young villain with such force that his body flew back five metres before landing on the ground.
He was dead.
That was too much for the last young villain. He turned and ran. The crowd did not try to stop him. They open to let him through, but they didn’t close behind him either. It was clear they wanted nothing to do with this incident. Victor frowned. He was a little disappointed. He had given the youngster a chance to die fighting, and he did not take it.

Victor called on his core again and Bear Charge after the escaping villain. The young villain heard movement behind him and turned his head. It was a mistake. It slowed him, and allow Victor to hit him with a shoulder charge. To his credit, the young villain tried to roll with the fall, but it was too late. Victor was there, with his fist high above him.
“Sweet dreams.”
His fist came down and smashed onto the young villain’s head. It exploded. Blood and brain matter splashed on the ground. Like a movie, the promised downpour in the sky chose this moment to fall.
Rain fell, beginning the slow process of washing away the blood. Victor looked up, letting the rain fall on his face. Victor sighed, but his heart was calm. He had no regrets. It was unfortunate, but it had to be done. Victor turned to look at the crowd who saw his execution of the three villains. Everyone was silent, and only the sound of the falling rain could be heard. Several faces were as pale as white snow. Victor knew they were hanging on his every word, but he still shouted.
“This is what happen when you break the truce! It doesn’t matter if it was an accident! It doesn’t matter if it was a misunderstanding! It doesn’t matter if the other guy killed your whole family! If you break the truce, you die. It is that simple. If there is anyone here who objects to the way I handed things, please step forward and we can settle things now.”
No one did. Victor was secretly glad. It was always a little risky to issue an open challenge like that, but he needed to establish his authority. After a few seconds, Victor continued.
“I am the Sweet Fist. Most of you would have heard of me. For those who do not, know that I am a mystic martial artist, and I have been appointed as one of the captains in this Emergency. All villains from the Alliance of Champions below Tier B are under my command. My first few commands are simple. Do not kill anyone! Do not break the truce. And most importantly, do not make me kill you!” Victor nodded at Mister Black. “Establish contact with the authorities here. Tell them there are five bodies for pick-up.”

“Uh…they will want to know what happened? What do I tell them if they ask me how they died?” Even the robotic voice module could not disguise Mister Black’s worry.
Victor shrugged. “The five answered the call to a Nexus Emergency and were killed during the emergency. They died fighting. They died defending our planet from an Invasion Gap.”
Stunned silence greeted Victor’s announcement. Everyone realized what Victor was implying. This was an Emergency. If they broke the rules, they would have to answer to Victor, and few would care. Heroes and villains die in an Emergency all the time. No one will ask too many questions on how it happened.
The rain continued and the crowd slowly dispersed after that. Victor stayed, along with Bradley, Mister Black, and the Savage Six. A truck came for the bodies. The rain continued to fall. As they watched the bodies being loaded up, Victor spoke to Ghost Robber who seems to be the leader of the Savage Six.
“That’s what it means to be captain during an Emergency. Sure you guys don’t want the job?”
“No, man.” Ghost Robber immediately said, putting his hands up in mock surrender. “The job is all yours, Master Fist. We will follow your lead.”
Victor gave the biker a small nod. He sounded sincere, and Victor believed he would have no worries on that front anymore. Bradley came up to Victor.
“Master Fist. Central Command called. You are required to attend a briefing on the Gap. They are discussing the plan of attack.”

Bright Feather
I'd like to say something like this is a unique story, blah-blah, but it's not. The story itself is your typical fantasy story with magic, fightings, plot armors, good friends, beautiful ladies and whatever there always is in such stories. I pretty much enjoy typical stories. So I've decided to write one myself. The only thing is the story isn't going to be centered about the Main Character. So let's leave all of the above to him, we'll meet him eventually anyway. This is the story of MC's counterpart. While our greatest Main Character conquers the world, cultivates, and whatever else, what does his destined other half do? Sit and stoically wait for him to come out of the closed door cultivation? Really now... Just thought it might be interesting to write such a story. Let's see if I manage. I'm new to this so, dear readers, please, don't be harsh on me. But if you have some words for me, so I can improve, don't keep them to yourselves, all help is deeply appreciated. And I officially promise to be very slow and inconsistent with releases (myriads reasons for this.) But I'll still do my best to finish the story someday. WARNINGS! (I thought a lot, and in the end, I'm putting it here. Better safe than sorry.) First of all, you can probably easily guess, but English is not my native language. And everything that comes with it. I don't think that it excuses me though, so I will improve with time, but warning you nevertheless. Second: No harem, no BL, no Romance And the last but not least: Beware of psychological pressure on characters and characters' deaths. Not much, in my opinion, but still, if you're overly sensitive to violence or mind games, better drop before starting. In any case, you've been warned. With all the above said, welcome, and enjoy.
