《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 777 The Undead War Part 7

At first it is a good thing as the sharks start eating the undead, but that doesn't last. Soon the sharks start dying, but they don't stay dead and zombie sharks are not fun. Sure, they might be a bit slower than normal sharks, but that isn't slow enough.
The sharks quickly tip the scale back towards the undead and their numbers keep increasing. They move faster than the murlocs, so they are able to kill them much faster. The only real benefit is that if they enter the bubble they are completely helpless.
Outside of the bubble they are too fast for us to catch up to them with the bubble. If we ignore them then all the murlocs will die and become undead. If we chase after them then the undead kill the murlocs instead and the murlocs become undead.
Since neither option will be in our favor I leave Bones killing undead and attach the bubble to him. Then I drop my shapeshift, leave the bubble, and swim out to where the sharks are. Once I am out of the bubble the undead sharks flock to me, probably because of my lifeforce.
Thanks to using some Origin Energy on myself, my lifeforce is much stronger than a normal individual. The normal undead don't pay much attention to me, but the sharks do. It is probably because sharks have much stronger senses and retain some of them in undeath.
This makes my job easier, so I swim upwards and lure the undead sharks after me. This way I can wipe them out and not interfere with the rest of the undead. So, once the undead sharks are far enough away from the rest of the undead I cast Holy Light.
56 Zombie Sharks defeated! 5,600 Exp gained!
After all the zombie sharks have turned to dust I swim down and chase away the living sharks. One pulse of sound waves made with mana is enough to send them fleeing. This way they won't keep turning into undead and upsetting the balance.

Now Bones can continue stealing energy and all I have to do is provide mana to maintain the bubble. Unfortunately, that means that I cannot move too far away from Bones. Which leaves me sitting around bored until he kills all of the undead.
Even though Bones doesn't get tired, it will still take him a long time to kill all of the undead. I will run out of mana to maintain the bubble long before he can kill them all. He should be able to kill them without the bubble, it will just be a lot slower.
So, I return to the bubble and sit down on the ocean floor and think through my options. After thinking for a minute, I grab a seashell off the ocean floor and see if I can enchant it. Luckily, it can hold just enough mana for a single enchantment, the bubble.
Unfortunately, it will only hold enough mana for the enchantment to last a few hours. I go ahead and do it anyway, then stick the seashell onto Bones' armor. Leaving the seashell to maintain the bubble I head back to the beach.
After eating and recovering my mana, I swim back down to the bubble to check on Bones. However, when I swim down I don't immediately see Bones or the bubble. So, I follow the trail of bodies to the north and after a bit I spot Bones who is following the undead.
From the looks of it, the undead are chasing after the remaining murlocs. It looks like they finally realized they had no chance of winning and decided to flee. Normally it would be easy to outrun the undead, but the murlocs waited too long.
Since they are already exhausted they are just barely staying ahead of the undead. Bones on the other hand is easily keeping up with the undead and continuing to kill them. When I give him a quick scan I can see that the energy level of his bones has already doubled.

Since the shell I enchanted still has some time left before it fails I start looking around. After taking a breath from the bubble I swim around looking for something that could hold more mana. I want to make something that will keep the bubble up longer so I don't have to sit around bored.
Besides, it has been long enough that I feel the need to check on the ship and Brightfire. Not to mention if I go too long without playing with the kids in a soulscape they will start worrying. I have already put them through enough without causing them to worry more than I have to.
However, if he loses the bubble Bones would have trouble catching the undead. At least the undead murlocs, the humanoid zombies and skeletons are even slower than them. As I am swimming a glint in the corner of my eye catches my attention.
Since it is shiny I of course immediately turn to swim closer and see what it is. The problem is, even when I get closer and can see it better, I have no idea what it is. What is sticking out of the sand is small, about the size of a pen, but it is giving off multicolored light.
When I grab it and try to pick it up I find out that there is more of it under the sand. Once it is clear of the sand I can see that it is some kind of shell, luckily it is empty. The shell is about three feet long and about a foot wide at its widest point.
The entire shell gives off light, but not constantly, the colors are moving around. It is fairly hypnotic, it was probably used by the creature to lure in prey. However, what I care about is the fact that it can hold a massive amount of mana.
Surprisingly, its mana capacity is the highest I have ever seen, even higher than Armatite. A small piece, about the size of a thumbnail, should be enough to maintain the bubble for days. So I break off a small piece to use and put the rest into my pouch for later use.
It would come in handy if I need to add more enchantments to the ship later on. So, I swim back over to Bones and sit down in the bubble to enchant the piece of shell. However, the bubble collapses while I am still busy trying to make the new one.
So, I stop what I am doing and use my mana to recreate the bubble and hold it. Then I go back to enchanting the piece of shell and once it is done I let it take over. Again, I attach it to Bones so that he doesn't have to worry about the bubble.
"Bones, keep going, I will be on the beach for a while. I need to go into the soulscape."
Bones says "Alright. Can you tell if this is working?"
"Yes. You now have your own energy source. You didn't have any before, only the connection to me. You need to strengthen your energy source until it can support you. Only then will it be safe to sever our connection."

Void Breaker
Note: Sadly, this story is currently on hiatus :( Elizabeth Sayler had lost everything in the bombing of Reaver Stadium. Her career, her fame, her power — all of it vanished the moment she lost use of her legs. Now, she's beginning to lose hope of ever healing herself… until her world integrates into the Void. When the apocalypse comes in a flurry of System messages, everyone on earth is given a choice: give up what they value most in themselves, and acquire a path to their heart’s greatest desire. Most would hesitate, but for Liz? She has nothing to lose, and absolutely everything to gain. Armed with newfound powers in a world teeming with monsters, she’s determined to not only survive, but to somehow break the Void’s endless assault. * * * This is a small note about the portrayal of disability in this story. As much research as I do and as many people as I ask, I will in the end only be able to understand a small portion of paraplegia and similar disabilities. Therefore, if there is anything particularly disrespectful, please do not hesitate to contact me. I always intended to portray disability in a respectful way in this story, but please know that Liz as a character does not start out with a healthy view of disability. This is intentional, and a large part of her character development comes from this view changing as she learns. Disability is not something she simply "discards" at the beginning of the story, but an ongoing theme and a part of her journey.
