《Pokémon : An Unexpected Journey》Project Dreamland

Austin stood in the room, staring down at the unconscious form of Erika, who lay on the ground.
The room was silent except for the sound of Austin's shallow breathing. Suddenly, Erika's face melted away revealing Duplica's unconscious form as Ditto lunged at Austin, its face exploding out into a snarling visage as it closed in on him.
"Not so fast!" Austin yelled, as his face melted away.
In an instant, Austin's Ditto had intercepted Duplica's Ditto in mid-air, and the two creatures grappled with each other.
"Transform!" Austin commanded, and his Ditto obliged, changing into a Xenomorph mid-air.
As the Xenomorph and Ditto clashed in mid-air, the room trembled with their fierce struggle.
Duplica's Ditto, realizing the danger it was in, quickly transformed into a Xenomorph as well. The two Xenomorphs faced off in the small bedroom, their hissing and clicking filling the room.
Duplica's Xenomorph was slightly smaller but faster, and it lunged toward Austin's Xenomorph, slashing at it with its razor-sharp claws. Austin's Xenomorph countered with its elongated tail, striking Duplica's Xenomorph in the chest and sending it flying backward.
Duplica's Xenomorph scrambled to its feet and charged forward again, this time going for a bite at the neck. Austin's Xenomorph dodged to the side and slammed its fist into Duplica's Xenomorph's back, causing it to stumble yet it chose to chargeback.
Austin's Ditto transformed into a steel wall, blocking the Xenomorph's charge. The Xenomorph growled and bashed its head against the wall, but it was no match for the sturdy steel.
The Ditto then turned into a sludge, oozing under the Xenomorph's legs and making it slip and slide on the floor. The Xenomorph roared and lunged at Ditto, but it was too slippery to catch.
In a moment of disorientation, Duplica's Xenomorph looked around to see where Ditto was hiding and pounced at what it thought was Ditto's form, but it turned out to be a trick. Ditto had transformed into a pillow, and the Xenomorph crashed into it with a thud.
Ditto then turned into a bed, trapping the Xenomorph under its soft mattress. The Xenomorph struggled and thrashed, but it couldn't escape the Ditto's grasp.
"Finish it, Ditto!" Austin commanded with urgency.
Without hesitation, Ditto transformed into a giant hammer, hovering above the trapped Xenomorph.
With one final command, Austin ordered his Ditto to finish the battle. Ditto transformed into a giant hammer, smashing down on the trapped Xenomorph with all its might. The Xenomorph let out a final screech and went still as it transformed back into a ditto, knocked out.

Austin clapped for his Ditto, who transformed back into its original form, looking away shyly as Haunter laughed at the whole spectacle.
"Good job, Ditto!" Austin said as he patted his gelatinous friend.
With a deep breath, Austin closed his eyes and focused on his aura, allowing it to expand and sense his surroundings. He felt the pulse of energy that flowed through the building, and the heartbeat of each living creature within it.
He then asked Ditto to transform him into Erika, and the creature obliged, turning Austin into a female duplicate of his opponent. Haunter laughed even harder, rolling on the ground in glee as Austin stood there in his disguise.
The transformation was perfect, down to the last detail. Austin looked just like Erika, from the flowing hair to the delicate features of her face. It was a little disconcerting, to say the least.
As they made their way through the mansion, Austin kept his senses alert, his aura acting like a sixth sense. He could feel the energy of the people around him, the passion and desire that pulsed through their bodies.
The sound of moans and whispers filled the air, as couples indulged in their most intimate fantasies. Austin coughed into his hand to snap himself out of his embarrassment as they walked out of the room and into the giant hallway.
The hallway was a sprawling expanse, with vaulted ceilings and ornate chandeliers that cast a warm golden glow over everything.
Austin was careful in his movements, his senses heightened as he tried to remain undetected.
Finally, they came to a strange door, which asked for a facial, fingerprint, and code scan. Austin could feel the energy of the door, a complex web of circuits and mechanisms that pulsed with a faint electric hum.
With a deep breath, Austin's face twisted into a scowl as his hand hit the metal door with a thunderous crash, sending shockwaves throughout the hallway as the alarms began to blare. The sound was deafening, echoing through the empty halls as people poured out of the bathrooms across the way. They were frightened, many of them screaming as they tried to find cover. Austin, meanwhile, stood motionless, his hand still on the door as he looked around at the chaos he had caused.
He stepped through the hole he had made and into the room beyond. It was a strange sight that greeted him as he walked in. The room was filled with mushrooms, of all shapes and sizes, growing from the floor and up the walls. The air was thick with visible fragments, a mist that hung in the air and swirled around him. Austin's eyes widened as he took in the scene before him.

The mushrooms were unlike anything he had ever seen before. Some were tiny, barely the size of a button, while others were as big as his head. They were of every color imaginable, from bright reds and blues to deep greens and purples. They seemed to glow in the dim light, casting an otherworldly aura over the entire room.
In the center of the room, was a shiny parasect, its body pulsing with otherworldly energy. It was a sight to behold, a creature that Austin recognized as Project Dreamland, a mutated parasect that was designed to latch onto an individual's psyche and force them into a perpetual dream-like state. The Parasect's long legs were extended, its body rising as if it were trying to reach the ceiling. Its eyes were closed as if it were in a deep meditative state.
[ Can you feel your heart burning? Can you feel the struggle within? The fear within? The struggle and fear within me are beyond anything your soul could imagine.]
The Parasect exclaimed in a guttural voice that scared Ditto into hiding behind Austin's neck.
Haunter and Austin looked at each other then looked at parasect who raised its claws; menacingly.
(~Squich~)
And Haunter swatted Parasect like a bug.
[ You cannot kill me in a way that truly matters.]
The crushed parasect exclaimed as Haunter chuckled and threw a Will-o'-wisp at the bug.
Austin ignored everything as it was what he saw behind the parasect that shocked Austin.
There, in a corner of the room, was Erika. She was on an LSD trip, her body contorted in strange, unnatural positions as she mumbled and twitched. Her eyes were wide and unseeing, her pupils dilated to the point where they seemed to take up her entire iris. She was sweating profusely, her hair matted to her face as she muttered strange, gibberish phrases.
Austin approached her slowly, his heart racing as he tried to make sense of what he was seeing. He was worried for her as he reached out and touched her arm, trying to get her to snap out of it, but she didn't respond. She was lost in her world, completely unaware of his presence.

[ Celadon City Center ]
Celadon City was bustling with activity, cars, and trucks clogging the busy streets as horns blared and drivers cursed. In the traffic, there was a particular police van that was surrounded by the chaos of the city. Inside, Domino sat contentedly, taking a big bite out of a cheeseburger as she enjoyed the relative peace of her vehicle.
Just as she was about to take another bite, the screen on her dash lit up, displaying the face of Giovanni, the head of Team Rocket. Domino's eyes went wide as she quickly set down her burger and answered the call.
" Sir, I have bad news; Project X got away before I could make any contact."
Giovanni quickly noted Domino's words.
"Domino," Giovanni said, his voice stern and commanding. "I have an important job for you."
Domino sat up straight, her attention completely focused on the man on the screen. "Yes, sir," she replied.
"I need you to go to the Celadon Gym," Giovanni continued. "There has been a disturbance there, and I need you to capture the person responsible."
Domino raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical. "Who is it?" she asked.
"The perpetrator is currently unknown but they have taken on the face of Erika, the police have also been called by them," Giovanni replied, his tone brooking no argument. "Just go to the gym and take care of it and make sure Erika is safe, team rocket is in the last stages of our plan, we don't need any more attention than we already have"
Domino sighed, but she knew better than to question Giovanni's orders. "Understood," she said. "I'll take care of it."
" This time don't fail it."
And with that, the call ended and Domino was left alone with her thoughts as she tried to think of Project X before her eyes glowed with psychic energy as a particular set of memories played out.
"Do you want pizza, Abra ?" Domino asked as she turned towards the psychic type in the back.
Abra raised both of his hands in the air as he exclaimed, "Oh boy, pizza! Just what I needed to complete my journey toward morbid obesity. But sure, I'll take a slice. I'm not too proud to accept free food."
" I'll take that as a yes."

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.
