《Wolf Bloodline》Powers Of The Cranus Lineage

The wolf lineage was much more dangerous than I had initially thought. Ryuu's lack of self-control during the battle served as proof of that. The leader of my lineage had not provided me with any additional information about the wolf lineage. It seemed that he didn't know much about them either.
I knew that I wouldn't get any answers to my questions about the wolf clan. That wasn't why I had come here anyway. My goal was to learn more about my own clan and to become stronger. I had always considered myself a member of the Cronus lineage since birth, but despite this, I still didn't know everything about our history and powers.
My master's training had focused on strengthening my physical abilities and melee attacks. But now, I was ready to surpass that and learn more about my lineage. I didn't want to delay my training any longer by asking the last question that lingered in my mind.
"I know that our bloodline has a total of three powers," I said. "But I don't know what they are."
The leader shook his head and opened his mouth to give a final explanation.
"The basic powers of all lineages are three," he said. "However, only the mage lineage has four powers, and the destruction lineage has one. I won't go into detail about them, but I can tell you about the powers of our lineage. The first power you will learn is the basic ki energy. You can give and receive ki. The second power has a similar nature but a different characteristic. This power is called ki blast."
"Ki explosion?" I asked.
"When the ki in a person reaches a certain level, they can turn it into power," he explained. "They can use their energy in stronger or faster ways. We call this a ki explosion. It is much more powerful than it sounds. Especially when wielded by someone powerful, it can become invincible over time."

The power he described sounded familiar to me. It was as if I had seen a similar power somewhere before. I couldn't help but ask him to confirm my suspicions.
"Can we donate this power to someone if we want?" I asked.
The leader of our lineage looked at me in surprise, as if I knew something that I shouldn't. He continued to speak without hesitation.
"Yes," he said. "The reason why this power is different from the first power is not just because it can be controlled and earned, but also because it can be bestowed upon others. The important thing with this power is that your body gets used to it. Once you get used to it, you should have no trouble controlling it. But as I said, very few people know about the power of bestowal because it is very dangerous. As far as I know, only two lineages can use the power of bestowal: the Sovalye and Cronus."
"In the past," he added. "But now we don't know who or which lineages have this ability."
"And what is the third power of our lineage?" I asked.
"Absolute ki," he replied. "A user of ki that is one with their body. It is said that whoever activates this power can not only sense the creatures around them but can also direct the winds with their ki energy. However, this is very difficult and no one has been able to do it since our founder and Dollares."
"Who is Dollares…?" I began to ask.
But the leader of our lineage interrupted me, raising his hand slightly to stop me.
"Okay, enough questions," he said. "You're here to train, right?"
"Yes, sir," I replied.
"Then follow me," he said.

After walking to the edge of the garden, the Leader and I came to a large oak tree. He stood under the tree and continued speaking.
"Here we are," he said. "Your first test."
At first, I didn't understand what he meant. But then he pointed to a wilted flower on the ground.
"This flower has been withered for a long time," he said. "But it's still alive. Your task is to give it ki and make it bloom again."
"But I don't know anything," I protested.
"That's not how it works," he replied. "You have to focus."
"But I thought…"
"I'll guide you and teach you," he said.
"Yeah, it's a little bit like that," he agreed. "There's a time for everything. Just make sure you use it properly. If you learn that, you can control ki."
After a short silence, the leader looked at me and said, "Maybe I should show you first."
I watched in amazement as the leader placed his hand on the tree. The branches began to grow and the trunk hardened as if the tree was getting bigger and stronger.
"Okay, now it's your turn," he said. "Put your hand on the flower and focus on it. Listen to it as if it has a heart."
I did as he instructed but nothing happened. The flower remained wilted and I grew frustrated. But the leader spoke calmly to me.
"Don't worry," he said. "This is our most basic power. If you are a descendant of Cronus, it won't be difficult for you to learn this power. Just feel it and let it flow through you."
My Cronus lineage was all I knew about myself. A Cronus master had found me when I was just a pup and had taken care of me ever since. Other than that, I didn't know where I came from or who my family was. All I knew was the kindness that the Cronus lineage had shown me.
When I thought about what had happened, I knew I had to focus on my inner strength, but what could I do if my powers did not awaken? I felt a sense of uncertainty and doubt fill me. But I was going to keep trying. Because even though I am not related to the Cranus clan by blood, I have learned a lot from them.

The UnSlut Project
I was the 6th-grade "slut." And I kept a diary. So I decided to create The UnSlut Project in the hopes that my own diary entries could provide some perspective to girls who currently feel trapped and ashamed. I am publishing these entries one at a time, without changing a single word except for the names of the people involved. My limited commentary, which is confined to brackets in each entry, is meant to provide the relief of my current perspective, fifteen years later.
