《The Day I Got Summoned in Another World to Marry the Demon Queen》Chapter 38: ~Solitude~ Fleeting Sensuality through the Midst of Longing Nights . . .

>> After the sincere talk with Aeshma, she left me in chamber for the night. I feel like it’s been a long day today.
A lot of things happened. Now that I learned how to read and write even with just a little, maybe I can learn how to use magic, right?
From the previous fantasy novels and Anime series that I’ve read and watched before, through the language of another world possesses the magic usage. Although, the people who only lives on that world can only use that.
“How about me?” I mumbled out. This fantasy-like world is really amusing in its own way. Demons who has been the adversaries of mortals since the beginning, and powerful creatures diversely cohabitating in each place.
Now, I am in the adversaries’ realm, the Demon Race Kingdom, Tophet. Summoning here without my knowledge, the Queen named Astarte claimed me to be her husband, and the next Demon King.
Me, who has never been in a royal bloodline and not a Demon in the first place, announced to be one. And now I’m trapped here without knowing how to go back in my world.
I lay down on the bed, pressing the softness wrapping in my body. I raised my left hand and sees the faint scarlet hue attached on my pinky finger.
It engraved perfectly.
“Why... of all people, why me? Why did that Goddess they called chose me?”
That question left in my mouth.
The time I was supposed to be dead, a sudden brimming light appeared under me. It succumbed me and saved from my cruel fate.
Yet, I thought I was already a goner but finding out I was being summoned here as supposed-to-be familiar of a magistrate.
“I should be grateful for being saved by that mage. I believe her name’s Beelzebub?”
Uttering that name, I pursed my lips. Their name here all indicates the Demons that are believed existing in my world. Astarte is the Queen of the Dead.
Mammon is another name for greed, Tristitia seemed lazy to talk so that kid uses ventriloquism, so he’s sloth, then Beelzebub is the representation for gluttony.
Another mage demon with risqué outfit. “Asmodeus...” I mumbled. That represents lust. Even though they say this isn’t Hell, and they don’t have any idea what that place is... I feel like I am.
Surrounding by those Demons sure portrays I’m in the underworld. Am I really not dead?
I don’t feel any pain as that train passes at me. I don’t feel anything except the surging heat burned on my skin.
Sitting on the bed, I get off and searches for my things. My bag has been kept tidily and my personal belongings still there. Checking up my phone, I see that the battery remains the same percentage.
“Hmmm... I never thought the power would last long, huh.” I utter. This is the memento I only have right now. A single phone that reminds me where the place I was before.
I go back to bed with my earphones and plugged the jack on the socket. I then started browsing on the music gallery on my phone and played the current track.
This reminds me of home. This reminds me of my world... the street lights and night life, revving sound of engine throttle on the road. The busy life of the city.
“I miss my world.” I mumbled. Through the soundtrack, that thought flows out.
What are my parents doing? Do they know I got in an accident? I’m sure they are. I guarantee they know I’m dead.
I am dead.
Huh?
I am dead.
No. I’m not.
I existed once, and this place is where I belong.
No. I’m not. I’m still alive and breathing.
I am still alive, but currently missing in my world. How long am I staying here? Does it also count in my world?
Does the days here and in my world aligned? If I go back, will I still see those people? I’ve been here for a week now. Tomorrow, it’ll be another day and a week.
To distract myself, I browse again on my phone. Rummaging on the pictures in my gallery, the person who I wish to meet once again appeared.
Her smile lures my eyes. I know and I’m aware that Catherine is pretty and cute.
I know she can find someone who deserves her. I also am wishing that she finds that person to be part of her life.
“And yet, she kept those feelings throughout the years. I never expected she will still feel the same as me.”
I smile, but my vision started to distort. That look on her face within my last moment rushed. A sting in my heart arises. Why?
Why did she do that? I know I hurt her feelings but...
Clicking the phone’s power button, I placed it beside me. Curling my body, I closed my eyes as the song keeps playing through my earphone.
I used to like this song. Though, it has the sad vibes but the mellow lurked over my heart. But now I understand, what she truly feels that night.
「 Without you, I’m just a sad song... ♪ ♪ 」
The heavy feeling inside me overflows like a water poured in the glass. It just keeps flowing, without me noticing. It keeps me drowning in this swirling emotion of pain and anxiousness.
For the first time since I arrived in this world, I cried. For no one would ever know what my true feelings are. For I know I can’t lean onto anybody here but myself.
And the person I cherished the most is the one who abandoned me.

Distant Leaps to Circinus
A dark fantasy story that takes place on a reborn Earth. "With all the planets in the universe, it just had to be this one." Not many thoughts came to mind when scientists said they could provide the Earth with nearly infinite power. Humans could only think about the future, after all: they could travel to the farthest reaches of space, never worry about their electric bills again, and give rise to new and innovative technologies. With such good outcomes on the horizon, there was no way humanity would sit idle; instead, they studied perhaps the most powerful entity in the entire Milky Way. It seemed that, after its appearance decades ago, the strange and unmoving black sphere was something of a godsend. There will always be a reason for these things. With one touch, our very reality was but a grain of sand in an hourglass. In an instant, the Earth was gone - replaced by something… different. More than a century later, Earth’s remains have reformed into a completely different beast - a planet both alive and dead at the same time. Physics that were once understood no longer made sense, giant land masses floated in the sky, and billions of people fought for their very survival. Work, sleep, and play were no more; it was time for the world, Circinus, to reign. The birth of Circinus could only be the beginning. The powerful yet ever-elusive black sphere seemed to watch the world from afar - casting light for those below, but never truly emitting light from itself. What does it all mean for the children of Circinus - children born with eyes that seemed to stare into God’s heart?

Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. I decided to release this first because Petrichor is undergoing a full rewrite. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor.
