《Transcontinental》Vol.12 Ch.253 - Monster Kill

Separating from the Cardina Unit just like the plan ordained, we wished each other luck as Pierre and Jorgen went to inform their troops of the formation. Auros, in his giant state, was completely covered up with rags and sheets as he got wheeled in here on a makeshift carriage. Confused on as to why exactly he was going to be hidden right as they were entering the enemy's territory, Jorgen explained his plan with a sigh.
"Look here, God, if we don't hide you like this, then the enemy will completely pick our formation apart with snipers before we even make it to the castle, so keep quiet."
"Excuse his temper, Auros." Pierre chuckled, "In any case, our plan is to wheel you inside and pretend like we're surrendering. This specially made giant carriage you're hidden inside will be their gift from us."
"Uhhh..."
"Never mind him, brother." Jorgen tossed a crate inside the Fighting Gods mouth, effectively gagging him for a time, "He isn't the brightest, so it's best to just give him the proper orders and let him do as he's told."
"Mnf...!" Auros tried protesting, but calmed down after a while.
"God, just keep quiet and do nothing until we give you the signal." Jorgen tapped his tied up body's shoulder, or at least tried to, given their size difference and all.
With that, the only group of the Unit that was dispatched to the main gates was a small envoy consisting of Jorgen and about 50 other Cardina soldiers. The chances between it being Pierre or Jorgen were pretty similar, and since neither side could just agree to being left behind, they decided to settle it with a classic game of rock-paper-scissors.
"Tsk, you yelled out Rochambeau instead, and that confused me." Pierre crossed his arms as he stood back, "Still, brother, you're going in alone. Don't underestimate them just because you have Auros on your side. Tell him to come out on the first sign of danger."
"Brother, the first sign of danger lurks in every moment." Jorgen replied as they started moving the carriage towards the front gate, "I'll tell him to come out when he needs to come out."
And with that, the small 52 man envoy (if you count Auros as well) had made its way to the gates. The guards over there were numerous, and a lot of the Cardina soldiers started feeling uneasy, but Jorgen nonetheless marched on without so much as a sigh. Obviously, they were stopped soon after making it to the gates.
"Halt, you are General Jorgen of the Rebellion!" They all pointed their guns at him, "What is it you want now? We killed countless of your men! Best you can do now is...!"
"Surrender." Jorgen plainly stated as he raised his arms up unenthusiastically, "We surrender."
"Eh?" They lowered their guns in the confusion, "You? Jorgen the Unkillable? The man that singlehandedly fended off our troops during the first wave after we killed General Grimheart? You're just gonna surrender, just like that?"
"Sigh, don't make me have to repeat myself." Jorgen rolled his Eyes, not even minding all the guns pointed straight at him, "It was my brother's idea. He lost all hope after our crushing defeat the first time around and just begged me to run away with him. Of course, I'm not such a coward so as to run away without saying a single word to my opponent, so I had some of our leftover men accompany us to Carmen and give you a parting gift."

"Uhhh, r-right!" The guard was now pretty intimidated, "O-Obviously you're not a coward, Jorgen the Unkillable! We'd be honored to take it inside!"
"Great." Jorgen finally cracked a scary looking smile as he went to shake the guard's hand, "I got bored of waiting... NOW!"
Cutting the guard's arm clean off from its shoulder, he had tossed it off to the side, only keeping the gun it was holding. As the other guards were already aimed at him, it didn't take them even a second to fire. Alas, so too could be said for the God of Fighting. Breaking free of the shackles that held him down, like a chained dog finally hearing his master's commands, he had cupped up all 50 Cardina soldiers in one hand, and Jorgen in the other.
"Haha!" He yelled out, "Finally! Time to wreak some havoc!"
"What the hell is that-!?" An enemy soldier fired as he got smushed into the wall.
"Heh! So this is how it feels to get shot by those fancy new weapons of yers', eh humans?" Auros guffawed as the bullet wounds suddenly disappeared from his bright red skin, "Not half bad! It's got a solid kick to it, and I can see how it would look cool when a seasoned veteran uses it, but that's still eons away from happening!"
Still tightly holding his palms closed to not let any of the bullets pass through and kill the Cardina Unit, Auros thrashed around a bit more around the entrance, killing each and every enemy soldier he could see. Just then, he had glanced back for a split second and saw the rest of the 50,000 men hastily approaching the gates as reinforcements. Flashing a murder-hungry grin at the enemy, he revved up for a mad dash at the stony gates.
"Hold on tight, y'all in my palms!" He advised as he ran to shoulder-tackle the wall, "This is gonna be a bumpy ride, so don't die now!"
Within seconds, the entire outer garrison had been annihilated by the Fighting God's rampage. He, on the other hand, had sustained not but a single injury yet, and it seems his stamina hasn't been depleted at all. This is the true strength of a God, and you would do right to fear it.

"Auros!" Pierre shouted.
"Alright, another layer done!" Auros wiped the sweat off his brow, "Hehe, I think I did pretty well!"
"Auros!" Pierre once again yelled, "Where is my brother and the rest of his envoy?"
"Hm?" Auros turned to him with Eyes wide open before finally checking his hands, "Ohhh, sorry, dude! I completely forgot I was safely carrying them in here. I'll let them free no-HEY WHO THREW UP IN THERE!?"
"Ugh..." Jorgen could be seen wobbling his way out of the Fighting God's left palm, "Never manhandle me again, you got that, God?"
"Duly noted." Auros scoffed as he wiped the vomit in his hands off of a nearby wall, "Still, take a look at all the dead soldiers that would have completely killed you by now had I not done so. I'd say this deserves some praise."
Turning back, Jorgen had finally noticed the almost completely bloodstained pathway Auros had created in his wake. This level of damage could truly only be cause by a God, but oddly enough, Jorgen didn't seem all too impressed. Instead, he simply ignored the Fighting God and went to talk directly to Pierre.

"Did you arrive safely?" He asked, "No one deserted us?"
"Not a single soldier ran away, brother." Pierre gave him a thumbs up, "Now it's our turn to deal some damage!"
"Oi, stop ignoring your God, dammit!" Auros turned livid as he stomped about the area some more, "You brothers are a really annoying bunch, y'know that?!" One's a stickler for the rules who wishes above all else to create the perfect democratic ruling without even realizing it's impossible, and the other is an edgelord with trust issues!"
"Edgelord?" Jorgen turned livid as he tried his best to keep calm, "Listen here, God. Whilst I do agree with me having some trust issues, my skills on the battlefield will not be made a laughing stock."
"Then what're you gonna do about it, big boy?" Auros teased, "If you really wanna earn my respect, then by all means, try and kill more people in this campaign than me! Don't forget, I'm already at a 1000 man headstart!"
"Only a thousand men from all this damage?" Jorgen kicked a piece of rubble, "There'd be more casualties in a natural disaster. You need to up your game."
"Why you...!"
Without even answering to Auros' rage, Jorgen had ran up to the next gate, hastily killing the two snipers who thought they weren't yet spotted by him with his swords. Taking their snipers, he aimed at the top of the hightower, killing two more with just a single shot. Running ahead of the others to continue his rampage, Auros had finally gotten some sense of fun out of this whole campaign as he proudly followed suit.
"I ain't gonna let you beat me that easily, squirt!" He announced as he started destroying everything around his vicinity, "If it's a natural disaster you want, then it's a natural disaster you'll get!"
"You two! Don't stray too far from our men!" Pierre called out for them, but then gave up with a sigh as he addressed the 50k men army, "Well then, what are you all just standing around here for? Let's go help them out!"
"Aye!" They replied as they ran towards them.
Jorgen, now already having made it to the 100 men mark, thought he would never be able to close the gap between him and Auros in time, so choosing to work smart and not hard, he concocted a rather cunning plan. Purposefully riling up the Fighting God by tossing rocks at him, he had successfully stopped him from killing any more enemies for the time being.
"What do you want now, squirt?" Auros stomped in place.
"I'm thinking if I take you down, then I effectively still win our little wager."
"You? Beat me!? Phahaha-UNF!" He stammered back in surprised after getting a large rock thrown straight at his nose, "That shit hurting! What the hell, man! Alright, you damned well asked for this...!"
Opting to kick Jorgen to the side, Auros had winded up for a low kick. Jorgen, having planned all this, had easily evaded the giant's strike, and, in doing so, had begun running up his leg. Before long, he was already on top of his shoulder.
"Hey, get off of me!" Auros tried swatting him away like a fly, "Seriously, we've got a war to fight!"
"Do we, now?" Jorgen pondered, "Then why aren't you sending me deeper into the heart of the enemy territory?"
Taking Jorgen's jeers at face value, the Fighting God had guffawed loudly as he grabbed hold of him and tossed him far towards the castle. Jorgen, once again having predicted this outcome, had immediately readied the snipers he had stolen, and as he spun around in the sky, he carefully aimed at the gunpowder barrels scattered throughout the base, leading to...
"Boom, headshot."
Firing the bullets in quick succession, Jorgen had soon caused the entire front side of the castle to be destroyed. The truth is, he had seen just how much gunpowder barrels were scattered around the base back when he was given the chance to look at Auros' wreckage. Thus, he knew if he was to be tossed high up into the sky, he'd effectively enter the enemy's blindspot, creating for him the perfect one way to blow the entire place up. One after another, more and more posts had fallen to the explosions, and just as he was about to hit the ground after his job was finished, he had tossed away the snipers that were weighing him down and opened up a parachute from his backpack to safely fall back down to Auros and the gang.
"...Eh?" Auros simply looked on at Jorgen.
"Brother, that was way too reckless." Pierre sighed, "Was it at least worth it?"
"Fifty." He said without elaborating.
"Phah! All that flashiness and you only got 50 men?!"
"Men?" Jorgen tilted his head, "Who said anything about men? Ah, apologies for the confusion, I was talking about posts."
Promptly shutting up, Auros had stopped loudly mocking Jorgen in favor of ducking down to ask Pierre for some quick maths. Chuckling, Pierre had explained to the Fighting God that each posts held around about 100 men within it.
"Huh, so wait... One hundred times fifty is... F-Five thousand!?" Auros gasped.
"Try to keep up, squirt." Jorgen grabbed a gun from the ground and marched ahead without a single word more.
"H-Hey! Get back here, who you calling a squirt, squirt!?" Auros waved his fist high into the air before sprinting ahead of him, "You ain't winnin' this one, got that!?"
It was said that on this day, those two had singlehandedly killed the entire front lines, but even that didn't come without its hardships. That being said, Pierre and the other 50,000 men felt kind of like they were wasting their time in comparison, killing off some of the very few stragglers that had hid under the rubble or something to that extent.
