While the bonuses are unexpected I am in no way disappointed by them. However, I really wish I could understand why those effects in particular happened. It is almost like the energy is picking and choosing what it wants to enhance.

If I could just figure out the how and the why I would have a better chance at learning to control it. While I don't think learning to control it would make me a god, it would be fairly close. That is not a path I want to take, I would much rather figure out how to turn myself into a dragon.

All the power of a god, if not more, and a lot less obligations or rules to follow. That is the main reason I won't accept the offer to be made a god, too many rules. What's the point of having all that power if you can't do what you want with it?

Dragons are just as powerful, yet they have no rules that I know of, they are free. Although, from what I have seen they have to sleep a lot due to the low level of mana available. However, I don't have to stay on this plane, I already know about the other planes.

With a dragon's magical strength it would be easy to move between the planes. It makes me wonder why the dragon stays here and sleeps when he doesn't have to. Maybe next time I visit and chat with him I will ask him more about how dragons live.

It would be better to have actual facts rather than going on my assumptions. Although, no matter what the dragon tells me, becoming a dragon would still be awesome. However, I still have a long way to go to have a chance at becoming a real dragon.

Now it is time for the most dangerous experiment that I thought of, the red gem. I use mana to lift it out of my pouch, but I don't do anything to it yet. First I stare at it intently to try and get some information about it, what I should have done originally.

It looks like my eyes aren't at a high enough level to tell me anything about it. So, I can either experiment blindly and get in trouble, or I can try leveling up my eyes. Since I have the energy and I know that adding it to my eyes will level up the skill that is the better bet.

Well, it did make a difference, but not much of one, or at least nothing useful. I still have over seventy energy left, but if I enhance my eyes too fast it might cause problems. So for now I put the fire gem back in my pouch, I will wait a few days before I do anything else.

The goddesses will probably be upset if they find me messing with the gem. However, as the only deity item I have found I can't just leave it sitting around and not play with it. I will be careful to make sure it doesn't get the chance to swallow me again.

As long as I don't touch it physically there shouldn't be any problem, I hope. Even if it does somehow manage to swallow me again, it will not be able to contain me. Now that I know what it is trying to do I will fight against it from the start.

Although, now that I have gotten used to my new body I have to say that I like it. I am thinking that if I can figure out more about the gem I might be able to use it. Between the gem and the Origin Energy I should have an opportunity to evolve further.

While I might not be able to become a dragon, I think I will be able to get closer. That is assuming that I can figure out how to use the gem, if I am even right about the gem. I have high hopes, but I will just have to wait and see what happens.

For now, I fly north through the mountains heading for the meeting point. Along the way I keep my eyes open for beasts as well as strange rock formations that might be disguised beasts. I only use mana to scan the clouds I see, looking for pterodactyls, since I can't detect the wyverns.

However, I don't find anything on my way to the meeting point, nor do I find anyone at the point. As I figured, they are still out hunting and now I am going to have to search for them. I really should have made a second set of communication amulets and given one to Silverstream.

I don't really feel like flying around searching for the elves right now, so I make camp. I will relax for the rest of the day and if the elves don't show up by morning I will go search. Once I have settled in I spend some time just playing with the Origin Energy.

It isn't that I want to experiment more, I am just playing around with the energy. If anything I want to learn more about controlling the energy, so I can do more with it. With everything I have learned I still don't think I have even scratched the surface of what the energy can do.

However, I am not going to be able to learn more unless I can improve my control. So far, all I have really done is throw the energy at things and see what happens. That is just moving the energy around, it is not controlling the energy.

If I can figure out how to give the energy orders, the potential is endless. However, so far I haven't made any progress other than moving the energy easier. My last option is something I am a little reluctant to do, and that is because it involves my soul.

Having only just healed my soul after so long I am reluctant to experiment with it. However, using my soul to directly control the energy is the only other method I can think of. Everything else I have thought to try has already failed, I can't think of anything else.

Before, any contact with my soul would just result in the energy trying to heal me. Now, I am hoping it will do something else since there is nothing left to heal. So, I separate out a single energy and then reach out to touch it with my soul.
