《Draconic Transcendence (Progression Fantasy)》Hiatus

Hi all.
This started out as a passion project during a time when I had literally nothing else going on in my life. I think that marathon of writing daily, then every other day for a short while, was a really fun period where I learned a lot about writing and storytelling. The first thing I want to say is thank you all for reading Draconic Transcendence (even if you just read a single chapter to try it out), and being a part of this journey.
I've had a lot of thoughts and mixed emotions this last week as I was reading through some of my earlier chapters, and I realised something.
I'm not happy with the quality of the earlier parts of my work. I feel like lately I've improved enough to be satisfied with my writing and storytelling (for the most part, there's still a good amount of stuff to work on and improve yet), but the earlier parts have always been super frustrating for me to look back on.
For the last week, I've been wondering about what to do. Do I continue writing new chapters, built upon a shoddy foundation? Or do I pause the new chapter releases, and rework the first 100 or so chapters?
Not exactly an easy decision, mind you. I know this book isn't that popular, but the people that enjoy it clearly enjoy it a lot. But I'm just not happy with how it is right now.
So, here's the plan.
I want to put the book on hiatus, while I considerately work through the earlier parts of the story and improve them up to a level that I am satisfied with. I say considerately because simply editing the quality of writing up to par isn't enough. The story needs a rework in a number of places.

I feel like some of my characters are far too shallow and lack the depth I would want them to have. Many of my story threads lack enough set up to be satisfying. And I've made enough mistakes to say that my character writing is inconsistent. The world, however, is fine. I designed this world well enough in my pre-planning that there's almost nothing I would change about it. So that'll remain the same.
With all of these learnings, I want to rewrite the story.
I will RERELEASE this story as a rewrite, uploading multiple chapters a week (or depending on if I change the format to something a bit different, it'll be one massive chapter a month or something) until we reach where I currently am in the story. Or if I feel like it's unsalvageable, I'll change up the early story completely into something a bit different and rerelease under the same name.
I have NO CONCRETE DATES / TIME FRAME because this is a monumentous task that'll probably take more than a few months (and now that I'm working, it might take a little bit longer on top of that).
The last thing I want to say is sorry.
I'm sorry that I will be disappointing my most consistent readers with this decision. And I'm sorry that it'll feel like I'm blue-balling you all :P
But I hope that when this rewrite comes out, you'll all be joyed to give it a read through, and see the vastly higher quality writing that I'm aiming for.
With that, I'm gonna wish you all a wonderful easter next week, and hope that everything about the rewrite goes to plan and you can enjoy it whenever it comes out.
Take care all
