"Do you really think she will stay stuck on that island? Because I don't, not with how powerful she is."
Krenocia says "He has a point."
Seronia says "No, the longer she stays trapped the better!"
"If it was just humans here I would agree with you. But with an avatar here it means the pantheon he is in will know about her right away. Then they can deal with her! Problem solved!"
Seronia says "But what if they can't deal with her?"
Krenocia says "Even if they can't kill her, it will still keep them busy!"
Seronia says "Why are you on his side?"
Krenocia says "If the avatar isn't busy fighting the maker, what do you think it will be doing?"
Seronia says "How should I know?"
Krenocia says "The avatar is most likely on the island to track down Ash!"
Seronia says "So you want to use the maker to keep Ash safe?"
Krenocia says "Exactly!"
Seronia says "Alright, fine! I agree!"
"You are actually giving me permission?"
Krenocia says "Why are you surprised?"
"I was sure you would say no and then I would have to do it 'accidentally'."
Seronia says "Ash! You!"
Krenocia says "If you were going to do it anyway, why even ask permission?"
"I just wanted to see how you two would react to me suggesting something evil."
The two of them freeze for a second, then they both smack me a few times before leaving. Just as I think I am safe, Krenocia reappears and thoroughly kisses me before disappearing. She leaves me really confused, she is supposed to be mad at me yet still comes back for a kiss?
Goddess or not, I have never understood women and it seems like I never will. Deciding to just ignore it I close the soulscape and starting thinking about my next steps. Since I have permission I won't need to be sneaky about it and can just open the gate.

However, I don't want to open it too close to the town, I want the humans to have a chance. A long drawn out fight that slowly weakens both sides is the main goal here. Ideally I want the maker to lose, but only after depleting most of the human's combat strength.
Since the orcs are to the north I should open the gate somewhere to the south. The orcs would provide dead bodies to the undead far too easily and I don't want that. Putting the undead to the south will also block the humans from moving around the mountains.
After thinking it through I don't find any reason to delay setting up the gate. So I fly south for a couple of dozen miles until I find a decent sized clearing in the jungle. Once I land I shapeshift into an elf and take out the warhammer from my pouch.
Only then do I open up a gate leading directly to the edge of the island beneath the volcano. Almost as soon as the gate is open undead start coming through to my side. I greet them with the warhammer, may as well get some energy while I am at it.
After all, knowing I am on this side should get the maker all riled up and convince her to send her army through. After killing the first few undead to come through I attempt to close the gate. Of course, it doesn't work, but that is what I was expecting to happen.
Now the gate is under the maker's control, she can provide the energy for it. The undead coming through the gate so far are just skeletons and zombies, but now it changes. As soon as the gate is under the maker's control, death knights start coming through.
They are able to push me back away from the gate even though I kill several of them. The maker obviously doesn't want me to be able to force the gate closed like last time. Hopefully the explosion did a lot of damage on her side and that is why she is being cautious.

I continue fighting against the death knights as they push me away from the gate. Once I have collected a hundred Origin Energy I turn and run into the jungle. When I am sure that I am out of sight of the undead I drop shapeshift and take flight.
After gaining a decent amount of altitude I circle back to take a look at the clearing. The gate is still open and the undead are continuing to come through it. However, they are not spreading in all directions like I expected, they are heading north.
It is almost like they can sense the humans and are on a direct path to them. The fighting is going to start much faster than I thought, but that doesn't matter too much. As long as the undead don't wipe the humans out right away my plan should still work.
The energy I collected I spend on repairing my soul bringing my Soul HP up to 180/200. Meaning if I can repair it just two more times my soul should be fully healed. Although, with the undead not spreading out gathering more energy won't be easy.
Just because it won't be easy doesn't mean it isn't worth taking the risk. I will just wait until the undead and the humans start fighting to find an opportunity. Besides, I caused what is about to happen, I should at least witness it.
So as the undead move north I do as well, always keeping them within sight. Since the undead are going straight for the humans I decide to even the scales. Using mana I send a message to the avatar telling him enemies are approaching from the south.
Of course, I use extra mana to mask who I am to make sure the avatar can't track me. However, it is just a simple warning, I can't be sure if the avatar will pay attention. He should at least send a scout or something just to be on the safe side.
If not, then it is his own fault for not being paranoid enough and he will regret it. The undead are slow, it will still be another hour before they get close to the town. Circling and keeping an eye on them is rather boring, but there isn't much I can do about it.
When the human town finally comes into sight I am glad to see soldiers manning the south wall. As soon as the first undead leave the jungle I can hear alarms ringing in the town. Before long I spot the avatar on the wall so I decide to keep at this distance.
I am just here to watch, I don't want to be a distraction for the avatar. To my surprise the undead stop once they get out into the open and wait. They even line up, with more coming out and joining them they soon look like an army.
They form up in squads of ten and each squad has a death knight leader. Eventually there are a hundred squads gathered, meaning over a thousand undead. Then I see one of the males that was with the maker leave the jungle behind the army.

Technocide

Long story short, some people just don't know when to stop pushing buttons, pun intended, and the world has ended in fire. Human kind finally pulled the trigger and decided that 'You know what? Office Days
Follow Captain Monday and the Weekdays team as they fight the good fight against the villainous Weekends. Oh, and file form a33-2 before eoq3. Comes with a dash of The Office and Office Space plus a side of Super Hero satire. Office Days is episodic in nature. So each story is standalone and may vary in length and focus. The Monday Case is the first episode and serves mostly to introduce the characters broadly. Comments get +Rep for effort. This setting was intended to be a comic series but I never found an artist for the job... probably for lack of trying. The "art" is for concept only... it took me far too long to make and it's still all sub-par.
