《Another World Trip: Journey with My Cat and an Otaku Loli Goddess》Chapter 44 - Did I Just Hear A Pop?

The muscular demon’s eyes nearly popped out of his head as all the male cultivators involuntarily held their own crotch. The pain shared by men could be felt.

It was by no means an exaggeration to say that I may have caused this man’s balls to explode.

Long Di’s brows furrowed a little throughout all this, his thought process currently inscrutable.

‘Did I just hear a po—’

Boom!

Before Long Di could finish thinking about the important things in life, the muscular, four-armed demon fell to his knees as tears streamed down his face. There was no power to scream or yell, this was a type of pain that went beyond that realm.

He looked at Long Di with a look of betrayal. ‘Where was the trust between men!?’

“Ahem…” Long Di cleared his throat, before turning to everyone else.

“As you can see, I’m just an eleven-year-old child who was minding his own business, when a sweaty muscular stranger appeared before me. I was only defending myself.”

Long Di’s blank yet innocent demeanour rendered all of them speechless. Yaomu Shou, on the other hand, burst out laughing, going as far as to hold her gut because of the pain.

Never before had she seen someone as unusual as Long Di.

“You shameless thing! How dare you!?”

The group that the muscular four-armed demon belonged to cursed Long Di. The four-armed demon was a powerful type of demon among the demon race known as a Si Bi Demon.

Si Bi Demons were not very bright and were easily provoked. So when Long Di just went waltzing down the line without a care in the world, this simple nature of theirs was what caused what happened to happen, and what will happen next to happen.

Several Si Bi demons stepped out of the demon race’s side and went towards Long Di and the others. The killing intent they exuded was suffocating.

Even the laughing Yaomu Shou quickly sobered up when she saw this and hesitated for a moment before she assumed a fighting stance.

The other disciples were shaking in fear. They knew that no matter what they chose to do, they would be unable to change much of anything.

“We got a whole lot of strangers with a whole lot of danger up in here.”

When Long Di said this, the Si Bi demons nearly tripped over themselves as they hastily covered their crotches.

What happened to their comrade cast a shadow over their heart.

However, how could they swallow this indignation?

“H—He’s just a child, and the rest of them are nothing but brats as well!” One of the Si Bi Demons within the group shouted.

Realising this, they started towards Long Di and the others once more, albeit a bit clumsily, since they still had their hands covering their crotch.

Schwing!

When the Si Bi demons saw how Long Di brandished a sword against the neck of their… ‘incapacitated’ comrade, their expression darkened. “B-Brat you da—”

“Lemme stop you right there. I DO dare… I dare till I dare say I can’t dare anymore,” Long Di cut him off.

“W—What?” The rushing demon swallowed his words when he heard the young child.

Long Di was a boy who felt nothing for a lot of things, and hatred for a select few, a pitiful few, and that… that phrase… ‘you dare?’ that was one of them.

How could you emerge upon someone with the intent to kill? Then have the audacity to ask, ‘you dare?’

The sheer stupidity and hypocrisy that practically dripped from those words sparked a long-doused ire within the auth- I mean Long Di’s heart.

Was this all due to his hatred of repetitive, nonsensical banter? Could be.

Could this possibly be a forum for the author to vent his hate about some of his long-hated tropes!?

Maybe…

But regardless! Long Di hated it, and at the moment, that was all that mattered.

“I implore you,” Long Di continued, which caused everyone to lend an ear to this child, who was brave enough to take a sword to the neck of a Si Bi demon.

“If you want to continue having a civil conversation with me, do not ask me if I dare. Know that I have already gone through the so-called fate worse than death with my uncle, and the mere fact that you sent a ‘strange uncle,’ to come towards me just made it all the worse.”

When everyone heard the phrase ‘gone through the so-called fate worse than death with my uncle,’ everyone’s gaze turned strange for a moment as they looked at Long Di. There was even some pity coming from a few select people.

“Ah, it’s not like that. I meant he beat me… well that and other things, but it’s not what you’re thinking,” Long Di added when he saw their gazes. He didn’t want his legacy to be stained by such a misunderstanding.

The Si Bi Demons, on the other hand, were so angry that they felt they would vomit blood if they didn’t vent somewhere. Was there no handle they could use to handle this little devil before them?

It was incredibly shameful that Long Di was threatening them by holding a blade to their comrade’s neck.

However, it was that very same blade that granted them a moment of reprieve.

When the Si Bi demons saw that the sword that Long Di held was just at the yellow rank, they immediately looked to the sky and roared in laughter!

They sneered in disdain at Long Di for not knowing how high the sky was. “Hmph! You think you’ll be able to harm our brother with a weapon of that level!?”

“You mean this weapon?” Long DI pointed to the sword in his other hand with his index finger and his thumb pointing down.

“That’s right!” They said, thinking that the child had a weird way of pointing.

“So you’re saying that I am unable to harm him with my weapon. Is that right?” Long Di wanted to confirm.

“Why don’t you try it?” They urged Long Di on, wanting him to realise how fruitless his efforts were.

“Do you believe them?” Long Di turned his attention back to the kneeling Si Bi demon before him.

Even though he was kneeling, Long Di still had to look up slightly to make eye contact, which made him feel uncomfortable.

The Si Bi demon looked down on and locked eyes with Long Di when he heard the question, feeling the steel of the blade of the sword on his skin

“T—That’s right….” The Si Bi demon responded, feeling the smallest modicum of energy coming back to him.

“Hmmm, looks like they grew back. The wonders of cultivators. Alright, let’s try it,” Long Di rocked his head to the side as if loosening his shoulders.

Long Di drew the sword back, seemingly in preparation to swing it in an attempt to cleave the Si Bi demon’s head off its shoulder.

Boom!

However, his next action left them speechless.

“Sto—”

Long Di rested the sword at his side before he revved up his foot like a merciless scythe to the strangers of danger everywhere!

When this was done, it then came up with enough force to shatter the attention span of…

Do scythes rev?

Pop!

Long Di’s ears twitched when he heard this. “Did I just hear a pop?”

The Si Bi demon’s eyes did the impossible and stretched out of his head when the kick landed. He then fell to the side in the same petrified state, eyes open and all, unable to do much of anything else.

Everyone paying attention repeated the same action as last time. Heads were turned and crotches were covered.

Yaomu Shou even started laughing whilst holding her fighting stance.

“Devil spawn!” The Si Bi demons were incensed!

“Yeeees?” Long Di answered, drawing his words as if paying less attention to them and more on pondering the mechanics of ‘things that popped.’

Dum!

The energy of the Si Bi demons exploded out, reminding everyone of the horror of their race!

Cauldrons exploded into existence behind each of them, spinning at high speeds.

Demons on the whole were more talented towards body cultivation. Any cultivator that took this route would not be cultivating their spiritual qi, but rather they cultivated a type of energy known as somatic essence.

Cultivating somatic essence was not easy and was widely known as being quite a painful path to walk. Nonetheless, somatic essence experts could fight evenly against spiritual qi cultivators, using just the power of their bodies.

The demons, because they were blessed with innate powerful bodies, gravitated towards this path more than any other race. As a matter of fact, most demons were born with a physique in the earth grade realm, whilst most other races had the majority of their population with physiques in the mortal grade realm.

The Si Bi demons’ pressure bore down on Long Di, finally shaking him from his stupor, causing the latter to look at the perpetrators a distance away with a disinterested gaze.

“What is it? You lost, my weapon worked. On to more important matters, did you all hear a po—”

“Lose your mother! You cheated! Using such a shameless move! I should have expected no less from someone from the human race!”

This comment, for different reasons, angered both Long Di and the human race experts present. The latter was angered because he was insulting the human race as a whole, while the former felt this only because the Si Bi Demons felt the need to bring his mother into their conversation.

Though he said nothing, his gaze sharpened. He only stared back at them, faint arcs of lightning could be seen flashing in his eyes and on his body, his expressionless face somehow seemed to signify anger though it never changed.

The Si Bi demons actually took a step back in fear before they caught themselves and forced themselves to step forward.

If they actually cowed under the gaze of a junior, they would lose the face of not just themselves but their race.

“In any case, I didn’t lose,” Long Di finally broke the silence.

“Bullsh—”

“There are children here, have some class, will you? Plus, I did point at my foot earlier, see,” Long Di demonstrated his earlier pointing gesture.

“See! You’re pointing outwards!” The Si Bi demons roared.

“Au contraire, reference the thumb,” Long Di pointed out.

Just like before, Long Di’s thumb was indeed pointing downwards where his feet just happened to be.

“Tha—That’s just cheating!”

“How? The feet are a weapon too.”

“Semantics!”

“You know what semantics mean?”

“We’re not stupid y’kno!?”

“For scientific reasons, could you please convince me?”

“You’re making fun of us!”

“You know what semantics mean, but not convince? Or did you just misunderstand the word scientific? I know a goddess you’d get along great with.”

The two sides, the human and demon race, watched the back and forth between the two sides with rapt attention.

Their head snapped to the side of who was supposed to speak next. It was an odd sight indeed.

This conversation went everywhere as Long Di took the helm. Eventually, it reached a head when the Si Bi demons finally asked the next logical question.

“So can you hear a pop!?”

“That is not the question,” Long Di waved his finger, “The question is, did I hear a pop? And the answer is, I did.”

The Si Bi demons along with everyone else pondered this statement meaningfully.

Crack!

A crisp cracking sound broke everyone’s reverie, turning it back to the barrier that now had a hairline crack that ran from the front to the back!

This dispelled the impact of the earlier situation like smoke.

Everyone finally remembered the reason why they were here!

It was not to ponder if an odd, expressionless child did or did not hear the popping of a demon’s balls. It was to take the inheritance of the Peach Blossom Sage within the Peach Blossom Sage relic!

And right now, the Peach Blossom Sage Relic was open!
