Chapter 1142: The Battle on the Sunset Peak (part 3)
The young woman in a black robe felt that the scenery had suddenly changed, and she was already in a strange world.
Below were endless rivers. She was surrounded by mountains of varying distances, 3 huge fireballs hovered in the high sky like 3 small suns, emitting bursts of dazzling white light.
It was just that there was no other colors except black and white, looking quite bleak.
The young woman in a black robe was shocked, but after looking around, she calmed down quickly. She sneered.
“Trying to trap me with just a space magic weapon? This is simply wishful thinking!”
At this moment, her arms had already returned to the initial state. With a flash of green light, a simple style bronze long sickle suddenly appeared. She swiped and launched a blurred blade light.
A loud noise resounded through the space!
The surrounding rivers and mountains shook violently, and a huge space fissure was torn open.
The young woman in a black robe left a series of afterimages and was about to escape into the space fissures.
But at this moment, a black light shot out from nowhere, hitting the space fissure. An invisible air wave gushed out from the fissure, causing the young woman in a black robe to stagnate slightly.
At the same time, the surrounding space also released dazzling white light toward the space fissure, closing it up instantly.
2 figures flashed; an old man in a white robe with white hair and a childlike face and a black-faced old man in black linen clothes silently blocked the young woman in a black robe on both sides.
Although their aura was much weaker than the young woman in a black robe, they had clearly reached the Mystic Comprehending State.
Almost at the same time, Grand Elder Xuan Yu also appeared behind the young woman. They surrounded the young woman in a black robe in a triangle formation.
The young woman in a black robe finally looked sullen.
…
The Sunset Peak valley was now devastated. There were rubble and debris everywhere, as well as the mutilated corpses of Hellish-Insect.
The entire valley was silent at the moment.
From the sudden appearance of Grand Elder Xuan Yu to the young woman in a black robe being sucked into the black vortex, it was just a few seconds. The battle between the 2 Mystic Comprehending State powerhouses seemed like a flash in the pan.
Not long after the black vortex disappeared, a pile of rubble on the edge of the valley exploded, and a figure wrapped in black air flashed out from the rubble. After a few flickers, the figure appeared near the space tunnel in the valley.

The black air subsided, revealing Liu Ming’s figure.
He looked in the direction of the space tunnel, then he took out an ancient mirror, which was the Celestial Mirror given by Immortal Tian Ge.
Liu Ming quickly chanted and formed gestures, launching symbols into the Celestial Mirror.
The surface of the Celestial Mirror suddenly glowed brightly. It grew to the size of a person tall. At the same time, circles of mysterious runes emerged in the ripples.
Liu Ming took a deep breath before spurting blood on the Celestial Mirror. A chaotic light shot out from the mirror into the space tunnel.
Just when Liu Ming cast a spell to channel the treasure, in another deep pit covered by countless boulders, a bloody light flashed out.
The bloody light turned into a half-human and half-insect figure. It was the Celestial State Hellish-Insect man who got knocked to the ground by Xuan Yu’s blow.
He looked rather battered at the moment. Half of his body was soaked in blood, and many wounds on his body were still bleeding. The 3 bloody carapaces behind him were even full of cracks. However, his aura still seemed stable. His vitality didn’t seem to be hurt at all.
The Hellish-Insect Clan man immediately let out a rampant roar as he saw Liu Ming’s actions. He charged over and struck with the 3 bloody greatswords on top of Liu Ming.
In shock, Liu Ming still continued to launch symbols into the Celestial Mirror. More and more light beams were emitted from the mirror. Simultaneously, the 12 Mountain River Pearls appeared with a flash.
The Mountain River Pearls radiated with yellow light and formed a giant yellow mountain to block the 3 bloody greatswords.
Boom!
There was a loud noise in the valley. 3 giant meandering cracks appeared on the yellow mountain.
The next moment, the 3 bloody greatswords were shattered.
The entire valley also trembled violently. Light circles mixed with yellow light and bloody light spread to the surroundings.
The Hellish-Insects that remained in the valley originally also flew toward Liu Ming, but when they touched the 2-color shock wave, they were turned into meat paste instantly.
The other Hellish-Insects dared not go forward anymore upon seeing this.
Seeing that the yellow mountain transformed by Mountain River Pearl was not broken, Liu Ming heaved a sigh of relief. He spat another mouthful of blood at the Celestial Mirror.
The Celestial Mirror shone brightly. A huge ancient rune appeared on the mirror surface, then the mirror flew into the space tunnel.
The Hellish-Insect Clan man with bloody carapaces was shocked. He tried to rush to stop it, but it was too late.

The next moment, a thunderous roar suddenly came from the black space tunnel. It was distorted into different shapes. Waves of gray fissures spread out. The flickering black light in the space tunnel was reducing at a speed visible to the naked eye. It seemed to be covered by a layer of gray light curtain.
In just 2 seconds, the space tunnel that was originally 900 meters in size was now only 180 meters in size. It was shrinking rapidly.
“Good!”
Seeing this, Liu Ming felt really relieved.
The Celestial Mirror bestowed by Immortal Tian Ge was something similar to a talisman. It didn’t require Liu Ming to cast a spell. As long as it is activated, the sealing power in it would burst out automatically and seal the space tunnel.
Now that the overall situation was settled, unless the Mother Hellish-Insect’s avatar came, the Celestial State Hellish-Insect man wouldn’t be able to stop it at all.
But before he had time to relax, a bloody light bypassed the yellow mountain and pierced toward his chest.
Clang!
With a soft sound, the Bitter Wheel Sword flew out of Liu Ming’s body, transforming into a series of purple afterimages to block the bloody light in the critical moment. It turned out to be a bloody needle weapon.
However, the Bitter Wheel Sword seemed to be damaged as it became slightly dimmed.
Boom!
Liu Ming had just blocked the sneak attack of the blood needle, then a giant bloody palm the size of an acre came from above.
Before the giant palm fell, a huge bloody vortex had already enveloped Liu Ming’s body.
Behind the giant bloody palm, the Hellish-Insect Clan man looked at Liu Ming with wrathful eyes. Behind him, a huge bloody phantasm aspect rose up, looking like a strange creature with a worm body and a human face.
The sealing of the space tunnel was tantamount to cutting off their retreat and reinforcements. All the Hellish-Insect Clan would perish here if things went bad, so how could he not hate Liu Ming who caused this.
Liu Ming let out a snort, seeming not afraid of it at all. He swiftly launched symbols and turned the yellow mountain back into 12 Mountain River Pearls again.
With a wave of his hand, 6 pearls shot out and transfigured into a giant yellow punch that collided with the giant bloody palm.
A series of muffled explosions sounded in the air.
The giant bloody palm shattered, but the giant fist transformed by Mountain River Pearls was intact.
Liu Ming showed a hint of pride. With his pure spiritual power, coupled with this set of Mountain River Pearls, even facing a Celestial State powerhouse, he would not be inferior in the slightest.
When they were fighting, the space tunnel behind had become a thin black gap.
After seeing this, his thoughts turned quickly.
After all, this was Sunset Peak, the center of the Hellish-Insect Clan army. Now that the mission had been accomplished, he had no intention of fighting this Celestial State Hellish-Insect Clan powerhouse.
After making up his mind, he launched several symbols to retrieve the giant punch transformed by the pearls, then another 6 pearls emitted yellow clouds and brought him out of the valley.
“Don’t run!”
The Celestial State Hellish-Insect Clan man turned into a bloody light and pursued.
…
Over the mountains to the east of Sunset Peak, the battle between the Taiqing Sect disciples and the Hellish-Insect army had reached the climax.
With the addition of reinforcements, although the number of the Hellish-Insect Clan army was far higher than that of the Taiqing Sect disciples, the situation was still slowly favoring the human side.
In terms of high-end Celestial State combat power, the humans and Hellish-Insect Clan were basically on par.
As for the number of Real Pellet State, Hellish-Insect Clan had more than the Taiqing Sect. However, the Real Pellet State Hellish-Insects basically only had their innate skills. Compared with the endless magic weapons of the Taiqing Sect’s elders, they were obviously at a disadvantage.
The rest of the Taiqing Sect’s disciples also formed various arrays one after another. Facing the Hellish-Insect Clan army that was several times larger than their own and had strong defensive capabilities, even if they couldn’t turn the tide of the battle, they could still remain undefeated.
In a battle, dozens of Taiqing Sect’s disciples dressed in white stood in mid-air, forming an array. Standing in the front was a beautiful female cultivator in white clothes. This person was Long Yanfei.

Force Majeure: A web novel
In the Qursan Empire, the grey walls of the city press down on its subjects. It is a highly divided society which is based on the magical strength of its citizens. While the most powerful are trained as Mages, the majority of citizens use their limited skills with essence to power the city in their assigned jobs. Jano is pretty much the lowest of the low in the Qursan Empire. A Class Ten citizen forced into transitory work after having his power restricted. When he gets the opportunity to change all of that, he takes it with both hands. Please note this is an edited version of my story ‘city of captives’. It follows a similar structure but I’ve ironed out some of the kinks. If you read that version, much of this will be similar though there are some differences. This is a slow burning progression fantasy. Please expect at least two chapters per week. I love writing this story but I do have unfortunate things to deal with like work and life outside of writing. I may be able to write and edit more than that, but it will never be less! If you enjoy this, consider following me on Instagram by just searching Crow J Williams.
