Chapter 987
Luo Tiancheng and the others were still terrified by Qiu Longzi’s earth-shattering blow, but they hurried flew over when they came back to their senses.
“Senior Fellow Apprentice Qiu, are you all right?”
“I’m fine, but I just used an ancient sword art, which consumes a lot of vitality. It only takes a while to cultivate.” Qiu Longzi said with a long sigh, and his face finally returned normal.
When the others heard this, they breathed a sigh of relief.
Since Jin Tianci was teleported out of the upper realm ruins, Qiu Longzi had become the backbone of everyone. Coupled with the amazing sword art he just performed to kill the giant flame monster, everyone felt respect and awe.
“Quickly clean up this beast and get out of here. The battle just now may have attracted the attention of others.” As Qiu Longzi said, he ate an elixir and meditated.
The others naturally had no objection to this, so they quickly dispersed and began to collect the materials on this huge giant flame monster.
…
Half a month later, a man and a beast were facing each other on both sides of a mile-sized water pool filled with green mist.
That person was Liu Ming and the beast was an ugly-looking toad beastkin. Its chin was bulging, making an unpleasant croaking sound.
In the center of the pool between the 2, there were a few lotus leaves with faint green glow floating on the water. In the middle of the lotus leaves was an enchanting flower the size of a human head. It emitted a strange green light like a ghost flame.
“I know that you have developed intelligence, so you can understand my words! I’m determined to get the green ghost flame lotus. If you are smart, don’t stop me.” Liu Ming said lightly while holding the Mountain River Pearl, and a heavy spiritual pressure immediately swept away in all directions.
The toad’s giant eyes looked at the Mountain River Pearl with some fear, but its nature of ferocity soon overwhelmed this fear. What’s more, it had guarded the green ghost flame lotus for countless years. How would it give up easily?
“Gua…”
The toad spat out a thick green mist at Liu Ming.
Liu Ming only felt an unusual stench from his nostrils, then he dodged to the side of the mist. Simultaneously, he released a purple sword light at the toad’s eyes.
The toad looked a little bloated, but its movements were very flexible. As it kicked the ground with hindlegs, it jumped and easily dodged the purple flying sword. It landed on the pool side after that

At this moment, Liu Ming appeared elusively in front of the toad. The Mountain River Pearl flew out and turned into a small yellow mountain phantasm.
There was a rumbling sound. An extremely heavy spiritual pressure erupted. Before the mountain phantasm fell on it, half of the toad’s body was directly pressed into the ground by the huge force emerging from the air.
Only then did the toad really know the power of Mountain River Pearl. It looked extremely terrified. It spouted a head-sized green beastkin pellet with rolling green mist at the mountain phantasm.
“Hmph!” Liu Ming quickly launched a symbol at the mountain phantasm, and a layer of yellow light appeared around it.
As soon as the beastkin pellet touched the mountain phantasm, it burst open. The mountain phantasm pressed straight down.
Boom!
With an earth-shattering loud noise, the ground was tumbling violently like it was a water surface. A large pit more than 30 meters deep appeared on the ground.
Liu Ming waved and recalled the Mountain River Pearl back into his hand.
In the deep pit, the huge gray toad had turned into a meat paste.
Liu Ming shook his head. He came to the water pool, carefully picked the green ghost flame lotus and kept it in the Sumeru Ring.
After a while, a purple sword light flew away.
…
In the middle of a desolate desert, there was a dilapidated stone tower standing in a slant.
The tower was simple in shape and about 200 meters tall. It seemed to have 9 floors looking from the outside.
At this moment, the 9th floor had a dazzling blue light.
With a loud rumbling, a big hole was blasted on the side of the stone tower, and a woman in a blue robe flew out of it. If Liu Ming was here, he could recognize at a glance that this woman was Lan Si of the Blue Wood Clan.
At this moment, Lan Si looked slightly tired. She was holding a yellow crystal stone the size of a human head tightly in her hand. A palm-sized golden figure was painted on it. It was sitting cross-legged with an amiable look.
The surface of the golden figure was exuding circles of light, which looked extremely mysterious.
Just after Lan Si flew out not far from the stone tower, there was another loud rumbling. A 90 meters long snake with 2 wings pounced toward Lan Si in an ear-piercing roar.
The snake was yellow in color that was similar to ordinary mud. Its red eyes were ferocious. Except for the giant wings like the eagle, there were even 2 bird claws under its neck.

The speed of the strange snake was extremely fast. It could close the distance after every flash. It was about to bite Lan Si.
At this moment, Lan Si suddenly turned around and launched 3 blue feathers from her head. The feathers pierced through the snake’s stomach.
This attack was so swift that the snake couldn’t react to it.
The snake screamed in pain, falling and struggling in midair.
Lan Si stopped and glanced coldly at the strange snake rolling on the ground, then she glanced at the yellow crystal stone in her hand. After a while, she sighed in relief.
“For the sake of guarding this figure for many years, I will spare your life today.”
Saying that, she stored the yellow crystal stone and flew away.
…
In a dark and serene underground cave, the sound of dripping water resounded, adding a touch of mystery to the cave.
The surrounding area was full of black stones that were flickering in black light. From time to time, traces of turbid black gas emerges from it. It was an extremely pure demonic qi.
Above the stones, a head with messy hair was floating quietly with his eyes closed. It was the Celestial State demon head that escaped from Liu Ming and Jin Tianci.
However, its aura had plummeted to the Real Pellet State intermediate stage.
It was absorbing the pure demonic qi in the surroundings. After a long time, the eyes slowly opened.
“Fortunately, I found such a stone cave with demonic stones. With the help of the pure demonic qi here, I can finally restore a little vitality. But to recover my original strength, I’m afraid that it will take several years of rest to be possible. I can only give up treasure hunting here.” The demon head muttered to himself.
“Middle Sky Continent, Taiqing Sect! Hmph, I will seek my revenge!” After the demon head said bitterly, he closed his eyes a little unwillingly and continued to absorb the surrounding demonic qi.
…
In the underground cave tunnel of a frozen island, Wen Zeng was moving forward quickly.
The underground cave was dimly lit, but for cultivators with Divine Thought, it was naturally nothing.
Wen Zeng flew forward for about a quarter of an hour, and a dark cave appeared in front of him. There were traces of artificial building works.
“I finally found it!”
Seeing this, Wen Zeng immediately showed an excited look on his face. He held a old jade slip in his hand.
“Hmph! Liu Ming, Luo Tiancheng, you 2 have been in the limelight in this treasure hunt in the ruins, but I will not lose to you 2!” Wen Zeng rubbed the jade slip in his hand and muttered.
Since he entered the upper realm ruins, he had been unlucky. Not to mention encountering strong enemies one after another, he had not been able to find a few treasures.
But not long ago, he finally got the chance. He accidentally got an ancient jade slip, which recorded a hidden place in the ruins. He immediately found an opportunity to leave the team and search for this ruin alone.
He flickered into the cave. After walking for 30 meters, a giant stone door with blue light appeared before him.
Wen Zeng was joyful to see this.
The jade slip only recorded the location here, but it didn’t say what was inside. Looking at the situation, this ruin was no trivial matter.
He took a deep breath and cast a gray hexagonal shield. After launching a symbol into it, a layer of silver light appeared in the shield to protect the whole body.
After Wen Zeng had done all this, he felt safe and pushed the stone door.
With a “creak”, the stone door opened without much effort.
Wen Zeng was stunned at first, but he quickly stepped in.
There was still a dark tunnel behind the stone door. After walking forward for about a quarter of an hour, he turned and came to a big hall.
Wen Zeng quickly walked forward in joy.
The hall was quite spacious. There was a square stone platform of a dozen meters tall in the middle. There was a white jade staircase leading to the top.
There was a square white jade on the stone platform, which looked like a coffin. 2 bright lanterns were put on both sides, illuminating the entire hall.
In front of the coffin, there was a young woman in palace costume.
The woman was slender. She was facing her back to the door, unable to see her face.

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

If he’s going to survive the grueling challenges the academy has in store, he’ll need to ace the odd assortment of classes—Fiendish Fabrication, Dungeon Feng Shui, the Ethics of Murder 101—and learn how to turn his unusual guardian form into an asset instead of a liability.
