Chapter 906
Liu Ming turned his body while releasing black gas to protect himself, then he glanced at the direction where the attack was launched.
That was a black-green cliff nearby.
Liu Ming’s eyes flashed, and he could clearly see that there were many spots like white wax scattered on the cliff, exuding a slight chill.
In the vicinity of the spots, there were even more dense holes. The big ones were the size of a grinding disc, and the small ones were the size of a bucket. At first glance, it looked like a huge beehive.
Before he could let out Divine Thought to probe further, there was a sudden buzzing sound from a larger hole. A very agile white shadow flew out and shot toward him…
Liu Ming was shocked. His body blurred and disappeared from the spot.
The white shadow missed and hit on a certain mountain wall.
Boom!
The mountain wall swayed slightly as if it was hit by a huge force. A big pit appeared.
Liu Ming’s figure appeared more than 30 meters away, and his eyes twitched slightly.
Such an astonishing impact, even if his body was extremely tough, he wouldn’t be in a good condition if he got hit.
As the gravel on the mountain wall crashed down, a half-human-sized white body was revealed.
Liu Ming narrowed his eyes.
This thing was an insect beastkin with a very similar appearance to a mosquito. White mist lingered all over its body. It was faintly visible that its entire body was white crystal color. It had a white needle about 2 feet long in its mouth, which looked extremely sharp.
“Mystic ice mosquito!”
Liu Ming’s pupils shrank. He heard about this insect beastkin when he was chatting with Yin Jiuling. This was an ice-type insect beastkin that should have disappeared in the Middle Sky Continent. It could only be seen in the Savage Wild Continent.
It was said that although this insect was not big, it had a huge force and an amazing speed, and it was good at breathing ice. Its cultivation was not low. Generally, they could reach the Crystallization Period after adulthood. Very few could even reach the Real Pellet State, which was one of the most difficult insect beastkin to deal with.
Judging from the aura of this insect, it was clearly the intermediate stage of the Crystallization Period.
The most troublesome thing was that this mystic ice mosquito lived in groups!
Buzz!
In the cave below the honeycomb-like mountain wall. Suddenly, there was a burst of buzzing sounds. One after another while lights came out from the hole. Each white light represented a mystic ice mosquito. There were 18 of them!

Among them, there were 2 mystic ice mosquitoes that were as tall as a person. Their aura was much stronger than the previous one. Obviously, they were the Real Pellet State mystic ice mosquitoes!
Liu Ming was shocked. Because he had consumed a lot of spiritual power to escape from the bat beastkins just now, now was not a good opportunity to fight against strong enemies. More importantly, once the fight drags on, I’m afraid that other powerful beastkins would be attracted nearby. By that time, there would be no return for him.
As he thought, he turned into a silver light that flew away.
But the buzzing sounds followed him tightly.
Liu Ming glanced quickly, and his face turned solemn.
The dozen or so mystic ice mosquitoes fluttered their slender wings and had already caught up. Their speed was actually a little faster than the previous bloodthirsty bat beastkins. They had shortened the distance in just a few seconds.
“Damn it. My luck is too bad. I just got rid of those bat beastkins, and I actually come to the more terrifying insect beastkin nest. It seems that I can’t use the space break talisman easily.”
Liu Ming murmured in his mind, took out a white jade bottle and poured out a white pill. There were 3 spirit patterns on it. It was the pellet grade nine mystic recovery pill given by Yin Jiuling.
After he quickly took this pill, a cool feeling came down his throat and spread out in the sea of consciousness like the first melt of spring snow. The spiritual power that had been somewhat depleted was filled up a lot.
Liu Ming took a deep breath and flapped the wings hard, increasing the speed by a little again. He maintained a certain distance from the mystic ice mosquitoes.
As a result, without waiting for him to breathe a sigh of relief, countless ice needles were coming behind him.
Liu Ming changed the direction and barely dodged these ice needles, flying into a nearby tall mountain peak.
Being blocked by the mountain, the mystic ice mosquitoes were delayed for a while, which gave Liu Ming a chance to breathe. After thinking quickly, he took out the alluring spiritual fluid and uncovered the talisman and stopper on it while tapping the soul-recovering bag with the other hand.
A black gas came out and turned into a palm-sized scorpion on his shoulder.
“Xie’er, take this jade bottle and escape into the ground.” Liu Ming ordered.
“Got it, Master!”
Xie’er spat out black gas to catch the jade bother and went underground.

Liu Ming moved and flew in the opposite direction of Xie’er.
The smell of the alluring spiritual fluid caused a commotion in the mystic ice mosquitoes. They suddenly went in the direction of Xie’er.
At this moment, Xie’er was close to the ground. With a flash of yellow light, she dived under the mountain.
A rumbling sound came from below!
Those mystic ice mosquitoes were obviously not proficient in burrowing into the ground, but they still slammed into the ground without stopping. After a burst of flying sand and dust, they all disappeared.
Although Xie’er lured away most of the mystic ice mosquitoes, the 2 Real Pellet State mystic ice mosquitoes were still chasing after Liu Ming.
…
3 days later, Liu Ming sat on the ground in a cave under the cliff of a black mountain. He was breathing quickly with a tired look.
During the escape, he originally wanted to lead the 2 Real Pellet State mystic ice mosquitoes to a place without anyone to kill them directly, but he did not expect to encounter more than a dozen Crystallization Period eagles and a Real Pellet State two-legged winged snake.
Under such circumstances, Liu Ming had to give up his original plan and continue to run all the way. These days, he not only swallowed a lot of elixirs, but he also used a few precious hidden talismans, a set of formation disk array and flag and Che Huan totem’s ability to finally escape from them.
With his current strength, if he really fought against the 3 Real Pellet State and a dozen Crystallization Period beastkins, he had a chance to win, but he couldn’t be unharmed.
Liu Ming thought so while taking a golden yuan pill to recover his spiritual power.
After another half day, when his spiritual power was about to recover, a yellow light flashed in front of him. A slender girl in black tulle emerged from the ground.
“Xie’er, you did really great.” Liu Ming opened his eyes and said with a slight smile.
For the past 3 days, he and Xie’er had fled in different directions. Fortunately, they had a mental connection which allowed them to perceive each other’s approximate location.
“Master, this is for you.” Xie’er held a green jade bottle in his hand, which was the alluring spiritual fluid.
“Didn’t I tell you through sound transmission that after leading the mystic ice mosquitoes, throw away the alluring spiritual fluid?” Liu Ming said with a frown as he looked at the green jade bottle.
“I know that alluring spiritual fluid is very precious. It may be useful to master in the future, so I brought it back. But only a quarter of it remains.” Xie’er said with a smile.
“Thanks for your effort. If it wasn’t for your innate ability to burrow into the ground, I wouldn’t let you take this risk.” Liu Ming looked at the haggard look on the girl’s face, and he was inexplicable touched.
“Not at all, master. This is what Xie’er should do.” The girl replied with a serious look.
“Remember, in the future, if you encounter a strong enemy that cannot be confronted, take your own safety as the first priority.” Liu Ming took the alluring spiritual fluid and instructed.
“Okay, Master!” Xie’er agreed, then she returned to the soul-recovering bag on Liu Ming’s waist.
Liu Ming stood on his body and walked out. After standing silently at the entrance of the cave for a moment, he moved the magic formula and turned into an escape light and galloped away.
…
Not far from where Liu Ming was, there was a ruin of a village that covered an area of several acres.
The whole village was backed by mountains and distributed in a semicircle at the foot of the mountain. The village was densely packed with low houses made of yellow stones. After countless days and nights, many places had been dried and cracked; some even collapsed already dark. The land here was almost barren.
At the center of the village was a black stone platform more than 300 meters in size. In the center of the platform was a stone sculpture 15 meters tall. Although it was a bit fragmented, an ugly half-beastkin man could still be seen on the sculpture. It vaguely exuded the aura of earth element.
“Senior Fellow Apprentice Long, we have searched this place carefully, but we haven’t found any rare treasures, let alone any demonic qi.”
Several black shadows flashed in the center of the platform. They were the disciples of the Demon Mystic Sect. The leader was the ugly green-haired man, Long Xuan.
“It can’t be wrong, the demonic stone that the sect asked us to find should be in this ruin. We just can’t determine the exact location. Keep looking, this demonic magic stone is very important to our sect. Even if we have to turn the ruin upside down, we have to find it!”
Long Xuan scolded with a low and unquestionable tone. The black flames around him turned into a black wind that rolled at the nearby house.

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
