Chapter 838
Chapter 838: The Secret of Luo Hu
When Liu Ming heard the words, he waved, and a crystal clear water mirror emerged, showing his appearance.
Although his face had not changed much, his hair had become half-grey and half-white; the black and smooth hair was gone.
“It doesn’t matter. There is no danger here. You two should go to cultivate first. I will adjust my breath for a while.” Liu Ming’s face turned gloomy slightly, but he immediately returned to normal and said to the 2 spiritual pets.
“Yes, master.”
Fei’er and Xie’er saw that Liu Ming was indeed okay, and they were relieved. After bowing, they each found a corner to practice on their own.
Liu Ming ate a golden yuan pill, and the spiritual power was gradually restored in the depleted Spiritual Sea.
If the mysterious bubble absorbed for longer, even if he did not die, the vitality in his body would be greatly destroyed.
Liu Ming immediately channeled spiritual power into his limbs, only then the white hair gradually returned to the black color and the dizziness gradually disappeared.
After half an hour, he suddenly stopped meditating and stood up.
At this moment, his appearance was almost restored, but he became extremely depressed!
When he was meditating just now, he checked the situation inside his body. He was surprised to find that the loss of lifespan this time far exceeded what he had previously expected, which was at least 60 years.
According to the original estimate, with his cultivation of the Crystallization Period later stage, it should be more than enough for the bubble absorption.
Now that his lifespan was greatly reduced, it was obvious that this mysterious prison had undergone some unknown change.
“Senior Luo Hu, please come out! Juniors have something to ask about.” Liu Ming thought for a while, then he suddenly cupped his fist and shouted toward the gray space.
“Don’t be so loud. I heard it.” Luo Hu suddenly appeared in front in a blur and said blankly.
“Senior Luo…” Liu Ming took a deep breath and wanted to say something.
“No need to say, I have seen the situation just now.” Luo Hu waved his hand to stop Liu Ming from speaking, and he said lightly.
Liu Ming opened his mouth, but he said nothing after all.
Since he said so, he would definitely explain this matter to him.
Luo Hu was silent for a moment, then he slowly said,
“I originally planned to tell you after a while, but now it seems that I have to tell you about it.”
“Senior, please help me out with my doubts!”
Liu Ming frowned. He had a bad premonition in his heart.
“In fact, this matter is easy to explain, that is, the prison’s true weapon spirit is about to awaken, so the absorption of the spiritual power will be suddenly doubled. But your luck is also pretty good. Your physical body and spiritual power are far more pure than imagined, so you didn’t get sucked to death.” As soon as Luo Hu spoke, he said something that surprised Liu Ming.

“Prison’s true weapon spirit? What do you mean, senior. Aren’t you…?” Liu Ming was in shock.
“You have always believed that I’m the weapon spirit of the prison right?” Luo Hu glanced at Liu Ming lightly with a hint of sarcasm at his mouth.
“Yes!”
Liu Ming nodded his head honestly.
“I told you before that this prison space is a seal that contains a lot of demonic souls in it. Strictly speaking, I’m actually a sealed existence.”
“However, it is different from the general demonic soul. I have the same root as this prison’s weapon spirit, which is a trace of autonomous spirituality that was extracted by the prison master back then. Even though the prison master merged my soul into this treasure back then and became a weapon spirit, I couldn’t be eliminated due to some reason. I can only be sealed in this prison as well. When the weapon spirit has fallen asleep for a long time, I can finally dispel the seal and get out and even control some of the prison’s abilities.” Luo Hu finally told his true origin.
“Oh, junior has understood it now. However, according to senior, what will happen if the prison’s true weapon spirit wakes up?” Liu Ming seemed to have a sudden realization after listening.
“Once ‘he’ fully awakens, in order to repair himself, I will be swallowed, and you, the pseudo-master temporarily identified by the prison, will naturally be sucked to death mercilessly. By the way, this space was also created by ‘him’.” Luo Hu said something that made Liu Ming feel creepy.
Liu Ming was astounded. He smiled bitterly and said after a while,
“Since Senior Luo Hu has the same origin as the weapon spirit, can you tell me the origin of the prison master and the weapon spirit? If I know the details of the 2, I might be able to find a way to deal with it.”
“Although my true body existed for a long time, most of the memory has been lost after being refined into the weapon spirit. As for the prison’s first master and my details, I only have some vague memories. I can’t tell anything specific. I only remember that my true body is gigantic beastkin that can wander around different realms and the prison master has unfathomable strength. He once dominated several realms by himself.” Luo Hu’s face showed a reminiscence look, then he shook his head after a long time.
Liu Ming was speechless after hearing this vague answer.
“I thought that there are still thousands of years for the prison’s weapon spirit to wake up, I didn’t expect it to wake up now. If that’s the case, the only way for you to survive is to become the master of the prison before the weapon spirit wakes up.” Luo Hu looked at Liu Ming and said coldly.

“Become the prison master…”
Liu Ming had a taste of bitterness in his mouth!
Although Luo Hu’s memory of prison was vague, judging from the incredible mystery of the mysterious space, the terrifying power of this weapon spirit was self-evident.
“You can’t do it yourself, but as long as you are determined on this, I will naturally help you a bit.” Luo Hu seemed to see through Liu Ming’s mind at a glance, and he said faintly.
“Senior Luo Hu, please give me some pointers.” Liu Ming asked after staring at Luo Hu immediately.
“It’s very simple. The first thing you have to do next is to break into the Real Pellet State within 60 years. This is also the basic condition for you to become the true master of the prison. If you can’t do this, before the weapon spirit wakes up, the next prison absorption will drain all your vitality away. As for the steps after that, they are all based on the Real Pellet State. If you fail to reach the Real Pellet State, it’s useless for me to mention it.” Luo Hu said with a hint of satisfaction after hearing the words.
“Reaching the Real Pellet State in 60 years!” Liu Ming took a deep breath without revealing too many surprises.
60 years seemed to be a long time, but how was it easy to advance to the Real Pellet State in such a short period of time!?
Just the Pseudo Pellet State before that had stopped many cultivators from advancing.
Crushing the crystal and condensed pellet was an important step in the long road of cultivation. It could be said that once the Real Pellet was successfully condensed, one’s cultivation would have a qualitative leap. It could even be regarded as stepping on the road of a powerhouse.
It was extremely difficult to successfully condense Real Pellet, even the most inferior Real Pellet that condensed through external objects.
Take the Yunchuan Continent where Liu Ming used to be. Although there were not many cultivators in the Crystallization Period, they were by no means too few. At least every sect would have 1 or 2, but the Real Pellet State cultivator was none.
Even in the entire Sea Region, as far as he knew, there was only Siren King, but even so, he had already dominated parts of the region.
Even the 4 ancient sects of the human race like the Taiqing Sect had just a few Real Pellet State cultivators, despite having so many Crystallization Period disciples. They could already become a peak master or an elder. Their position was very well respected.
As for becoming the rather mysterious esoteric disciple in Taiqing Sect, 1 of the prerequisites was to condense the Real Pellet within a certain number of years.
“You don’t have to be too depressed. In these 60 years, I will not hesitate to lose some of my vitality that I have accumulated to help you break through to the Real Pellet State.” Luo Hu glanced at Liu Ming and said slowly with a hint of encouragement.
“Oh, if Senior Luo Hu helps me out, junior has a bit of confidence.” Liu Ming was overjoyed when he heard the words, and he hurriedly bowed at Luo Hu.
If it was really on his own, he was really not sure about reaching the Real Pellet State in 60 years.
Although this Luo Hu claimed to be only a trace of spirituality, his previous performance had always been unfathomable. He wouldn’t say so unless he had a certain degree of confidence.
“You don’t have to thank me at this moment. I’m not helping you free of charge. You will have to swear a heavy oath with the Thousand Tribulation Heart Curse that once you successfully refine the prison’s weapon spirit and become the prison master, you have to find a suitable body for me to leave the prison.” Luo Hu said with a cold expression.
“Of course, as long as senior can help me control the prison, I will fulfill these conditions.” Liu Ming only pondered for a moment, and he agreed to it.
“Very well, if that’s the case, then you and I can get what we need by the time.”
Luo Hu seemed to be satisfied with Liu Ming’s answer, and he looked quite relieved.
In the following time, Liu Ming took the opportunity to ask other questions related to the prison and weapon spirit; Luo Hu tried to tell the truth as much as possible.
This made Liu Ming’s understanding of prison a lot more.
“By the way, Senior Luo Hu, is the Celestial Tablet in my Spiritual Sea also part of the prison?” Liu Ming suddenly thought of something and asked suddenly.
For some reason, he had always felt that the Celestial Tablet was quite mysterious. It seemed that it was not only as simple as guiding his Divine Thought into the mysterious space. There should be some mystery in it.
Now that he had the opportunity, he of course had to make this clear.
TL: Hmm… feels like this Luo Hu shouldn’t be released from the prison.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
