Chapter 642
Chapter 642: Sacrificial Refine
Of course, this Beast Armor Tactic had many drawbacks.
First of all, once the spiritual beast had been forged into a beast armor, it would no longer absorb the spirit of the outside world. Its own survival and increase in strength were completely maintained by absorbing the spiritual power of the master.
Ordinary cultivators attached great importation to their own cultivation. They didn’t even have enough spiritual power for themselves, so how would they be willing to practice a technique that shared their spiritual power to a spiritual beast.
Secondly, the selection of spiritual beast was extremely harsh. The sacrificial refine must be started when the spiritual beast was still a cub. When sacrificial refining, the cub must not have a single will to resist.
Finally, the chosen spiritual beast must have a certain potential to be improved so that its power could be astounding after growing up and the armor it refined could provide a powerful buff. If the spiritual beast was chosen randomly, it would only waste the cultivator’s time in the end.
Of these 3 conditions, the most difficult one was the 2nd point.
As recorded in the classics, the entire sacrificial refine process would cause extreme pain to the spiritual beast. Even the spiritual beast had become a spiritual pet, it would have conflict with its master due to the pain. This would cause a backfire in spiritual power that would explode the cub.
If one was lucky, he might succeed once out of 8 times. However, each failure would cause great damage to one’s vitality. If he still didn’t succeed after 8 trials, his cultivation might drop for 2 to 3 realms. It would take a long time to make up the loss.
It could be said that the technique itself was a choice between risks and opportunities.
Therefore, it specially indicated that those without great perseverance were not allowed to practice it.
After Liu Ming finished reading it, he couldn’t help but feel his heartbeat.
He was considered as a physique cultivator. Under the transformation of Hell Bone Secret and Tiger Dragon Hell Prison, his body was now far more powerful than the general physique cultivator of the same level. If he got another practical physique technique, his power would increase by twice when facing the enemy.
Moreover, this mystic art could even let him still possess the talent of the spiritual beast. No cultivator could resist this temptation.
As for the problem of sharing spiritual power, as long as he had a lot of elixir in his hands, he naturally didn’t have to care about it. Now the only thing to worry about was that it was extremely difficult to sacrificial refine a cub.

Even it was him, he would never be able to bear the consequences of losing his vitality after 8 failures, which would cause serious damage to his foundation.
“Cub……”
Liu Ming muttered and thought hard for a long time. He thought of something suddenly, then he took out a spiritual beast bag from the Sumeru Ring.
After a pink light flashed from the bag, the cub of 8 tentacles sea beastkin appeared in front of him.
Since he bought qiongyu liquid in Zhen Yuan City to greatly nourish this 8 tentacles sea beastkin, it had now doubled in size. The pink spirit patterns on its body had gradually become clear.
Liu Ming pressed on the forehead of the cub while chanting. After a while, his face was full of joy.
This beast still had no intelligence at all; there were only some instincts left.
Before, he was disappointed because of this, but now, this shortcoming seemed to be an opportunity for him.
Without self-consciousness, it meant that it would not resist the sacrificial refine process. In addition, this 8 tentacles sea beastkin was hatched from the Sea Creature Clan’s holy beast’s egg. Its potential was naturally outstanding, otherwise it wouldn’t be worshipped by the Sea Creature Clan as the holy beast.
In this way, it was really a suitable choice to use this cub to practice the Beast Armor Tactic.
After Liu Ming decided, Liu Ming put away the 8 tentacles sea beastkin cub and immediately acted on it.
The dozens of materials listed on the demonic texts were all necessary for sacrificial refining the spiritual beast. Some of them were quite precious yin-attribute spiritual materials.
The materials on this list alone were worth around one million spirit stones.
Liu Ming immediately went to the sect market and bought most of the materials that he needed. However, there were a few rare materials that were not available. After that, he went to a place called Precious Hall and spent tens of thousands of contribution points to purchase all the materials.
After he returned to the cave house, he immediately closed the door and activated all enchantment so that no one could disturb him during the sacrificial refine.
In the secret room, Liu Ming released 8 tentacles sea beastkin cubs from the spiritual beast bag. The pink cub floated in the air under a roll of glowing light, and the 8 pink tentacles waved subconsciously.
Liu Ming made a gesture, then he launched a drop of blood essence into the cub’s forehead. After that, he chanted and changed his gestures quickly.
This was the summoning technique chants and gestures. The 8 tentacles sea beastkin had no intelligence at all, so it easily became his spiritual pet not long after.

With the last bit of black rune immersed into the head of 8 tentacles sea beastkin, the originally lazy 8 tentacles sea beastkin moved and wrapped Liu Ming’s arm with several tentacles.
When Liu Ming moved his arm, a black gas rolled up this cub and brought it to the ground.
As he waved his hands continuously, formation flags and disk arrays flew out one by one. All of them scattered around every corner of the room, forming several layers of arrays.
Liu Ming grabbed in the air, and a silver rune pen appeared. He quickly drew toward the cub in the array across the distance.
An amazing scene appeared.
After the 8 tentacles flickered in silver light, faint silver patterns appeared out of thin air.
Liu Ming also had little knowledge of these spirit patterns. He was doing it exactly according to the methods recorded in the ancient book. It took him an hour to finally complete it.
At the moment, every inch of the cub’s body was covered with dense spirit patterns which looked very strange.
“Cuo!“
Liu Ming shouted lightly. 2 waves of light emitted from his eyes onto the 8 tentacles sea beastkin. The beast immediately stagnated, and its body became a little stiff. The tentacles that were moving slightly before also stopped slowly.
Liu Ming used all his spiritual power to suppress the remaining instinct of 8 tentacles sea beastkin. The next step was the key step of sacrificial refine.
He raised his hand and launched a symbol at the ground, making the array buzz.
“Puff!“
A thick yellow light beam blasted out from the ground, but it was stopped as it touched the enchantment of the cave house.
In the next moment, countless yellow lights condensed into a yellow spiritual cloud in midair, and it spread to the entire secret room in an instant.
Liu Ming looked solemn. He kept launching symbols at the yellow cloud.
As he changed the gestures, the yellow cloud spun suddenly, forming a funnel-shaped spiritual vortex.
At the end of the whirlpool, it was the 8 tentacles sea beastkin cub. It was lying on the ground quietly with a look of ignorance.
Seeing this scene, Liu Ming breathed a sigh of relief. With a wave of his sleeve, a large batch of spiritual materials suddenly appeared in front of him.
Liu Ming stretched out a finger and tapped forward. With each tap, a piece of material flew into the vortex with a whistle.
At the same time, he spouted a stream of pure spiritual power from his mouth too, making the yellow spiritual vortex spin faster and faster. With just a few seconds, the spinning speed was doubled. It was like a bottomless pit that absorbed all the materials.
When the last piece of spiritual material flew in, the spiritual vortex suddenly rolled violently.
Liu Ming launched a dozen of lights into the vortex.
“Boom!“
The spiritual vortex turned into white spiritual flames that burned fiercely. The flames went into the body of 8 tentacles sea beastkin under the vortex.
Liu Ming’s eyes were fixed on 8 tentacles sea beastkin, and he looked extremely tense. Fortunately, the cub seemed to be dead from beginning to end; it didn’t move at all.
After the cub absorbed all the spiritual flames, its body immediately began to change. The spirit patterns on the body’s surface began to flash with silver-white brilliance as if it had suddenly come to life. It began to wriggle gently again.
“Phew…”
After half an hour, Liu Ming let out a long sigh of relief. At this moment, this sacrificial refine had been basically successful.
With a move of his mind, he flicked his finger to launch a black light onto the 8 tentacles sea beastkin cub.
After the beast was awakened, there was a kind of vitality in its eyes that seemed very different from the original dull eyes. It jumped onto Liu Ming’s shoulder with a shake of 8 tentacles, and it made the sound of a baby squeak.
With a thought, Liu Ming quickly channeled his spiritual power according to the methods stated in the Beast Armor Tactic. At the same time, the spiritual power in his body began to be continuously injected into the 8 tentacles sea beastkin on his shoulders.
Silver lights illuminated from the surface of the 8 tentacles sea beastkin. Simultaneously, several dense black lights also emitted in between the silver lights. The silver-black lights quickly enveloped him.
When the lights dimmed, a faint silver simple leather armor appeared on Liu Ming’s body, clinging to his body as if he was born with it.
This armor could barely cover his chest, lower abdomen, neck and other vital places, and the surface was vaguely imprinted with some spirit patterns of the same color.
Liu Ming shook his neck, twisted his waist, and shook his hands and feet. He didn’t feel uncomfortable as if it was his skin.
He was overjoyed, then he pressed on the silver armor. A soft force bounced back.
Liu Ming’s eyes lit up. He flicked his finger to launch a green sword qi.
“Bang“, a layer of silver light appeared on the leather armor, and the sword qi bounced away and collapsed immediately.
Hmmm, this is like using an infant for experiment. I thought the armor would be pink as the same color of the cub. How will this armor evolve in the future?

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

Our story follows Nathan Fox as he graduates from high school and is sent to the Arcane Academy for his required military training as a magician before he eventually serves his ten year term in the military.Nathan has been a true immortal ever since he got a semi-magical disease that makes any damage done to his body instantly reverse itself, bringing him back to his top form on the day that he became an immortal. What will happen to Nathan as he traverses life in the academy? Will his secret be found out?Or will he be able to safely make it through the four years of academy life with his secret intact? That has yet to be foretold. The beginning of the story starts out slow for what many Royal Road readers are used to and then speeds up after around chapter 20 or so. It is a school arc, so it is supposed to be slow. Most of the combat and action isn't seen until after these chapters, which you can view as an introduction to the world, the characters, and magic itself. Many of the reviews are outdated due to edits I've been making along the way through the story. Specifically some of the edits going over the world itself, including pointing out in the story some of the things a few of the reviewers missed when they wrote their reviews, along with fixing other things that were pointed out in the story from the reviews and comments. This book is also being edited as it's being written, so some small parts might change as I get suggestions from readers. I do not write harem or sexual content in my stories. Ever.
