Chapter 237
Chapter 237: The Unparalleled True Demon Resurrects; I’ve Been Waiting For You For A Long Time, Human Ancestor!
This unexpectedly terrifying scene shocked not just Yue Mingkong, but Jiang Yang as well.
“What is this?”
“Just what exactly is hidden inside the Yuhua Heavenly Pond…”
Yue Mingkong’s face grew very solemn.
As someone from the Upper Realm, and as the Future Emperor of the Supreme Immortal Dynasty, she was destined to rule over hundreds of millions of miles worth of territory. And that was nothing compared to her fiance.
However, as of this moment, she felt fear, fear that made her heart palpitate as her blood turned cold.
This was something that should’ve never appeared in the Lower Realm.
Even in the Upper Realm, it was a being that was sure to make the countless ancient Daoist Sects tremble.
But in it, she felt an inexplicable familiar aura.
“How can this be, when did the Yuhua Heavenly Pond nurture such a thing…”
Jiang Yang’s expression shifted dramatically as well; he couldn’t believe it either!
He couldn’t wrap his head around how this could have possibly happened. He’d made so many arrangements, so many preparations, and yet… that chilling aura of madness was unmistakable.
Even after so many reincarnations, this was beyond his cognition.
Jiang Yang’s expression darkened.
The Yuhua Heavenly Pond, once a grand illusion of immortality, was now teeming with Demonic Aura, making it impossible to see anything within.
He was a bit worried about his Pure Worldly Lotus.
‘Did something happen?’
‘And if so, what the hell happened?’
A monstrous grey fog covered the sky as if an ancient, unsightly, unspeakable, unnameable and horrible true demon was resurrecting.
And now that an intruder has trespassed into its domain, it awakened from its eternal slumber. It opened its mouth, and then… the whole world was engulfed in pure darkness.
Not just the Yuhua Heavenly Pond, but even the distant borders of the Tian Domain witnessed a horrific scene that terrified the countless creatures and cultivators therein. Their hairs stood on end, as their very souls froze on the spot.
Ten thousand demons awoke in the distant sky, devouring the sky and overturning the earth.
The light faded, as the sun and moon were bathed in shadow!
At that moment, it seemed as though the end was nigh…
“Could the Supreme Immortal have fallen into the hands of this unknown being…”
Zhao Yi’s voice trembled violently, as did her soul.
As a cultivator of the Supreme-Sacred Realm, she was a goddess in the Tianchen Realm. But at this moment, she was now nothing more than a fearful ant beneath the sky.
Even with the weapon given to her by Jiang Yang, she struggled to feel even a smidgeon of security.
“Kill!”
A headless horseman rushed out from the cliff, a deadly light slashing at Jiang Yang.
“Follow the lord’s order!”
Scarlet figures swept in from the other side of the deep valley, like a mountain of corpses and blood, they swarmed Jiang Yang.
‘Didn’t I subdue these two?’
‘Why can’t I control them?!’
Jiang Yang’s expression changed drastically yet again.
It was the first time he’d ever shown such a surprised look.
He was all too familiar with these two creatures, cultivators in the Great Sacred Realm he’d captured and suppressed before.
They were unrivalled within the Tianchen Realm.
However… do they truly dare to take him on?
Surely, the surrounding formations were under his control?
Jiang Yang’s head continued to spin with questions.
Did some dove occupy the magpie’s nest?
But at the end of the day, he was a veteran who’d experienced all kinds of events. He responded quickly, hailing Zhao Yi to block the shifting Yaoyao.

Regardless of how strong she might be, that little cauldron was a Great Sacred-grade Weapon. Thus, it shouldn’t be hard for it to compete with Yaoyao, whose aura was in the Sacred Realm
Boom!
As for him, he wrapped himself in a stream of light, imbued with this place’s Laws and Order. Activating the Xianlun Seal and flying overhead, he went straight for the depths of the Yuhua Heavenly Pond in an attempt to determine the root of all this abnormality.
The two Great Sacred Realm beings went straight for the kill, as the ground began to quake violently. Great Dao Runes illuminated the area, as if in an attempt to drown the whole world.
Jiang Yang borrowed these methods to resist the onslaught of the two mighty creatures.
Unfortunately, he’d utilized the Reincarnation Seal some time ago when he’d fought and killed his enemies in the Xianlun Sacred Land. If he were to use it again, there was a high likelihood that the seal would be permanently destroyed, sending his efforts down the drain.
Thus, he could only endure, not daring to act rashly.
On the other side, a big battle between Yaoyao and Zhao Yi broke out. Although Yaoyao’s current state was a bit strange, her power shouldn’t have surpassed that of the Great Sacred Realm.
Zhao Yi activated the Great Sacred-grade weapon, a weapon which she could temporarily wield. However, her complexion was extremely pale, it was clear that she wouldn’t last for long.
“The Yuhua Heavenly Pond has changed, it would be best if we were to avoid entry for now.”
“We should wait until the situation is cleared.”
Yue Mingkong appeared high in the sky, a divine mist paving the way for her entry as the aura of the Great Dao covered the area with a dense immortal brilliance. A powerful forbidden weapon floated between her sleeves.
With a wave of her hand, she gestured to the companions and golden-armoured warriors behind her to halt.
It wasn’t just the monstrous grey fog that instilled fear within her… it was the being’s eyes. A pair of eyes so indifferent that they seemed to contain not a trace of emotion. It seemed to regard all life as nothing more than an ant to be crushed at any moment.
Yue Mingkong frowned.
She wasn’t sure if it was just her own delusion, but she felt as if the unknown being was warning her not to approach it.
She grew confused, but coupled with the lingering sense of familiarity just now…
Clearly, it wasn’t human. An unnameable deity, perhaps? Could it be an existence she was familiar with?
‘I’m probably overthinking it.’
Boom! Boom! Boom!
At that moment, the grey fog that covered the sky became even fiercer, its aura threatening to swallow the whole of the Tian Domain.
A large palm loomed from within, enshrouded by the thick grey fog as though it were some ominous sign of destruction. Laws of the Great Dao intertwined and descended with ease.
Unfortunately for Zhao Yi, she was too preoccupied with her battle to react. She could only look on in horror as the palm descended, like a piece of heaven, it turned the earth upside down!
Boom!
The void exploded!
She sacrificed the Great Sacred Weapon, being violently slapped away. Clear cracks appeared on the weapon’s surface, as its runes began to dim.
“Jiang Yang, save me…”
Horrified and in a state of despair, she was miserably pale.
Puff!
The palm immediately came down on her. Right before it even touched her, her body exploded.
Jiang Yang, who was rushing to the depths, frowned. He was dissatisfied with her performance, but he thought of something…

A cloud of clear light appeared with a wave of his sleeves, instantly wrapping around Zhao Yi’s remnant soul and rescuing her.
If Zhao Yi were to die at this very instant, it would undoubtedly cause him trouble and drain his energy considerably. After all, a Great Sacred Realm cultivator was still just a Great Sacred Realm cultivator.
Upon smashing her body, the large palm moved towards Yaoyao below.
Yaoyao was very strange. She held an icy expression as if she were some aloof goddess.
She could feel her own aura, but to truly control this power was beyond her.
Her temperament, affected by this power, had become extremely cold.
Even as the palm fell, her expression didn’t change in the slightest, almost as if she didn’t even intend to resist.
However, with a boom, her petite body was sent flying into the Heavenly Pond, falling into it with a thud.
“Yaoyao…”
Grandma Yinhua was so worried that she immediately thought to help her. However, fear had stopped her, fear for the frightening being that had formed in the sky.
But, to her surprise, it didn’t care about her.
She breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time, she couldn’t help but smile bitterly. She didn’t know whether to be happy or upset for being treated as an existence that was even lower than an ant.
For a while, the Yuhua Heavenly Pond fell silent once more.
Other than the grey fog that continued to cover the skies, not a single thing could be seen, nothing other than the terrifying aura that continued to spread throughout the entire Tian Domain.
All the while an even more terrifying power seemed to be brewing in the deepest depths…
Yue Mingkong’s face turned ashen, fully aware of the gravity of this situation.
She and her people were on the outskirts of Yuhua Heavenly Pond, but she didn’t dare to make a move.
That ominous warning she “received” from those pair of indifferent eyes, she just couldn’t get it out of her head.
“What happened?”
“What’s going on? Heaven and earth are being torn apart and the entrance has disappeared!”
By now, the sudden change had finally sunk into the cultivators outside.
Their countless faces turned pale, noticing from afar that the sky had vanished, unable to sense even a single breath of life.
Questions of how and why only grew in proportion with their fright.
Heaven and earth seemed to collapse and rip apart, as flames soared into the sky and swept down like a meteor…
The entire sky was like a mirror, breaking into pieces as the winds blew violently. Like the endless void, the four directions were dark and empty.
A sea of void and chaos, rumoured to be the home of many ancient beasts.
Even Quasi-Supreme beings must be careful when crossing. There were terrifying laws in place to suppress them, and they will perish if they weren’t.
What happened at the Yuhua Heavenly Pond shocked many of the most powerful cultivators from all over the Tianchen Realm.
Their eyes widened in shock, as various laws permeated the surrounding area, the divine light of order was like a raging flame that reduced everything to cinders.
“What kind of demon could possibly be awakening?”
“With the power to destroy even Heaven and Earth… no wonder even the Supreme Immortal fell at its hand…”
Many powerful beings stood with pale faces. In their eyes, this day was a complete catastrophe for the entire Tianchen Realm.
The strong winds that blew from within were so powerful that ordinary cultivators would likely die the moment they came into contact with it.
In addition, there were various other disasters pouring in from outside the realm…
As they thought of this, the countless cultivators and creatures began to despair.
At this moment, in the deepest part of Yuhua Heavenly Pond…
Accompanied by the thick chaotic mist, a green lotus entwined with chaotic Qi took root, holding the Qi down.
‘Looks like things aren’t completely out of control…’
Jiang Yang arrived here after sacrificing the Xianlun Seal and defending everything with his supreme might.
The figure high in the sky, obscured by the monstrous grey mist, did not strike at him.
He was relieved but puzzled. However, now was not the time to ponder about such things.
Only by merging with the Pure Worldly Lotus and borrowing the power of the Dao Fruit, will he be able to resist that strange existence.
What happened today was way beyond his imagination.
Jiang Yang felt that Gu Changge must have been extremely confident to come to the Yuhua Heavenly Pond, but he probably didn’t expect to meet such a strange existence here.
He couldn’t see who or what it was.
From what he could tell, it was similar to a Dao Dharma body, but the vast divine power it held was incomparable to ordinary Dao Dharma bodies.
Jiang Yang suspected that it was an ancient deity or true demon that had slumbered here when he wasn’t aware.
But all in all, as long as this Pure Worldly Lotus survived, everything would end up being just fine.
“Jiang Yang, what do we do now?”
Once someone reaches the Sacred Realm, being reborn from just a drop of blood wasn’t a big deal so long as their true spirit remained intact.
Jiang Yang rescued Zhao Yi at just the right moment. And now that she’d rebuilt her body and appeared beside him, she couldn’t help but worriedly ask.
“Help me protect the law formations, no matter the cost. Guard this place, so that no one enters.”
Jiang Yang’s expression was rarely heavy, but at this moment, he revealed a cold and solemn, unquestionable demeanour.
He saved Zhao Yi for this reason.
If someone broke in, things would probably come to nought.
Jiang Yang was confident in his preparations, it’s true. Even now, there were layers upon layers of protective formations outside.
However, with all the anomalies that have appeared…
Zhao Yi nodded solemnly, “I understand.”
Jiang Yang frowned as he carefully thought of whether to hand her the Xianlun Seal. Eventually, he did, and he instructed her on how to activate it and awaken the weapon spirit within.
As someone in the Supreme Sacred Realm, she should just barely be able to activate it.
What made the Xianlun Seal stand out was that its weapon spirit wasn’t naturally born, it was instead refined with the true spirit of living beings when it was first crafted.
This was one of the many things Jiang Yang had considered and prepared beforehand.
With the Xianlun Seal in hand, Zhao Yi should be able to guard the formations more reliably.
Soon, Jiang Yang regained his composure and walked towards the Pure Worldly Lotus, as layers of chaotic mist swelled and fell, obscuring the surroundings.
Fusing with it should be an incredibly simple task; it just needed a bit of time.
Once he fuses with it, a single ray of power, born from the unification of all the worlds would erupt, granting him immense strength.
The mysterious woman who chased him outside could easily be killed.
However, the moment he stepped into it…
“What-“
His eyes suddenly widened, and his hair stood on end as his scalp was almost lifted from his skull. His blood turned to ice, as his very soul trembled.
“How can this be…”
For the first time, Jiang Yang’s voice trembled, losing its prior calm and indifference, as the illusion of control was shattered right before his very eyes.
‘He’s supposed to be dead…’
‘By the looks of it, he’d been waiting.’
Jiang Yang’s head was abuzz as if struck by a bell that emitted a sound that was difficult to define.
1
He struggled to open his mouth, his voice a mix of anything but calm, “You- why are you here?”
Gu Changge sat cross-legged on top of the Pure Worldly Lotus, his figure shrouded in mist, as the monstrous demonic aura constantly penetrated and intertwined, filling every inch of the void.
He looked at Jiang Yang and asked:
“Why can’t I be here? … Human Ancestor.”

Stories Of Indlu
“… to grow, for opportunity, for adventure, to be free. Join the colony ship Nao Vittoria. Be the first to live amongst the stars.” It was obvious from the literature that the NextStar corporation wanted the young, the adventurous and the brilliant. So why were the super rich fighting over seats? Why were AI’s trying to stow away? Did this signify a premature end to human/AI civilisation? Why had some questions directed to NextStar been aggressively sidelined? Why did the colonist inflight entertainment trial produce fatalities? In fact, why colonists at all? Those and many other questions, however, boiled down to a single central question. Why was the world’s most advanced AI dumped with a hundred year babysitting job for 50 million people speeding towards an uninhabitable planet? It made such little sense. The only sure way to get answers, catch a ride on the Nao Vittoria and play the inflight entertainment game, Pax Domini. I joined, and this is my story. Well, I feature. OK, I’m more of a spectator. Actually, I’m completely irrelevant I was just there. I’m only the storyteller. But what a story to tell. --------- Hi All, Content will be published weekly usually Saturday and typical posts will be 25oo to 4ooo words per post. Though for some reason the Royal Road word count does not include the content of tables so some posts may not appear to meet this criteria. Currently I have written sufficient unedited content to keep this schedule for the next 12 months (half way through the first story arc). My current productivity would indicate that I can maintain this schedule for well into the second story arch. This also allows for the additional content that will be posed exclusively on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/StoriesOfIndlu). This additional content follows minor characters, peripheral events, maps and other content that does not take away from the main story. I would love to accelerate the post schedule but to meet this I need the assistance of more beta readers than I currently have. So please let me know if you are interested. - Andy ©2022 Andy Leauter.
