Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Li Rans Devil Path!
Chapter 108: Li Rans Devil Path!
Li Ran and Qin Ruyan left the Sacred Hall and headed down the mountain.
Demon Peak had the Grand Emperor’s Dao, which made it impossible to fly here, including the use of flying magical artifacts.
They had to pass through the mountain gate obediently, otherwise, they would be crushed to death by the Dao.
Qin Ruyan nervously followed behind him.
The first time the two met, they were unhappy with each other. And this time, she was at Li Ran’s turf. How could she not panic?
Fortunately, Li Ran had no intention of pursuing the matter and remained silent on the way.
“Sheng Zi.”
“Lord Sheng Zi.”
“Greetings, Lord Sheng Zi.”
Along the way, the disciples greeted him respectfully.
Qin Ruyan was able to tell that these disciples were not forced to greet him by his status, but rather respected and worshipped him from the bottom of their hearts.
She similarly was the Holy Maiden, but this feeling was something she could not experience in the sect.
She couldn’t help but say, “It seems like Sheng Zi Li has great prestige in the sect.”
Li Ran said indifferently, “Only if you care about their lives will they protect your dignity.”
Before, most of them had been afraid of him. Only after he had sent back many of his disciples had he obtained everyone’s respect.
Such things were mutual. She knew that he was mocking her.
That day, when she saw her fellow disciples die under his spear, she had no intention of stopping him at all. In fact, she was a little relieved that she was not the one who died.
But shouldn’t the Devil Sects be selfish?
This was a concept that was planted to her from a young age, and it was also the impression that most people had of the Devil Sects.
“Sheng Zi Li’s thoughts are quite special.”

Qin Ruyan thought for a moment and said, “Unlike the other Devil Sects, they are so calculative.”
“Scheming?”
Li Ran sneered, “I’ll take what I want. Why would I have to scheme? Cultivation had an indomitable aura, and those who were extremely serious would never be able to enter the hall of elegance!”
Qin Ruyan was stunned for a moment. She then shook her head and said, “What you said sounds like a swordsman from the Myriad Sword Pavilion, not the Sheng Zi of the Devil Sect.”
“Then what do you think is a devil?” Li Ran asked back.
Qin Ruyan thought for a moment and realized that she was unable to answer.
She only knew how to survive among the devil sects, but she did not seriously think about what a devil was.
“Treading the path of destroying heaven, overturning the heaven and earth, grasping yin and yang, there is no end.”
“My will is the will of Heaven, and my methods are of my own!”
“This is the devil’s path!” Li Ran said with a cold smile. “Cultivation is a struggle against the heavens. Those who only know how to scheme will eventually become corpses along the Immortal Path!”
This was what he had been thinking all along. It was a good opportunity for him to express his thoughts.
Qin Ruyan was stunned. In her impression, the Devil Sects seemed to only be able to live in the shadows. This world was the world of the Righteous Path.
However, Li Ran’s words completely shocked her.
Seize the Heavenly Dao, grasp Yin and Yang?
What kind of confidence and imposingness was this!
“No wonder Sheng Zi Li was able to crush all the heavenly geniuses with a single stroke. Merely this disposition isn’t something we can compare to.” Qin Ruyan gave a bitter smile
These words were not words of flattery. They came from the bottom of her heart.
However, Li Ran didn’t accept her comment and sneered. “Don’t compare me to you! Abducting a young girl and absorbing her essence? In my opinion, your Joyous Unity Sect is worse than the maggots in the mud!”

There were too many unfair things happening in the world, and he couldn’t be bothered to look at all of them individually.
But this did not affect his disdain for the Joyous Unity Sect.
Hearing this, Qin Ruyan’s face paled.
However, she didn’t get angry. Instead, she said in a low voice, “My sect’s affairs are quite complicated. Sect Master Liu pays attention to the harmony of yin and yang. He never forces others. Only Ancestor Huan Xi is the one who picks yin to nourish the yang…”
“You don’t need to explain to me,” Li Ran interrupted. “I’m not interested.”
Qin Ruyan’s breathing became sluggish. With a bitter smile, she stopped talking.
As they walked out of the mountain gate, Li Ran stopped.
“Holy Maiden Qin, I’ll send you here. Take care.” After saying that, he was about to leave.
“Wait a moment.”
Li Ran asked impatiently, “What’s the problem?”
Qin Ruyan said, “That servant of yours has a Maiden Spirit Body. Do you know about this?”
“I know.” Li Ran nodded.
Qin Ruyan continued, “For any cultivator, this constitution is extremely tempting. Especially for the dual cultivation sects, they are even more eager to obtain it.“
She took out a black medallion and said, “This is Holy Maiden of Joyous Unity Sect’s secret medallion. With this medallion, no dual cultivation sect in the Vast Land would dare to touch her.”
Li Ran frowned.
What did this mean?
Just now, his attitude had been vile, and he had even insulted her sect, yet she had even given him the title plate?
Could this girl be a masochist!
Qin Ruyan saw through his thoughts and explained, “Don’t misunderstand. Your words about the ‘devil’ just now gave me some insights. This is just a reciprocation.”
Li Ran refused, “I’ll protect my people. I won’t have to trouble you.”
Qin Ruyan hurriedly said, “I know you look down on the Joyous Unity Sect, but for her safety, I hope you can accept it.”
“What happened before is an example. You can’t always be by her side, correct?”
When Li Ran heard this, he thought for a moment and reached out to take it.
He had seen the plate with his eyes, but there was nothing fishy about it.
“I’ll accept the title plate and accept your favor.”
After saying that, he turned around and left.
Qin Ruyan did not know why she was so happy to see him accept her token.
“Li Ran… he is a special person.”
She took a serious look at his back, and with a charming smile, her figure turned into green smoke and dissipated.
—
The cold wind whistled and snowflakes fluttered.
The weather was getting colder and colder, and it was getting closer and closer to the Frost Origin Festival.
In the Sect Master’s bedroom.
Leng Wuyan propped her chin up and looked out of the window in boredom. “I wonder what Ran’er is busy with. He hasn’t come looking for me in the past few days…
“Could it be that you’ve forgotten your agreement with me?”
“Recently, the female disciples of the sect seem to be a bit indecent. They surround Ran’er every day and even give him gifts…” Suddenly, she thought of something and sat up straight. “Right, a gift!“
“He’s prepared so much for me, but I don’t seem to have given him anything!
“How stupid!”
Leng Wuyan forcefully knocked her head.
“It must be because I didn’t prepare a gift for him. He doesn’t feel well, so he didn’t come to me!”
“Yes, a gift…”
Leng Wuyan tugged at her hair as she pondered. “What should I give him?”
Unlike Li Ran, her knowledge in this area was too limited…

Isoptera
Reincarnated, Crete finds himself not in some overpowered human body with the basic kill the demon lord cliche. No, he is reincarnated as a weak, powerless, and quite frankly worthless existence. Maybe his was a mistake, as he wasn't even reincarnated as a human but instead a humble and meek existence, A termite. Follow Crete as he adventures, without the memories of his previous life intact, in this New World, Honera. He trudges on endlessly with his indomitable willpower and journeys as a meek termite who is fraught with trials and tribulations; as he seeks for the power to just live in peace and without the prejudice everyone seems to have against his kind. Upload Schedule: M-W-F Hey guys this is my first attempt at a novel, based on the type of fiction I enjoy, it'll be mostly slow-paced at the start as I try to work out the kinks and learn more about "Isopterans". However, if y'all enjoy it leave a few nice reviews, or if you don't, leave some constructive criticism. Both would be appreciated. I also would be setting up a Patreon if any are interested in donating to help fund the story or you can send a donation through PayPal directly. I want to create something that we as RRoaders can enjoy together. You can also access the Discord here [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
