Chapter 195 – The Dawn of the Last Day

After that, Umi and I enjoyed our time at the inn as much as we could since tonight would be our last.

We had a full course meal like yesterday, played a game of ping pong and after we calmed down from all the excitement, we took a walk around the inn.

Riku-san went somewhere by himself after dinner because he had something to talk about with Shizuku-san. When we returned to our room, he still wasn’t back.

The two childhood friends seemed to have a lot to talk about.

“Haah…”

“Are you sleepy, Maki? It’s already midnight, so you should get to bed quickly. We are going to leave early tomorrow.”

“Mm… I’ll go to bed… What about you?”

“If you are going to sleep, I’ll sleep too. As for my brother, he isn’t a child anymore, he’ll be back whenever he wants to.”

I was going to wait for Riku-san to come back, but my eyelids feel heavy. The fatigue from yesterday and today finally caught up to me, it seemed. I wanted to hear what Riku-san had to say, but I guess I had to wait for tomorrow.

After cleaning up our mess, we went to our respective futons– Or that what was supposed to happen, but she crawled up in mine.

“Uh, do you want to sleep with me?”

She nodded silently. I shifted my body position so she could get inside.

“Thank you. Ugh, it’s stuffy… And hot too…”

“Of course, it’s summer, you know? You should go back to your own futon.”

“Should I really?”

She then smiled and moved her body even closer to mine.

So unfair. She already knew my answer, yet she still asked that question to me.

“Nah, stay if you want to.”

“Then, hug me tighter.”

“Sure, sure…”

It felt hot and uncomfortable, but since Umi wanted it, I was fine with it.

I turned off the light and hugged her tight under the covers.

The warmth and the softness of her body enveloped me as the scent of her shampoo entered my nose. Both her skin and her hair were so very pleasant to the touch.

Whenever I did this, my little friend down there would react strongly, but Umi would always disregard that. If I tried to move away, she would stick even closer to me. Honestly, it felt a bit embarrassing, but this much embarrassment was fine if it made her happy.

“Maki…”

“Mm?”

“In the end, we didn’t end up using it, huh?”

“…Ah, right.”

She was talking about the unopened ‘0.01’ box that was sitting inside my bag.

We planned on doing it somewhere as a backup plan if Umi’s parents didn’t approve our plan to go on a trip, but Riku-san made our trip possible. After that, we tried to cross that line, but Reiji-kun disturbed us.

There were other few good moments to do it, but every single one of them was when we were playing around outside.

“Should we just do it now, so it wouldn’t be a waste of money?”

“It’s not really a waste, just call it a future investment… But, should we really do it now? We’re alone currently, but Riku-san might come in at any moment, you know?”

For the first time during this trip, we were by ourselves inside a room. Moreover, we were laying down on the same futon… Still, if Riku-san were to come in when we were in the middle of it, that would be an absolute disaster.

Now I’m getting anxious for no reason.

“W-We should just go to bed. Sorry, I’m such a coward, but at least we accomplished our main goal, right?”

“Well, it’s true that we had a lot of fun yesterday and today.”

We didn’t manage to do some things, but we managed to fulfill our goal to have fun and became even closer.

Sleeping together, waking up together, bathing together, playing together… She was with me all the time and that was enough to make me really happy.

I’d come to like her even more and I wanted to become even closer to her in the future.

I’m glad that I managed to muster up my courage and ask her parents to let us go on a trip.

“Umi… Um… Thank you for going along with my selfishness.”

“Hehe, you’re welcome. You should be thankful. A girlfriend like me who’d go along without any questions asked is rare, you know? That’s why, don’t you ever let me go, okay?”

“Okay. I’ll be with you as long as I can…”

“Hehe, if that’s what do you want then, sure~”

After a bit more cuddling while joking around in the futon, under each other’s body warmth, we eventually fell asleep.

As I was feeling comfortable in my sleep, it happened.

“Maki… Oi, Maki.”

“Mm?”

I felt a voice calling me, so I slowly opened my heavy eyelids.

At first, I thought it was Umi who did it, but she was still sleeping comfortably in my arms. Her face looked happy as her drool fell into my yukata. Well, this part of her was cute too.

Since Umi wasn’t the one who called me, then it should be Riku-san.

“Sorry, Maki, for waking you before the sun is up.”

“It’s fine… Welcome back, Riku-san. You’re late.”

“Well, after we put Reiji-kun to sleep, Shizuku made me drink with her. That girl was really bad with alcohol, so I had a tough time… Ah, right, I didn’t actually drink. I know that I have to drive today, so yeah.”

So that was why he had a weird smell. They were drinking all night long. Because of that, he seemed so tired and sleepy.

Normally, he would just go to sleep in a situation like this, but since he woke me up instead, that could only mean…

“I need your help, Maki…”

“Sure? If you don’t mind me helping you, I’ll be glad to help you, Riku-san… What do you need me for, though?”

“Um… I need some love advice… There’s no one else I could turn to, help me.”

He turned his gaze away as he blurted that out.

It seemed like my request made him have a change of heart, huh?
