Chapter 40 - The Great Orc Invasion II
The eastern continent, Erebus, is a mystical land with numerous species. One of them is the Orc species and their various sub-species, High Orcs and Blood Orcs. It is a tumultuous land riddled with violence and chaos after the climax of the Omen Campaign. Before the significant changes happening in the eastern continent, it was a relatively peaceful place that enjoyed harmony between the races. However, everything changed when a few players in the dark approached the rulers of Erebus. And, from then on, the Radiant Kingdom and the Eldar Kingdom joined the Coalition Army against the Omen Nation.
The Radiant Kingdom is an ancient civilization governed solely by humans. They have an amicable sentiment towards the numerous species inside and outside of the country, especially, the Dwarven race. The Silver Dragon, Cepheid, the reigning monarch of the ancient kingdom had watched over his creation since the beginning in the guise of a human facade. Although the land mass of the Radiant Kingdom is not as large as Arcadia, they are by no means weak in any regard. Yet, Cepheid would deign to ally himself with neighboring countries and different species. This spells something fishy amiss.
When the monarchs and leaders of Erebus had convened, Cepheid had sent his puppet king so that he may sway the scenes from the shadows as he’s always done. In this case, the Silver Dragon’s lifelong wish of destroying the Orc species and enslaving the Dwarves may come true in the Dragon Campaign. Cepheid was a saboteur that would have his enemies killed by another hand.
This brings us to Fort Graham, an ancient fortress created to separate the middle continent, Hollow World, and the eastern continent, Erebus. Glenn Courtwell, the Lord Apprentice was stationed in his position outside of Fort Graham and witnessed the sea of Orcs. Thump. Thump. Glenn’s heartbeat began to race. Master said I would have to kill close to half a million of them.
Lord Vicegerent had imposed for his apprentice to lead the battle by slaying at least 400,000 Orcs. As an individual who had newly entered the Mystic Realm, such a task was impossible. “I don’t expect you to survive.” Those were the words that Jinn had said to Glenn before being deployed to Fort Graham. Even though his words were harsh, Glenn thought that this was one of the parables of his Master to teach him something greater.
GRUNT! GRUNT! SNARL! SNARL!
The Orcs were openly mocking the individuals guarding Fort Graham as they saw nine souls, Glenn Courtwell, Claudio Valeth, Quasar, Emir Sarjace, Calavera, Marquis Bismark, Gerald Killeway, Nocturne Mallory, and Caesar Ryozen. They’re mocking us. Caesar transmitted his words.
Orcs are dumb. Pay no heed to them. Claudio Valeth replied. His hatred for Orcs hasn’t changed him all this time even after transforming into a Doom Lord. I’ll commence the battle with something those dumb Orcs could never imagine.
“Lightning Needle Shower Rain!” Claudio Valeth invoked one of his signature spells and blasted toward the sea of Orcs.
The translucent needles looked like cracked glasses and flew at sonic speed. Whistle. The Dual Sword Saint, Gerald, was impressed. They didn’t like that.
Kuku. Claudio Valeth laughed at the slaughter of the Orcs. Lord Apprentice, do you have any words for us in this battle? Claudio asked the highest-ranked individual amongst the company of ancient High Rankers.
Nothing. Glenn Courtwell gave a nonchalant reply. You are people who can stand on their own two feet and break the chains of fate. I don’t need to tell you what needs to be done, only that, you carve out your destiny in this new life that has been given to you.

The young master speaks like a priest who only recites scripture. Caesar Ryozen thought to himself as the words said by Glenn had encapsulated the party.
Kuku. Emir Sarjace smiled. To think I would be having a leader greater than myself? Calavera sensed the feelings of his prince even though they were placed at a far distance. His words must have captivated you, after all, reciting poetry is one of your favorite hobbies. The party had felt enlightened by the short speech and their resolve had grown stronger.
“GRAAGHHH!!!” The Orcs began to charge. With their huge bodies and fighting prowess, this number of Orcs can topple a medium-sized country and even a fully-fledged Dragon.
Here they come! Claudio Valeth telepathically messaged for the last time as the invasion would ensue.

“Kekeke,” Tenebrae chuckled and drank from the glass of wine. His feet were placed on top of the decadent table inside one of the luxurious rooms of The Regalia. “Your plans are meticulous, even sophisticated if I dare say so myself.” King Albion was complimenting Dario's plan for the future that would accelerate the Dragon Campaign to the Omen Sect’s favor. And more importantly, this campaign would be an opportunity where growth and success are found through war.
The Lord Disciple had a plan which he had been patiently waiting to commence since attaining the job class as a Sith Lord. It was a couple of years back but Dario had envisioned a system in which the Omen Sect may become supreme.
Aside from the main fighting force (10 Demonic Masters, 36 Experts, The 50 Omens) outside of the Undead, there were vital positions needed for the Omen Sect to function how it used to be when they were at the peak of its prime since Odessa. They were called “The 4 Judges.”
Four heroes occupied positions within the Omen Nation’s governmental affairs and had specific job tasks that enable their country to be the best in the world. In other words, the re-establishment of the Judgehood was something that was on the Lord Disciple’s mind since the beginning.
The 1st Seat of Power belonged to Kensei, the Bushido Soul Saint. The position as the “1st Deva” would be known for one thing only and that is the character that is the strongest on the continent. Of course, this excludes Dario, as he is now the Sith Lord he serves. Other than personally handling the development of Masters and the upcoming generation, The First Seat of Power can be compared to that of a Duke who leaves all the important matters to their liege Lord. In other words, it is a relatively lax position with a lot of autonomy.
The 2nd Seat of Power would fall to the shoulders of the infamous, Eldar Calamor, Blood Elf, and The Necromancer, Deluc. He was charged with the improvement of the magic powers that the Omen Sect had lost in the Omen Campaign. As a result of the war, the development and production of the Arcane would have to be revived. Not only that, being the unique position of having a Necromancer like Deluc, he would also be charged with creating a circle of living Mages, Lich development, and Magic Tower implementation. With this unique aspect of having Calamor as the “2nd Judge,” he was expected to raise the magic power of the Omen Sect to the 10th Class. So far, 9th Class seems pretty close to the expected range that Dario had intended for Deluc.
The 3rd Seat of Power would be none other than the Arishok, Azad, the Legendary Midnight Soldier. He was the Familiar that had made the Sith Lord feel invincible to be able to summon someone so powerful. Being from a species that practices a religious culture that “lives by the sword,” and “dies by the sword,” they were called the Ronso and were one of the most powerful species on the planet rivaling Fairies, High Vampires, and Dragons. The Arishok, specifically, was a General that lead the military known as “Arishokras,” the “body” of the religious sword-wielding fanatics. He would fill in the role perfectly to groom Masters out of the young generation and the development and systemization of The Day Army.

Lastly, The 4th Seat of Power had the burden of optimizing strategies and tactics that would bring new heights for the Omen Sect. This position was something special out of the four. Dario had wanted the unorthodox, a new way of thinking, and, there was no one better than Parsifal, The First Familiar. Although not far from being as powerful as the preceding Judges, the Bow Saint was a person who had no choice but to implement strategies and tactics to his fighting style due to fighting from afar. Therefore, the option to place this vital position on Parsifal was fitting.
Not only that, Parsifal had the secret duty to develop special fighting forces and troop development worthy of special militaristic duties.
“How lucky for you to have such competent allies,” Tenebrae lazily plucked some grapes from the table full of fruits, refreshments, and sweets. He was jealous that not only was his plan complex but, it took four outstanding individuals to fully occupy such roles.
“That’s not all,” as if there were more to be told in his diabolical schemes, Dario spoke a foreshadowing. “My little brother will handle the east, Erebus, while we face the west, Serdio and Superbia. For us to conquer them, we must go to the southern continent.”
“There’s more?” King Albion questioned.
Dario’s final words were this, “We must make Alchemy and the production classes the focal point for the Omen Sect. If we have that, we can have the entire world.” A devious grin appeared on Dario’s face. His “evil eye” had grown darker and more intimidating, but more than that, the resolve in those eyes looked absolute.

His movements were fluid and fast. He was so fast that after-images would be created every time he moved. Glenn Courtwell, the Lord Apprentice would be in the challenge of his life. I’d forgotten. Glenn thought to himself as the sea of Blood Orcs and Great Orcs revealed their true size. Their average height was close to eight feet tall and their build was muscular and bulky. Most of them wore little to no armor and wielded crude weapons.
“It matters not. Die.” Like a cold-blooded killer, Glenn did not hesitate to unleash all his powers to this date. I haven’t had the time to fully check. Currently, the Lord Apprentice was under the restriction of not being able to use magic at all. He would have to fight physically. Although he doesn’t mind, this type of fighting is not his preference.
Glenn Courtwell Lvl. 136

What a drag. Glenn placed his hands into the Item Box and pulled Sijjin and Illiyin. Dario allowed his younger brother to borrow Sijjin for a while. If only I could use magic. With a cold-blooded expression, Glenn began to execute the Orcs in a hypersonic fashion.
“GRAGHHH!” GURAGHHHHH!!” The screams of the giant Orc species were all that could be heard as the first wave of them met the speed of the Lord Apprentice. In a series of flesh, appendages, and being cut to tiny pieces was what to be witnessed.
The Orcs in the second wave instinctively took a step back. What they saw was able to make them fear pieces of their species' flesh and blood being splattered everywhere.
“Scintilla,” Glenn performed a move that was favored by Dario and Jinn, only, it was a variation in the dual-wielding arts.
Dual-Sword Techniques: [Skill - Heavenly Demon Swordsmanship] Double Scintilla - Generates a hypersonic array of chi waves that focuses on speed rather than explosiveness. A variation that produces double the effect. Rank: EX Proficiency: 120%
SWOOSH!! SWOOSH!
The horizontal Blade Aura refined to perfection cut tens of thousands of the Peak Realm Orcs. If it had been done with one sword, then the total would have been half the result. Glenn was simply too fast.
He was breaking the sound barrier and moved at the speed of sound and beyond. There was no time for the Orcs to react as none of them could see Glenn. The fruition of all my labor. Finally, the Lord Apprentice could test the very limits of his power.
[Total Orcs (before battle): 908,801] [Total Orcs (currently): 850,991]

Claudio was witnessing the slaughter that the Lord Apprentice was personally doing from the palisade of Fort Graham. So this is how a Sith Lord fights? Glenn, being the younger brother of the Lord Disciple, Dario, was permitted to use the Heavenly Demon Arts as well. I remember faintly that he had fought using magic when he faced me. Disgusted by the fact that he, a 9th Class Archmage would be outdone by a Grandmaster. Preposterous!
The Archmage unleashed hell on earth as the skies began to be shrouded by gray clouds. “Ethereal Glass Rain,” a 9th-tier (area-of-effect) spell was cast. “Not yet,” Claudio Valeth supplemented the attack to produce an accelerant. “Diamond Winter Hell,” another 9th-tier spell was invoked.
Spells: [Ethereal Glass Rain] -A.O.E. (area-of-effect) spell that showers shards of rainbow glass like raindrops. An exclusive non-elemental spell that produces critical hits. Rank: 9th-Tier Proficiency: 100% Spells: [Diamond Winter Hell] -Materializes frozen shards of Diamond Ice. Fires at a wide range stretching for miles. A spell that combines the nature of several 8th-Tier elemental properties (Earth, Ice, and Fire) into one. Rank: 9th-Tier Proficiency: 100%
The skies were pouring out colorful spiky shards that landed on the Orcs. Most of them were split in half by the sharpness of the spiky shards, whereas, the rest were impaled by shards of Diamond Ice the size of pillars. Their bodies won’t be completely obliterated. Keke. Claudio snarled at the thought.
Truthfully, the 9th Class Archmage was not able to truly show his capabilities in this fight. The souls of this battle would be enough to revive the founding of The Grand Necropolis, a soon-to-be capital of Hollow World. He was informed of the plans regarding the future of the Omen Sect, and Claudio Valeth being a high-leveled character was more than worthy of being given sensitive information.
If there were no restrictions in this battle, Claudio Valeth would have unleashed the full power of a Doom Lord and scaled the whole terrain. No bodies would be found if he starts using Chaos Mana.
“One more should be a good show,” Claudio spent more than a third of his remaining mana. No matter, the Sith Lord has opened his Dragon Heart and Mana Breathing Method. My mana will recover in due time. Keke. The realization when the Archmage had been resurrected by a Sith Lord was perplexing. Typically, a Necromancer is not as powerful as a Doom Lord, meaning, it would be impossible to be able to revive a being more powerful than himself. However, such a notion was fully answered by learning that a Sith Lord was the one to do it. Kuku! Chaos Mana, Final Purification Chi Method, and the Dragon Tongue! An arrogant smirk appeared on Claudio’s face. His newfound power of being one of the Familiars of a Sith Lord granted him a power that made him confident to usurp Cepheid.
“[Maximize Magic: Nibelung Valesti]”
A spell of catastrophic proportions was unleashed as thousands of sacred spears materialized and began impaling the Orcs. None would escape as the 10th-Tier spell unleashed a sea of spears.
Spells: [Nibelung Valesti] -The ultimate crucifixion of impaling spears. Manipulates thousands of large spears created from mana. Developed by the Valeth Tower Master solely to slay a Dragon. Rank: 10th-Tier Proficiency: 100%

Paladin
When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!
