Liam expanded back into himself and looked at him with a blank expression. He didn’t feel the need to respond. He swung his spear time after time, always avoiding Typhon’s attacks by teleporting outside of his range and dealing light scratches. Every wound decreased the power of Typhon’s soul. Time passed. The winner had already been determined. The Elean didn’t possess an offensive Supreme Technique powerful enough, while his defenses had been broken down. He also couldn’t leave the Elean Empire’s territory, as Liam would simply annihilate the rest of his species. With no way to run, hide, or fight, the Elean Emperor roared in despair.

“500,000 years in the Convergence! Millions of years of history! Millions of years of pride! Am I supposed to let it all end here?! At your hands?! I refuse!”

Something changed. Liam’s Perception grasped it immediately. The Elean was burning his lifespan. The enemy’s fist arrived in front of his eyes in an instant. Liam’s pupils dilated slowly. He teleported away as usual, but the fist reached him all the same. Typhon’s range had been increased. However, the enemy was still limited by “speed.” Liam instantaneously put his spear between the fist and his face. He bore the brunt of the attack supported by the Law of Force. Thousands of fist energies surged after him all the same.

War Angel’s Arsenal.

An equal number of golden spears formed in the void. They pierced forward, meeting the fist energies head-on.

Gungnir. Longinus. Gae Bolg.

Every spear was imbued with the power of myths and all the Laws Liam knew. They were all applied perfectly. Even though the fist energies had a combination of Supreme Techniques as their source, the golden spears of light held on for an instant. It was enough. Liam teleported to the space right in front of Typhon’s punching figure.

Golden Saint. Sovereignty.

Both were Passive perks of his Imperial Armament, but he used them actively. Golden Saint reduced Typhon’s defenses, while Sovereignty increased the power of his Will. Liam’s Will pressured the enemy’s soul. The Elean’s furious and desperate expression was reflected clearly in Liam’s unfeeling golden eyes. Liam’s black skin was dotted with more golden constellations than ever. As the fist energies turned towards him, he used a simple Skill.

Supernova.

The golden halo behind him rotated as a golden sphere ascended from it. It detonated. The wave of golden Aura engulfed Typhon and all of the fist energies. It was Liam’s personal area of effect Skill.

[You have created a Supreme Technique!!!]

It tore through the attacking energies and surrounding Elean planets. Typhon’s Aura couldn’t protect them any longer. In the midst of the storm of golden Aura that threatened to dissipate the Aura surrounding the enemy Emperor, Liam used Singularity. The infinitesimal dots multiplied and pierced at Typhon’s head. They went through it instantly. The already diminishing lifespan was extinguished.

Liam expanded back into himself. The Elean Emperor had been slain.

In the last Singularity, Liam had poured the entirety of the offensive power of his Law of The Soul. When added to the power of his Law of Will, it was too much for the Minotaur to handle. His soul was snuffed out.

Alright, let’s get this done.

Several golden spheres appeared behind his back as Typhon’s Aura shields vanished from the surrounding celestial bodies. Supernova devoured them.

[Humanity has exterminated the Eleans.]

His reward was a single notification, but it was what he had already expected.

I suppose I should go back and prepare a bit more before facing the Navalon Autarchy.

He wasn’t too sure as to why he wanted to go back. To see his friends and Cassandra? No, that wasn’t it. He merely felt the need to recollect himself before going to another battle. He also needed to check up on humanity.

I’ll only spend a short time there. There are more important things to be done.

After slaying the Autarch and paying back his debt to Luweth, he would work on ending the Convergence and strengthening humanity. Even though alien emotions had made their way into his heart, it didn’t mean his dream or goals had changed. He was only more focused. He teleported once, arriving at Zancorix’s skies. Luweth immediately flew over to him before stopping and eyeing him from head to toe. Liam gave him a blank look.

“What?”

“…You had to do it, didn’t you? You had to give up on your emotions.”

Liam shrugged.

“I did what needed to be done. The Elean Empire is no more. Part of your revenge has been achieved.”

“If I knew the price would be the person you used to be, I wouldn’t have asked you to help me.”

“It’s too late for that.”

With a complex expression, Luweth stared at Liam as the man looked around, enveloping Zancorix in his perception and learning of all of humanity’s workings. He nodded.

“We’re moving at a steady pace. I’ll try to think of a way to speed things up since we couldn’t learn anything from the Elean Empire. I’m sure you’re already doing the same. I got part of Typhon’s memories, so I’ll put them to good use.”

“…How long will you stay for?”

“A few days, at most. I need to head over to the Navalon Autarchy.”

Liam crossed his legs and closed his eyes. Luweth eyed him incredulously.

“What are you doing?”

The disbelief in the Vampire’s voice was clear. Liam answered without opening his eyes.

“Recovering and considering the insights from the last battle. I’m getting ready for the fight against the Autarch.”

“For how long?”

“I’ve already told you. A few days.”

“So you won’t move from there until you leave again.”

“Indeed.”

“…”

Luweth disappeared wordlessly. Liam paid him no heed. There were more important things that needed his attention. He considered everything he had learned in his last battle. There was a lot he managed to perceive. The newfound knowledge was being applied in real time. Mere minutes afterwards, however, a change appeared in the surrounding space. Liam opened his eyes and looked at Luweth. Next to him was an obviously hesitant Cassandra. The Vampire said nothing and disappeared. Liam covered the woman in his Aura, sustaining her in the void. She met his cold and confused eyes. He spoke.

“Why have you come?”

“…So, it’s true.”

She looked down, attempting to hide her tears. They fell on her trembling feet.

“What is?”

Liam asked a question, already knowing its answer.

“You abandoned us.”

His brow furrowed slightly.

“I didn’t abandon anyone. Quite the opposite.”

“You abandoned me.”

He shut his mouth. From her perspective, it was true. He had forsaken their relationship the moment he decided to give up on his emotions for his goals. Liam could feel the now dormant human emotions within him move. His eyes got softer.

“…No. I did what I had to do, but it was never my intent to lose you.”

“Well, you’re pretty fucking close to it.”

Cassandra’s voice dripped with anger. Liam nodded.

“I know. I would not resent you if you ended our relationship right now.”

She raised her head with furious eyes.

“Do you know why you wouldn’t resent me? Because you don’t even fucking care anymore!”

Liam’s blank eyes slowly filled up with emotion. He hurriedly shook his head.

“That’s not true.”

“Why, then?! Why don’t you want to lose me?! You’ve already abandoned everything that makes you human! Your body, your level of power, your relatable nature! Now, you don’t even have the emotions a human should have!”

Liam’s voice was firm, but it sounded hollow.

“Because I love you.”

Cassandra shook her head with a sneer.

“If that were true, you would have at least wanted to see me. You might have loved me, but not anymore. I’m done here. Take me back to the Fortress. Now.”

“…This is it, then. I understand. I promise you,” Liam looked at her with complex eyes, making her flinch, “When all of this ends, I’ll do whatever it takes to earn your love back.”

“…We’ll see.”

As both of them went silent, it became clear that there was nothing else to be said. Liam waved his hand. Cassandra’s figure disappeared. He looked at his hand. His emotions weren’t in turmoil. He felt pain and longing, but it wasn’t intense. Cassandra was right. He had already forsaken being human.

If I’ve already lost everything that makes me human, the least I could do is succeed.

He concentrated, forcefully pushing his emotions to the depths of his soul. All that remained were inhuman, incomprehensible emotions. Feelings that belonged to “reality” instead of “fiction.” Liam rapidly calmed down. His thoughts turned back to what he could take from the last battle. Time passed by quickly. Liam learned and applied the knowledge in different ways by the second. After four days, he felt ready. His eyes glistened with possibilities.

Luweth. Tell me the Navalon Autarchy’s territory’s coordinates, please.

The information appeared in his mind wordlessly. Liam didn’t mind. He teleported immediately. After two more teleportations, he hid in the Endless Sea. He was going for the same surprise attack that he had executed against the Elean Empire.

Silently, Supernovas rose from his back.
