《Silent Poetry》Never Crave the Sun

The blue-green world still spins

like the swirling wine inside the bottle in your hand.

I didn't lose you, dear.

I just lost my patience and ignored the intense feeling.

But not always did

ignorance turn into bliss.

My eyes are soaking up in the green sunshine.

We only feel strange at times

when neon bulbs mar the grey silence.

And like a flickered moment,

this heart flips and runs opposite the breeze.

The feeling sinks between two purple skins.

I still love you with my heart.

Part of me is stained in your touch.

I miss your warmth;

and it's okay to wear a rough sweater.

All I know is you'll never return;

But I don't blame myself,

for I still want you to come back

one winter morning

and wrap your arm around me.

Girls like me never crave the sun

'Cause, it blinds us forever,

never to see the flower blooming and wilting away again.

I'll take your words and tattoo them

on my dead, pitiful limbs —

A shrinking metaphor of smoldering burns.

It's just that you've missed your chance

To catch the train

And return to love me again.

The daylight is ebbing into the shadow,

and my mask's melting away in its radiance.

All those songs of love and wildfire,

now etched on my lips,

bleed in the dead autumn glow.

Love's a famished illusion, honey.

And like ashes of my letters,

time's erasing our songs.

The color of the late sun's draining off them.

You're late, darling,

and I can't help it anymore.
