Lola ecstatically flailed her tails about as she excitedly watched Kai breathe fire with Scarlett even trying to mimic how Kai did it, before being stopped by Snow who sheepishly told her sister their mum would be mad if Scarlett damaged anything.

"Papa-papa, how did Kaikai do that?" Lola explosively asked in awe as she spontaneously spun around to look at Zalroth. Zalroth gave a shrug with a slightly concerned expression before he muttered who knows; Zalroth even joked that Kai might be part dragon, but did mention something about Kai being a little physically unstable. Lola and the other kids were left in awe at the prospect of Kai being a kitsune dragon hybrid and completely overlooked the unstable part of Zalroth's response.

As the group went back to watching the tournament, Snow diverted her attention from the screen when she noticed something in the corner of her eye; she looked towards the moving object and realised it was just Zalroth's right hand as his fingers were unnaturally moving in separate directions simultaneously.

"Do you have pins and needles, Mr Zalroth?" Snow quietly asked, which made Zalroth pause his finger stretching and slightly glance at Snow.

"Huh? Oh... sure. I guess you can call it that," Zalroth muttered as he clenched his fist and cracked all of its bones before he placed his hand on Zalina's (in cub kitsune form) head and slightly shook her awake. Zalina woke up in a groggy state before loudly yawning as she pushed Zalroth's hand away and sat up.

"Alright-alright, I'm going," Zalina grumbled as she curled up into a furball before she rolled off Zalroth's tails and towards the booth's exit. Kyubi watched the Zalina furball roll out of the room before she silently looked over at Zalroth and then at the TV.

Back in the tournament arena, both teams were neck-and-neck as they rapidly constructed their towers while fending off the swarm of ice golems. Kai hopscotched over the swarm of golems while firing her large fireballs in every direction that exploded like cluster bombs into swarms of Kai's small humanoid genie-like flame golems, which then exploded themselves; Luna followed up Kai's attack by entering her Surging Mana state (blue mana aura), tossing tons of magic charms everywhere and creating a fire magic circle below her along with magic circle appearing around the magic charms. Luna slammed her hands onto the magic circle below her and all the magic charm magic circles exploded into a torrent of flames that surged through the ice golems which only left a hand full of golems left and the ice dragon golem.

Kai playfully jumped in the air to avoid the waves of flames before landing on an ice golem; she quickly lept off the golem and springboarded herself at the ice golem dragon. The ice golem dragon spread out its wings and encased the wings in a frosty mist of mana. The mist formed into large shards of ice before the ice dragon golem's wings launched the ice shards at Kai.

Kai could feel her blood start to pump faster as she watched the ice bolts rocket towards her; Kai smirked when she felt her arms tingle as she made two shortsword versions of Raging Blade swords and grabbed them before she blasted off at an even faster speed. Kai pulled her blades back as she dodged out of the way of some of the ice bolts and sliced other ice bolts before she lept over the ice dragon golem.

"Eat this!" Kai shouted before she hurled a storm of Raging Blade knives at the ice dragon golem while it retaliated with a storm of large ice bolts. The storm of attacks collided with each other and Kai dived bombed through them before she landed on the back of the ice dragon golem. Kai pulled her fist back before she unleashed a fury of flame-covered punches into the ice dragon golem's back while shouting muda. The ice dragon golem raised its tail and tried to stab Kai with it. Kai sensed the tail coming towards her and she sidestepped out of its way before she pounded it with a super fire punch.

Kai smugly grinned as she felt proud at how she countered that tail attack; however, her grin disappeared when she noticed the ice dragon golem's tail tip started to glow. Kai quickly realised what was about to happen and she covered the tail tip with her opened dawnite hand fan before the tail tip exploded and launched Kai into the air. Kai soured through the air while happily cheering before she front-flipped and landed next to the tower.

The ice dragon golem slammed its claw into the ground and unleashed an ungodly roar as it crushed the remaining group of ice golems under its claw. The ice golem dragon absorbed the remains of the ice golems around itself and rapidly increased in size. Kai's eyes lit up in excitement as she watched the ice golem dragon increase to the size of a small building. Kai slammed her fist into the ground and encased her body in orange Disruptive Pulse mana before she sprinted straight for the ice dragon golem. The ice golem dragon's eyes lit up as a pale icy mana started to gather in its mouth. Luna was watching Kai racing towards the ice dragon golem as Ruby and Sophia were above her and constructing the second to last layer of the tower. Luna's eyes widened when she noticed that the ice dragon golem's head wasn't aimed at Kai but was aimed slightly to the left, and she realised that the golem wasn't planning on shooting Kai.

"Kai wait!," Luna blurted out as she detransformed from her Surging Mana State. Kai looked back at Luna and saw that Luna was frantically trying to get her to come back to the tower. Kai didn't understand why Luna wanted her to come back; however, Kai quickly figured out the reason for Luna's actions, when a beam of concentrated ice mana blasted past and headed straight for the tower. A large wall of dense red mana formed around the tower before the beam seemingly collided with it and the beam refracted off the wall in multiple directions.

Inside the viewing booth, Zalroth let out a deeply concerned sigh which made Lola and the other kids look back at him with confused expressions.

"Oh no..." Zalroth muttered with a slightly concerned tone as he sat up.

"What's wrong, Papa?" Lola asked as she lightly tapped Zalroth on the head. Zalroth but on a fake smirked and told her she'll see if they keep watching. Lola and the others disappointedly pouted at Zalroth's lack of an answer. Zalroth stood up and in the blink of an eye Lola and the others (excluding Chronia who was still on Zalroth's tails) were now sitting on the sofa. Chronia lazily floated over to Zalroth and landed on Zalroth's back as Lola and the others realised they weren't on Zalroth's tails anymore.

Back in the arena, Ruby was heavily breathing as she was using her dense mana to block the ice dragon golem's ice beam.

"Geez that was close, if I had been a second slower the tower would've been toast...," Ruby remarked while a sweat drop ran down her face and her body slightly shook as if she was lifting a heavy weight.

"And Kai made that dragon look weaker than it actually was...," Ruby added as she watched her mana wall slightly crack.

Kai stood motionless as she watched the ice beam slowly destroy Ruby's mana wall. Kai couldn't explain why she felt her blood boil as an indescribable rage swelled up inside of her that she could understand where it was coming from. Everything around her seemed like a blur and became veiled in a slight shade of teal; she looked at the palms of her hands as they shook.

Kai attempted to speak but couldn't utter even a single and she covered her left eye as a sharp pain shot through her brain. Kai's mana, chakra, and a third kind of energy exploded out of her body and flooded the entirety of the arena as Kai uncontrollably screamed. Kai flailed her head around and tightly held onto it as the silver part of her hair flicked to a glowing orange. Kai could feel her mind fill with a head-splitting headache. She collapsed to her knees in a slump as the pain brought her to the verge of tears, both in the crying sense and torn apart sense. The tears welled up in her eyes and further blurred her vision.

Kai darted her head around and tried to locate the others but her distress continued to rise from her inability to see further than a few inches ahead of her. In her disorientated state, Kai dropped to her knees and relentlessly balled her eyes out as she cried out for Zalroth.

"ZalRotH...," Kai shakily asked as she heard something land in front of her. Kai looked up and saw a silver figure in front of her that she immediately assumed was the ice dragon golem. Kai staggered to her feet before she balled up her fist and weakly punched the silver figure with all the strength she could muster.

"Stay back!" Kai shouted hysterically but as she felt the thing she punched she realised it wasn't the ice dragon golem. The figure lifted its arms, and Kai raised her arm in an attempt to block whatever the figure was about to do; however, Kai was caught off guard by the figure when it suddenly wrapped its arms around her.

"Ssshhush, it's alright I'm here now," Zalroth said reassuringly as he pulled Kai in for a strong hug and placed a hand on the back of her head. Both due to hearing his voice and also from recognising his smell, Kai realised Zalroth was the one who was currently hugging and comforting her. Kai's eyes welled up before she buried her face into Zalroth's chest and meekly cried as her overflowing aura died down. Zalroth lightly stroked Kai's hair while he hummed a melody to Kai until she fell asleep.
