《A Dance With Hades》Twenty One|Childhood Home

After a few hours of trying to come up with a believeable lie on why I shouldn't go meet Vincenzo's parents, I've come up with absolutely nothing.

When I was done showering, I walked into my room to find multiple shopping bags on my bed.

A small note from Vincenzo only had the words 'Wear something sexy for me, amore.' was left between the clothing and shoes.

It took me a while, but I found a dress that's both sexy, but also decent for the occasion.

The silky material of the dress hits my ankles and there's a large slit cut mid thigh on my right leg.

There's a cut out design right under the curve of my breasts, my boobs are still hidden from people's eyes. The cut out design gives the dress a bit of an erotic feel, but the length of it and long sleeves keep it on the mildly decent side.

I pair the dress with black heels, which I still can't quite walk in, but I'll wear them tonight for my boyfriend because I have a feeling he likes a woman in heels.

And a thin iced out chain is hanging from my neck, finishing off the attire.

Just like a baby taking it's first steps, I take small steps forward, trying my hardest to not fall flat on my ass.

I walk to the dressing table across the bed and sit down on the comfy, cushioned seat. I look up at myself in the mirror and see how my hair is a large mess.

Opening one of the drawers, I find that it's packed with hair products and different types of combs and brushes, all gifts from Vincenzo.

I pick a black hair brush from the drawer and brush my hair out, taming the wild locks for the time being.

Searching through of all the hair products, I find some hair gel and smile a bit. I decide to gel all of my hair down to keep it more tamed for tonight.

I tie the rest of my hair that wouldn't stay down at the back of my head with a black hair tie. To finish the whole hairdo, I lay down my edges and smile at the good job I actually did.

Laying down edges is not an easy task and today they actually look good.

I open the other drawer and find little make-up, a clear indication Vincenzo does not like a woman with make-up.

I pop the cap on the liquid eyeliner and draw thin wings at the edges of my eyes. And to finish my bare minimum make-up, I spread a layer of clear lip gloss across my lips.

Getting up, I grab my phone from the bed and a small purse which also came with the many gifts Vincenzo got for me. I toss the lip gloss into the purse and put my phone inside.

Before walking to the door, I look at myself in the full body mirror for the last time to make sure I look respectable for the Martinelli family.

As I open the door to my room, my eyes lift off the ground, my soul escaping from my body when I see a dark figure leaning against the doorframe.

I step back as my hand shoots up to my chest. The figure lifts it's head and I feel a bit relieved.

"Sorry," Riccardo is quick to apologise when he sees my hand resting over my pulsating heart. His eyes travel down my outfit and he frowns before lifting his eyes back up to mine.

"You don't like?" I ask in a small voice. "I can go change," I say as I turn around to walk back to the closet and pick something else.

Riccardo grabs my wrist and chuckles. "Sorellina, you look amazing, but I don't know if Vincenzo will be able to control himself."

I slowly turn back around and he smirks. "Let's get going," he says and I nod while hooking my arm around his elbow.

Riccardo helps me out of the Lamborghini, correction, my Lamborghini. I still don't believe Vincenzo bought me a car after knowing me for only a few hours.

Riccardo walks besides me while Angelo and Nicola stay behind us.

There's a bunch of armed men walking around in the same black and white suits as Angelo and Nicola, but they don't look as handsome as my two friends do in their suits.

This place is extremely beautiful and very spacious. It's mostly covered by tall trees and shrubs, the green colour overpowering everything else.

"Is this where the Martinelli family lives?" I ask while looking up at Riccardo.

He shakes his head before looking down at me with a smile. "My family and Vincenzo's family bought this place a while ago just so we could get together in one place for some familigia time," he explains, joy jumping between his dark green eyes.

"Vincenzo, Lorenzo and myself practically grew up here. Our mothers raised us together while our father's were making better names for our families," he adds with the biggest grin on his handsome face.

His green eyes glow with the joy of his childhood memories. This place means so much to him and I feel a bit special both he and the Martinelli brothers are allowing me access to it.

Angelo opens the large front doors for us and we step into the house. A shiver goes down my spine as the cool air of the house passes by.

I'm getting very anxious and nervous about this whole dinner with his famlily.

I don't know how they are going to react when they see me because I'm not the same race as Vincenzo.

I don't think it's a common thing for people in the Sicilian Mafia, or any Mafia, to get involved with people outside their kind.

A lot of things can go wrong tonight, but I'm hoping I can make it through without making an absolute fool of myself.

We walk down the wide hallway, past a few marble statues. "Are these The Twelve Titans?" I ask while pointing to one of the statues as I recognise it.

"Uhh... I don't know," Riccardo awkwardly answers. "I've been in this house a million times, but I still don't know what these statues represent," he admits.

I pull my hand free from his hold and walk over to one of the statues of a woman. I look over her face and study her features, trying to remember which titan she is.

"This is Themis, goddess of divine law and order," I say as I finally figure it out while touching the statue. "She was part of the Greek titans and titanesses."

"Your name is also from Greek mythology, right?" I nod while while turning back to face Riccardo. "What does it mean?"

"Well according to mythology, Nyx was a goddess that had the ability to bring sleep and death to the human race," I say while stepping closer to him.

While growing up, all I could do was study Greek mythology when I didn't have to study for school.

I don't know why my biological mother named me after a Greek goddess, but I'm glad and thankful she named me after such a powerful goddess.

"Even Zeus, the King of Greek gods, feared Nyx because she was stronger than him, older too. She could even control shadows and fhe darkness," I explain to which he smirks.

"Then you are just perfect for this organisation," he says with a wink and I giggle.
